2023 Safe Sports Social Program

Welcome to the 11th annual Safe Sports Social! It is hard to believe that this event has been held annually for more than a decade! It’s equally hard to believe how many kids YOU have helped keep safe and thriving! Tonight is about a look back at all of the kids you have helped and a look forward for all of those who continue to need your support. If we learned anything through the pandemic - and we certainly learned a lot - it is that sports are an incredibly important part of the social and physical well-being of our children. The need to stay safe and thriving through sports is present everyday. It doesn’t only live with the major, season-ending injuries. Instead, kids need your support every day - to stay in the game, literally and figuratively. On behalf of our Board of Directors, I would like to Thank you for being part of the Safe Sports Team and making a difference every day! Yours, James Vailas, MD

2023 Safe Sports Star of the Year
The Safe Sports Star of the Year Award is given to a person
who through words and actions demonstrates
their commitment to ensuring youth sports
“I’ve been supporting athletes at the high school, college and
professional levels for 29 years. It keeps me very busy, but I love it!
Helping athletes and families is certainly my favorite part. ”
Pam Kasper works tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure
young athletes have the care they need quickly. She’s been
juggling athletes’, parents’, athletic trainers’, and providers’
schedules for nearly 30 years as a Physician Coordinator at
the NH Orthopaedic Center (NHOC).
Pam is always willing to help. She is a
friendly, supportive voice on the phone
or through email. She “works magic” to
help kids get care fast. She knows that kids
who participate in sports realize important
benefits – benefits like self-esteem,
confidence, and discipline. Pam knows that
a young athlete kept from their sport is a
young person at risk. So she puts her head
down and finds a way – so our kids can keep
their heads up and make the most of the opportunities sports provide.
“Pam is a gem & has long been underrecognized
for her contributions for kids in our community.
We simply couldn’t do it without her!!”
