WELLBEING
Wellbeing Fair
The New Year, New You event was held in the Vestry Hall and it was
very busy. Several of the organisations attending have put together
a paragraph on what they do, and how to get in touch with them
WINDMILL
Cranbrook windmill needs
seven or eight stewards on
duty every time we open to the
public. Replacement stewards
are needed each year as some
retire. The Wellbeing Fair gave a
good opportunity to let visitors
know about the windmill, what
being a steward involves and
the training we give for them to
acquire the necessary knowledge,
skills and confidence. We expect
a number of the visitors who
showed interest at the Fair to
join us. If you weren’t able to
be there it’s not too late, email
volunteering@unionmill.org.uk
HEALTHY
GUIDING
As part of Girlguiding ,Cranbrook
has a thriving Rainbow unit (over
20 girls aged 4-7) and a growing
Brownie unit (around 30 girls
aged 7-10) who meet on a Friday
afternoon/evening. To sustain
these units, we need adult
volunteers who will help the
Rainbows with their activities
and/or encourage teamwork and
promote independence with
our Brownies, to enable the
girls to develop, grow and gain
confidence. We hope some on the
people we met at the Wellbeing
Fair (and any who are interested
but couldn’t make it) will
consider joining us to create an
inclusive nurturing environment
for girls and adults.
Volunteering with us can be
flexible and is rewarding with fun
and friendship at the core! If you
GARDENING WITH
DISABILITIES
Gardening with Disabilities
Trust exists to get people
gardening again, so that more
people can enjoy the feel good
feeling that gardening brings.
We award micro-grants to
purchase specialist equipment
or make garden adaptations,
so that gardening becomes
possible despite disabilities.
Although The Trust awards
grants nationally, it is based in
Cranbrook and we are searching
for new committee members
– no gardening expertise
required, just an enjoyment of
beautiful gardens, a sense of
humour and enthusiasm. www.
TEMPO SINGERS
We are a mixed choir and sing a
wide variety of songs in four-part
harmony. We believe that singing
in a group is a great restorative
to wellbeing, whether one can
sing well or not, and we aspire to
bring joy and friendship to adults
of any age. We sing on Saturday
mornings from 9:30-11:00am in
the Vestry Hall. More details at
