disappointed at the end of this afternoon’s game.
We’re going to have to be at our best to keep
them quiet and hopefully put a dent in Preston’s
impressive away record this season.
I’m also delighted to welcome back members
of the 1992/93 squad who finished fifth in the
Premier League and made QPR the top London
team that season, a fantastic time for the club.
The building blocks of the club and its history
is something we take great pride in at QPR. I’m
proud to have been part of that history as a player
10 or 11 years later when I was fortunate enough
to play in another iconic QPR team that recovered
from administration and relegation to get
promoted. I’m in awe of that 1992/93 squad and I
know how important it is to recognise players who
have been fantastic servants to the club – they
should be remembered very fondly.
Les Ferdinand has worked hard with me and
offered fantastic support since the day I walked
in the door and people like him and Andy Sinton
have been great QPR stalwarts. All they want is the
best for this club, they’re trying their hardest to
rediscover the good times and I know I can help to
bring those back. I need a little bit of time, but right
now we need some results. We’re going through a
testing time yet, as I’ve said before, if you give your
support through the bad times, it makes the good
times feel even better.
