Evening Arrive in Bangkok.<br />

The Khao Luang Victory Day, in which people climb up to the<br />

summit <strong>of</strong> Khao Luang, is held annually around the second week <strong>of</strong><br />

December.<br />

Merit Making Trip<br />

Route: Pay homage to the sacred places <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>Sukhothai</strong> (2 days 1 night/Family)<br />

Day 1: From Bangkok, proceed along Highway No. 1. at<br />

Km. 50, switch to Highway No. 32 via Amphoe<br />

Bang Pa-in T-junction in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya<br />

province. Travel through Ayutthaya towards<br />

Nakhon Sawan. Proceed further onto Highway<br />

No. 117 for Phitsanulok and switch to Highway<br />

No. 12 for <strong>Sukhothai</strong>. This route is 427 kilometres<br />

and takes about 5 hours.<br />

Noon Arrive in <strong>Sukhothai</strong>. Have authentic <strong>Sukhothai</strong><br />

noodles for lunch.<br />

Afternoon Visit the Phra Mae Ya Shrine situated in front <strong>of</strong> the<br />

Day 2<br />

City Hall. It is highly respected by <strong>Sukhothai</strong><br />

residents. O�erings <strong>of</strong> �oral, incense, candles,<br />

and betel are made. The shrine houses an idol <strong>of</strong><br />

Phra Mae Ya supposed to have been built during<br />

King Ramkhamhaeng the Great’s reign as a<br />

dedication to his late mother Nang Sueang. It is<br />

also believed to house the spirit <strong>of</strong> King Ramkham<br />

haeng the Great. Then, proceed to <strong>Sukhothai</strong><br />

Historical Park, and take a tram ride to all the main<br />

attractions; such as, Wat Mahathat, Wat Si Sawai,<br />

Wat Si Chum, King Ramkhamhaeng the Great<br />

Monument, and Phra Atchana, the so-called<br />

unmoved monumental stucco Buddha image in<br />

Wat Si Chum. Back to the accommodation.<br />

Morning: Depart for Amphoe Thung Saliam to pay<br />

homage to the golden <strong>Sukhothai</strong>-style Buddha<br />
