This phase should be approached with targeted crop rotation. It is also sensible to start by eliminating plowing. “When it comes to seeding, you can begin gradually or on a plot-by-plot basis through mulch seeding,” he advises. Patience and composure are also essential qualities in this process. After four years, the BIOGAS Convention & Trade Fair will be held live again in Nuremberg from December 12th to 14th, 2023, featuring both the conference and the trade fair. The transition of the energy supply to renewable sources and the uncertainties surrounding future political regulations pose significant challenges for the industry, not only in Germany but also worldwide. However, amidst these challenges, there are also opportunities! Never has biogas been so competitive and in demand in the energy markets as it is today. There is a huge need for information. Over 200 companies from more than 10 countries have registered, the range of exhibitors thus covers all the facets of the biogas industry. From planning and construction to optimization, flexibility, and efficient operations management, visitors to the trade fair will find tailored solutions to meet their individual needs. A standout feature, as in every year, is the presentation of new and enhanced product offerings and services. The opening is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. in hall 9 at the BIOGAS Expert Forum. Throughout the entire duration of the trade fair, visitors will have the opportunity to participate in enlightening discussions, as exhibiting companies provide complimentary expert presentations at the BIOGAS Expert Forum on all three days. Emphasizing key areas such as the “Biomethane Forum,” the “Fuel Forum” the “Substrate Forum” and the “Future Forum” these talks will be simultaneously translated into English (either through oral translation or transcription). The programme of the BIOGAS Convention will also begin on Tuesday 12 December starting at 10:30 a.m. with the international programme (lectures in English). Following an update on the EU policy perspectives for the biogas sector, the inaugural panel will explore a trending topic: Biomethane. The goals and outcomes of biomethane production within the scope of industrial partnerships will be presented. The subsequent presentation will explain the impact of the transformation of the European electricity market towards renewable energies, as discussed in the context of the new European electricity market design. The programme boasts a renewed inclusion of field reports and discussions on innovations, which are highly sought after by the international audience. The second panel will commence with a presentation by Reverion, an innovative start-up that demonstrates how “reversible fuel cells in biogas plants can enhance efficiency and yield”. Yet, the potential of biogas extends even further: it can play a pivotal role in “soil regeneration and carbon sequestration”. The closing panel will feature representatives from the ISO TC 255 group, underscoring the significance of establishing consistent global standards. The day will conclude with looking at how the German government assists developing countries in implementing their goals through support programmes and financing solutions. Presentations in German (without translation) will then follow on Wednesday 13 December and Thursday 14 December under the key topics “All-rounder Biogas – Where are you headed?”, “Biogas plants as a source of green gases” and “Biogas is more than electricity”. The popular evening event will take place at the NCC Mitte of NürnbergMesse on Wednesday, December 12, 2023, starting at 7:00 PM. This event provides a platform for visitors, exhibitors, and speakers to meet and exchange ideas in a relaxed atmosphere. The end of the fair is traditionally marked by an international excursion to two biogas facilities in the Nuremberg region, which will take place one day after the BIOGAS Convention & Trade Fair (Friday, December 15, 2023).
