Mon 3rd Bombay Sapphire Distillery Tour + Winchester Come along for a tour of this remarkable site at Laverstoke in Hampshire. The stunning Palladian Mansion, once the family home of the Hoares, is full of Georgian treasures, Chippendale furniture and fine paintings. Set in the lovely Somerset countryside, the house is surrounded by 30 acres of award winning gardens described by Alan Titchmarsh as 'One of the great gardens in the West Country'. Around the grounds there are sculptures and the impressive Centenary Fountain, at 160ft the highest powered fountain in England. Inside you can discover the lives of monks in the fascinating Monastic Rooms and house. Price includes entrance. Only £36.50 Tue 4th City of Bath Bath is brimming (sorry!) with things to see and do. Designated by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, Bath presents some of the finest architectural sights in Europe such as the Royal Crescent, the Circus and Pulteney Bridge alongside a diverse collection of museums and attractions including the Roman Baths, Royal Crescent and Thermae Bath Spa. Bath's compact city centre enjoys a wonderful atmosphere and offers irresistible shopping for that unique gift. Only £23.50 Tue 4th Windsor River Cruise OR Windsor Only After we arrive in Windsor, it is just a short stroll through the riverside park to Windsor Promenade and the 11.30am boat. This 40 minute cruise goes upstream to Boveney Lock & returns with fantastic views of Windsor Castle, Eton College, Mill House, Windsor Racecourse & the Brocas Meadows. The view of the Castle from the river is undoubtedly the finest there is, making this trip excellent for those who are visiting Windsor for the first time. Outside there is a superb formal garden with mixed borders, old roses and a landscaped park - great for exploring. Sheltered beneath the southern slopes of the Mendip Hills, it combines a wealth of historic interest and beautiful architecture. Wells qualifies as England's smallest, and Somerset's only city because of its amazing 12th century Cathedral. The wells, are located within the grounds of the Bishop's Palace, which is still the residence of the Bishop of Bath and Wells. Also of interest are Vicars' Close, claimed to be the oldest complete medieval street in Europe, and the historic market place. The Radcliffe Camera, Bodleian Library and Bridge of Sighs make up just a few of the famous picturesque buildings of Oxford. The site has recently shot to prominence as the sit of the hit BBC series - The Repair Shop. The 40-acre site has 50 buildings to explore and many are exhibit houses, furnished to recreate historic domestic interiors. There are different domestic demonstrations on most days in the exhibit houses – dairying and cooking, spinning or weaving. We board the superb M V Barbara McLellan broad beam narrowboat and enjoy the wildlife and countryside on our 2 1/2 hour cruise along tranquil stretches of water with magnificent panoramic views including crossing the Avoncliff Aqueduct.
