BROADEN YOUR LEARNING 

To Go Abroad 

Centennial provides transformative learning experiences that 

extend beyond Canada's borders. International opportunities 

complement your studies with a global perspective. All global 

experience programs are 70 to 100 per cent funded. 

WORK ABROAD 

For two to four months, in a global workplace 

directly related to your field of study, earn placement 

or co-op credit for your program. 

RESEARCH ABROAD 

Contribute to an applied research project, under 

experts’ supervision, which allows you to explore 

new products and technologies. Taking place over 

the course of a semester, the research includes 

one to two weeks abroad. 

STUDY ABROAD 

Spend two weeks to four months studying at one 

of our global partner institutions, learning a new 

language and experiencing a new culture, or taking 

relevant courses to earn credit towards your program. 

You can also participate in a faculty-led study for two 

weeks, gaining first-hand experience and practical 

knowledge relevant to your field of study while earning 

credit towards your program. 

VOLUNTEER ABROAD 

Combining learning, travel, adventure, and social 

reform, our two-week service learning experiences take 

place in a diverse range of global settings. Principles 

of global citizenship, social justice, and equity are 

also embedded right into the applied and theoretical 

elements of your program through our Signature

welcoming space for all students. The interior planning — characterized by flexible, engaging, diverse,

EXPERIENCES 

Why did you decide to come to Centennial 

to upgrade your skills? 

“I have a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering 

and worked for Bombardier Aerospace and De Havilland. 

In 2020, I got laid off due to COVID. I searched for jobs but 

was unable to find something I wanted to do. So, I decided to 

upgrade in the aerospace field. I came across this program, 

which suited my profile and my career path, so I joined.” 

What was your favourite part of Aerospace 

Manufacturing Engineering? 

“There are many things this program taught which are 

industry-related, like CNC, masterCam, Catia software, 

Solidworks, Ansys and Matlab. Catia is of immense help 

when it comes to the aerospace industry. My favourite 

part would be learning Catia and other software.” 

What has been your career path since 

you graduated? 

“I joined De Havilland as a Methods Engineer [just weeks 

after my classes ended]. I’m also planning to join the 

Reserve Force of the Canadian Armed Forces as an 

Aerospace Engineering Officer.” 

How did the program prepare you for the industry? 

“The program is based on industry-specific requirements, 

which helps one to shine during an interview. It also 

prepares you for the job you are applying for.”

TECHNOLOGY REQUIREMENTS 

To support your learning, many programs use flexible 

teaching models, including online, in-person, or a 

combination of these. Some programs require access

WAITING LISTS 

A program waiting list is created when the number 

of eligible applicants exceeds the number of 

available spots in a program. If additional space 

becomes available, additional offers are sent to 

the next highest qualified applicants on the waiting 

list, based on an average of the required subjects. 

COMPETITIVE PROGRAMS 

For some programs, Centennial receives more 

qualified applicants than available seats. Minimum 

admission requirements do not guarantee a seat 

in these programs, which often have additional 

selection requirements. If you are applying to a 

highly competitive program, you must submit 

your application before February 1 to be equally 

considered among all other applicants.

comprehensive program. I was going to be learning radio 

production, film production, television production, and 

digital media. Wanting to go into the media industry, 

it was really important to me to be multifaceted and 

to have a lot of skills, and I felt like I could get that at 

Centennial College.”

I didn't even know how to turn it on, but we were filming 

on that very first day of school. Everything I did from the 

start was practical experience, whether it was doing live

Why did you decide to come to Canada from 

the Philippines? 

“I graduated high school in 2020. Due to the pandemic, 

I stayed at home and was planning to go back to studying in 

2021. I was thinking of taking a Psychology program in the 

Philippines. But my cousin, who is residing in Toronto and is now 

an alumni of Centennial College, told me that she was about to 

graduate and encouraged me to apply.” 

Why did you choose the Food and Beverage 

Management program? 

“I had a passion for food since I was a kid. I trained myself to 

cook during the pandemic, and it made me choose food and 

beverage as my field of study. When my cousin told me about 

Centennial, I researched the college and the testimonials were 

great. That’s why I only applied to Centennial — nowhere else!” 

What new skills did you gain in Food and Beverage 

Management? 

“The program offers culinary courses that widened my knowledge 

of cooking techniques and working in the kitchen safely. I didn't
