aluminum frame(forged by over 6000 tons of
pressure) and responsive adjustable(Compression,
pre-load, and rebound adjustment) suspension
system provide a smooth, comfortable ride, while
the high-capacity 60v 38amp battery delivers
hours of uninterrupted fun and combined with
the 3000-6000W(Eco or Sport mode) of power
delivered by the silent but powerful LPMSM motor
(linear permanent magnet synchronous motor).
With a range of up to 100km on a single charge,
a quickly changeable battery pack, and a charge
time from empty to full of only 3 hours, the Sting
ensures minimal intervals in between riding fun.
But the Talaria Sting MX3 isn’t just about
performance - it’s also about style. With its sleek,
modern design and attention to detail, this bike
turns heads wherever you go as it did with us
while riding around the outskirts of a golf coursetry
doing that on a motorcycle!
The Sting is a powerful toy but is suitable for
the young and inexperienced as well as the
seasoned rider and can be ridden in either Eco or
Sport mode. It’s easy to maneuver and handles
surprisingly well for a 63kg mass thanks to its stiff
frame, fully adjustable suspension, 19” wheels,
and grippy tyres. The model we had on test
was standard except for a change in gearing/
sprockets and wider, grippier tyres which made
a huge difference in the terrain we were riding in. We
also had access to a spare battery pack which we
managed to change in less than 1 minute, meaning
we were back out, enjoying the trails in no time. The
ground clearance of 280mm is adequate but you do
need to be careful over obstacles to ensure you don’t
ding the thin metal bash plate. Seat height isn’t really
an issue and it actually feels lower than the 870mm
claimed.
The thing about an electric vehicle is that you always
have the maximum torque on hand, always and
without hesitation. The 34NM of torque as standard
on the Sting propels you to a top speed of 80-85kph.
