This customary showcase dedicated
to worldwide cinematographic
art is punctually back. Promoted by
the Venice Biennale and directed by
Alberto Barbera, it will take place at
the Lido of Venice from 30 August
to 9 September in its traditional
Cinema Palace venues and the Cinema
Citadel ones around it.
The international Jury, chaired for
this 80th Edition by American filmmaker
Damien Chazelle, will award
the feature-length films in Competition
with the following official
prizes: Golden Lion for best film,
Silver Lion – Grand Jury Prize, Silver
Lion – Award for Best Director, Volpi
Cup for Best Actress, Volpi Cup for
Best Actor, Special Jury Prize Award
for Best Screenplay, Marcello Mastroianni
Award for Best New Young
Actor or Actress.

The cultural event that takes place on
the waters of the Venetian lagoon, is
back. Films, videos, performances, are
presented on a stage and screen in
the waters behind the island of Giudecca,
at the end of Rio de Sant’Eufemia.
Spectators will be able to watch both
from their own boats and from a raft.
