David Smith and Steph McEwin. The<br />

performance starts at 7.<strong>30</strong>pm, door<br />

Manu Competition, Sunday, noon-2pm, at Waltham Summer Pool.<br />

Get amongst the fun and join in the manu competition to win prizes and<br />

become the Christchurch City Council manu champion. Four heats are<br />

being held at the pools across the city ahead of the grand final on January<br />

21 at Jellie Park. Enter in one of four categories: under 13s, 13-18 years,<br />

open female and adult. At the end of the competition season, the top three<br />

queens or kings of the manu will be awarded an official trophy and prizes.<br />

Spot prizes will also be distributed throughout the competition. The<br />

winners of the manu competition will get free entry to the Z Manu World<br />

Championships Ōtautahi Christchurch heat at Jellie Park in February<br />

2024. General pool admission price applies. Children aged 5-10 (inclusive)<br />

are required to complete a deep-water swim test before using the deep end<br />

of the main pool.<br />

Christmas Balls. You will leave this<br />

workshop with your own knitted<br />

Christmas Ball, the basic pattern and<br />

lots of motifs to continue at home<br />

with. This workshop is not suited for<br />

the absolute beginner: basic knitting<br />

skills such as casting on and<br />

off, increasing and decreasing are<br />

pre-requirements. If you can manage<br />

the basics and you are ready to tackle<br />

some colour work and knitting on<br />

double-pointed needles, this is for<br />

you! All materials are provided, please<br />

bring your own DP needles and wool<br />

if you prefer a certain colour.<br />
