RANGIORA SANTA PARADE &PARTY IN THE PARK<br />
The <strong>North</strong> <strong>Canterbury</strong> <strong>News</strong>, <strong>December</strong> 7, <strong>2023</strong><br />
Christmas celebrations in Rga<br />
Over 40 floats, ranging from amonster<br />
truck to the jolly man himself, Santa<br />
Claus, will ply the streets of Rangiora on<br />
Sunday, <strong>December</strong> 10.<br />
The parade, welcoming Santa to the<br />
town, starts at 2pm, but Rangiora’s<br />
festive celebrations will begin with a<br />
Christmas Party in the Park, at 12 noon.<br />
Rangiora Toyota is the principal<br />
sponsor of the parade which starts from<br />
the corner of Church and High Streets<br />
and travels down High Street, turning<br />
right on to Victoria Street, into Queen<br />
Street, stopping just past Victoria Park.<br />
Waimakariri Mayor Dan Gordon will<br />
judge the floats before the parade starts<br />
and the winner will be announced at the<br />
McAlpines Mitre 10 MEGA Rangiora<br />
Christmas Party in Victoria Park, after<br />
the parade.<br />
Compass FM will be on four route<br />
point chatting to the crowd and giving<br />
information on the floats as they pass by.<br />
The Party in the Park, at which Blair<br />
Holland will be the Master of<br />
Ceremonies, ends at 4pm.<br />
The four hours of fun will include<br />
bouncy castles, lawn games, and<br />
Christmas cookie decorating and more<br />
for children.<br />
Coffee, ice cream and food vendors will<br />
all be on site, along with market stalls<br />
offering agreat array of choices for<br />
Christmas presents and more.<br />
Santa will also visit, along with<br />
Superman.<br />
Children are encouraged to take a<br />
letter along for Santa to drop in to the<br />
<strong>North</strong> Pole mail sack.<br />
Music will fill the air with Funky Hot<br />
Mamas, and Phil Doublet entertaining,<br />
along with songs from local singers as<br />
well.<br />
It is afree event but adonation at the<br />
gate would be gratefully received.<br />
Karen Dugdale, the event organiser<br />
says Rangiora Promotions is incredibly<br />
grateful for the continued support of<br />
Rangiora Toyota and McAlpines Mitre 10<br />
MEGA Rangiora.<br />
