■
Serious injuries can be caused by burst tires, flying off balancing weights or rim parts.
Dust harmful to health is released by abrasion of brake linings.
Do not point the filling piece at persons, animals or moving objects when unloading.
Danger due to lack of maintenance of the equipment
Do not blow the air onto the rim.
To avoid dust formation, clean rims and tires only wet; if possible, use wheel washing equipment.
Tires should not be cleaned with flammable liquids if the tire inflation bomb is subsequently used.
Remove dust on brake drums with the extraction bell in conjunction with suitable industrial vacuums. For dust free of
asbestos, use category U equipment and for dust containing asbestos, use category K1 equipment.
Only use rims that are in perfect condition. For one-piece rims where both halves are tack welded together, check the
strength of the seam.
Pre-damaged tires must be rendered unusable.
When inflating the tire, set up protective equipment to catch flying parts.
Keep people away from the danger zone.
On tire changers with vertical wheels, work with heavy tires (e.g. EM tires) must be carried out by 2 persons.
For tires with a diameter > 1.4 m or a weight > 200 kg, devices must be used to prevent them from falling over.
The inflation of the tire must be monitored and the maximum permissible mounting pressures must not be exceeded.
■ There is a danger to other persons, therefore always keep a safety distance of min. 10 m.
■
The jumping of the beads into the desired position takes place at high speed, therefore it should always be ensured that:
ü In the case of multi-piece rims, the screw connections are tight.
ü The tires are always inflated to the specified pressure.
ü A safety cage is used.
ü The tires are not damaged.
Behavior in case of malfunctions
■
Any defects found must be reported immediately to the person in charge.
First aid
■
■
■
■
Inform the first aider (see alarm or emergency plan)
Treat injuries immediately
Make an entry in the first-aid book
In case of serious injuries, make an emergency call
Maintenance
