How does your work capture the essence
of the unconventional?
In my creative journey, I avoid strict
boundaries, making sure that every move
respects the principle of consent. I enjoy
encouraging my collaborators to break
free from conventional norms, delving
into discussions about animal rights, and
emphasising the importance of veganism
in every photoshoot.
My passion lies in showcasing not
only the possibility but the necessity of
creating art without causing harm to
others.
To me, the true essence of art is lost
when it becomes entangled with the
exploitation of any sentient being,
whether human or nonhuman. It goes
beyond mere creation; it’s a joyful and
consensual expression, using one’s
body or others’, without violating their
fundamental rights. It’s a celebration of
inner creativity that doesn’t compromise
the well-being of any sentient being.
Could you elaborate on the level of
sophistication that Magdalena Piech’s
touch brings to “Bitter Moon”?
Magdalena Piech’s touch in “Bitter
Moon” is like adding a special flavour to
a recipe, a mix of elegance and
avant-garde vibes. Her knack for
choosing styles and telling stories visually
takes the project to a whole new level.
It’s the little things, the attention to
detail, and the way she blends different
elements that really make “Bitter Moon”
stand out.
Magda, being an artist with her own
unique style and loads of experience,
brought so much to the table. Our
combined vision, along with her creative
flair, played a huge part in shaping what
the shoot turned out to be!
How does your keen eye for detail infuse
purpose and passion into the images of
work?
In my images, each element, from
composition and colour grading to
symbolism, is thoughtfully selected to
enhance the narrative. Details are not just
aesthetic considerations but deliberate
choices that add layers of meaning. This
meticulous attention to detail, perhaps
stemming from my OCD, reflects my love
for scrutinizing every aspect of a picture.
It’s about making the exploration of my
photos both stimulating on a deeper level
and simply fun on the visual surface.
“Bitter Moon” sparks conversations by
pushing the boundaries of art, fashion,
and technology. What impact do you hope
the project will have on these creative
realms?
Through this project, my aim is to spotlight
the intersection of animal rights with art,
fashion, and technology. I firmly believe
that ethical art is inseparable from the
principles of consent and the rights of
all sentient beings. AI, as a powerful
tool, enables us to bring our creative
visions to life without infringing upon the
fundamental rights of others.
I hope this endeavour serves as inspiration
for fellow artists, fostering a future where
vegan art and fashion thrive, and any
practices rooted in animal exploitation
become a dark part of our history books.
What message or feeling do you hope
viewers take away from their encounter
with your extraordinary artwork?
I hope that viewers feel a sense of awe,
intrigue, and willingness to engage in a
dialogue about ethical considerations
in art, fashion, and technology. My
overarching goal is to initiate conversations
about animal rights, fostering a shift away
from viewing animals as mere resources.
The ultimate vision is a world where
animals are not considered property but
are recognised as sentient individuals,
entitled to subjecthood status, and
protected from enslavement and
exploitation. This project seeks to evoke a
spectrum of emotions, from sensuality to
provocation, with the hope that viewers
emerge empowered to challenge societal
norms, particularly those rooted in nonvegan
practices.
Animal rights are a logical extension
of human rights, rooted in our shared
capacity for subjective experiences
and sentience. Excluding individuals
based on their DNA is a moral stance
we must abolish if we aspire to create
a harmonious world where no one is
marginalised.
This is the essence I strive for in my work
— an experience that’s not only visually
enjoyable but also offers the delight of
discovering intricate details.
