2023 Safe Sports Social Program

Welcome to the 11th annual Safe Sports Social! It is hard to believe that this event has been held annually for more than a decade! It’s equally hard to believe how many kids YOU have helped keep safe and thriving! Tonight is about a look back at all of the kids you have helped and a look forward for all of those who continue to need your support. If we learned anything through the pandemic - and we certainly learned a lot - it is that sports are an incredibly important part of the social and physical well-being of our children. The need to stay safe and thriving through sports is present everyday. It doesn’t only live with the major, season-ending injuries. Instead, kids need your support every day - to stay in the game, literally and figuratively. On behalf of our Board of Directors, I would like to Thank you for being part of the Safe Sports Team and making a difference every day! Yours, James Vailas, MD

Welcome to Our 2023 Keynote Speakers
Catching up (if you can!!) with the Robitaille’s
In 2019 Corinne and Julia Robitaille shared their story with Safe Sports
donors. That video provides a compelling peek into the lives of these twins
and how hard they work to excel in the classroom and at competitive running.
When we last checked in with Corinne and Julia, they had committed
to study and run at Dartmouth. Despite significant injuries during their high
school sports careers, their academic and running achievements made the
elite school a perfect fit.
Racing ahead four years brings us to their senior year at Dartmouth where
the Engineering (Corinne) and Government (Julia) majors have helped their
team win All-Academic Team honors. They have been key members of the
track team and cross-country team (which recently won a prestigious Ivy
League competition and finished 6th in the NCAA Northeast Regional meet).
It has been an incredibly successful four years for Corinne and Julia in the
Ivy League. Corinne and Julia (and their mother Dorra!) have not forgotten
the difference you – Safe Sports donors – made in their lives by making Safe
Sports available to them. They are excited to share just how much the Safe
Sports Team helped shape their lives and supported their success!
You made a difference
for Julia and Corinne
Robitaille (above) during
their high school years –
that is still making a
difference for them today.
Thank you for caring
for our kids!
