from getting together with a group of
likeminded people to learn something
new are very beneficial.
We are offering a range of Photography
Foster who is a full-time professional
Discover emerging
artists at the WEA
Art Show
The CWEA is excited to invite you
to this week-long ART SHOW. The art
on display at 59 Gloucester Street will
represent a variety of styles, subject matter
and technique. Situated across from
Christchurch’s Art Gallery and close to
Matariki events at Turanga, pop in and
enjoy the show. Open 10am to 4pm daily
from Friday 14 July until Thursday 20 July,
free entry.
From a garage art collective whose
practice has been honed by WEA study
with Linda Hart and Nina Cook, Jeanne,
Mike and Kaye were the catalyst for this
collaborative Art Show at WEA. For
some participants this show marks the
courageous step to show their work
beyond family and friends for the first
time. For others it is another opportunity
to show work alongside fellow students
and their tutors. Most of the work will
be for sale and those who seek to acquire
an original work of art should definitely
schedule a visit in the early stages of the
show (with collection to be arranged after
the show concludes).
The CWEA is a charity, offering
affordable adult and community education
courses in the heart of the city, visit
www.cwea.org.nz to find out more.
If courses in arts and crafts, music,
movement, current issues or philosophy
appeal to you, collect a brochure while
visiting, or talk to those minding the
show about enrolling in Term 3 that
begins on Monday 24 July.
