<strong>Sukhothai</strong> - Si Satchanalai<br />
Route : Visit the ruins <strong>of</strong> the ancient glorious<br />
<strong>Sukhothai</strong> Kingdom<br />
(2 days 1 night)<br />
Day 1: <strong>Sukhothai</strong><br />
Morning From Bangkok, proceed along Highway No. 32 via<br />
the provinces <strong>of</strong> Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya,<br />
Ang Thong, Sing Buri, Chai Nat, and Nakhon Sawan.<br />
Switch to Highway No. 1 for Kamphaeng Phet and<br />
proceed further onto Highway No. 101 for Ban<br />
Thung Luang, Amphoe Khiri Mat. This takes about<br />
5½ hours. A good bargain <strong>of</strong> Thung Luang terra<br />
cotta at Ban Thung Luang comes in various<br />
products; such as, �ower pots, �gurines, etc.<br />
Visitors can enjoy the production process. For<br />
lunch, have authentic <strong>Sukhothai</strong> noodles.<br />
Afternoon See a Sangkhalok ceramic demonstration<br />
at Tambon Mueang Kao, where renowned products<br />
<strong>of</strong> this community are available. Then, learn about<br />
the history <strong>of</strong> Sangkhalok ceramic and <strong>Sukhothai</strong><br />
at the Ramkhamhaeng National Museum.<br />
Evening Proceed to the <strong>Sukhothai</strong> Historical Park. Enjoy<br />
Day 2 Si Satchanalai<br />
the sunset at the Traphang Trakuan Pond and<br />
a bicycle ride around the ruins <strong>of</strong> the ancient<br />
glorious historical park (inside the city wall).<br />
Morning Visit the sites outside the city wall; such as,<br />
temples <strong>of</strong> Wat Si Chum, Wat Phra Phai Luang,<br />
and Wat Saphan Hin. Then, leave for Amphoe<br />
Sawankhalok, and visit the <strong>org</strong>anic agriculture<br />
project at the <strong>Sukhothai</strong> Airport, where agro<br />
tourism activities are practiced. See the cultivation<br />
<strong>of</strong> <strong>org</strong>anic paddy rice; planting, harvesting, and<br />
milling. Tourists can enjoy cycling. Organic fruit<br />
and vegetables are also available; such as, Chinese<br />
Kale, Chinese cabbage, baby corn, yard long bean,<br />
various kinds <strong>of</strong> mango and papaya, as well as<br />
products from rice seedlings, which are a rice<br />
seedling drink and ice cream. Visitors can take part<br />
in preparing <strong>org</strong>anic food.<br />
