ALITHERM 400 THE REAL DEAL
REAL Aluminium is offering customers the perfect balance of aesthetics and function with the
Alitherm 400 System.
Manufactured to incorporate a pre-gasketed system and quick glaze bead to optimise performance
and reduce installation times, Alitherm 400 is the first of its kind to be built into a thermally broken
aluminium system. The innovative design features polyamide thermal break technology, which works
by creating a thermal barrier between the cold air outside and the warm air inside. By reducing
thermal transmittance, this serves to enhance the overall U-value of the product. Additionally, the
system is rigorously tested to PAS 24:2022 as standard, and exceeds the requirements for both
weather resistance and security performance.
Phil Walker, Managing Director of REAL Aluminium, said: “We are delighted to be able to offer Alitherm 400 doors to our customers. The doors perfectly
complement the window range, offering the same stylish lines and ease of fabrication and installation.” https://re-aluminium.co.uk
REHAU INTRODUCES NEW TRIM RANGE
In response to growing customer demand, polymer supplier REHAU has introduced a new trim range to provide further
compatibility with its existing foil range.
The range includes Turner Oak, Midnight Black and Elephant Grey, which are colours not readily available from other trim suppliers, and it
has been bolstered to include 12 finishes. The new trims are available to order and are compatible with all REHAU window systems.
Russell Hand, Head of Product and Technical at REHAU Windows UK, commented: “We are continually looking for ways to offer our
customers more product choice and design flexibility. We identified a gap in the market in which popular window foils in our range,
Turner Oak for example, required matching trims. So, by expanding the portfolio to include such foils, customers can now source a
complete window package more easily than ever before. The new trims have been a huge success with an impressive number of orders coming through
already.” www.rehau.com/group-en
LISTERS LAUNCHES SMART WINDOW LOCK
Listers has added the new Superior high-performance bi-directional hook and shoot-bolt window
lock from Avantis, to its range.
Engineered to withstand more than 4.5 kilonewtons of end load, the PAS24 and Secured by Design
accredited mechanism is built around a unique bi-directional gearbox. Combined with the largest bidirectional
locking hooks of any window lock, reinforced keeps, plus high tolerance and adjustable mushroom
cams, the next generation locking mechanism delivers an enhanced level of security, compression and
weather sealing. Tested to 50,000 cycles and backed by a 10-year guarantee, it also fully integrates with
Kubu, the smart home security system, giving end-users real-time updates on the status and security of their homes.
Smart enabled, the Avantis Superior Lock uses the new Kubu floating window sensor. This determines if the window is opened, closed, secure or on a vent
setting. It also sends an alert to end-users if the window is forced or under attack. www.listerwindows.co.uk
VEKA SETS OUT ITS VISION FOR 2025
With Building Regulations set to change again in 2025, VEKA wants to reassure customers that they are
focused on preparing suitable solutions that will be effective across all market sectors and will meet all
required legislation.
Paul Kennington, VEKA Technical Director, said: “We need to fully understand what the consultations of this
year will bring. With results due in the spring, our team will be working hard to find fabricator friendly solutions to
the new legislation. The UK is experiencing hotter summers, which means that dark colours could be susceptible
to thermal movement. Even the smallest change will make a difference to a U-value. More storms during winter
months also mean that reinforcement is essential. We are taking time to ensure that we get this right. Our aim is to minimise the impact of these changes
for our customers by offering hassle free solutions.” https://vekauk.com
