Students presented original research on the undermining
principles and mechanisms of exercise performance in human
subjects this past year. Two students presented at the Michigan
ACSM conference, two presented at the National ACSM conference,
and six presented at the Midwest ACSM conference.

Regional awards were presented to Josh Mayne (’24) and Jaye
Fuller (’26) by the Midwest Regional Chapter of ACSM. Mayne
received the undergraduate student research study project award,
and Fuller won the outstanding undergraduate student oral
presentation award.

Contact hours completed in 2023 by 41 student interns at 26
different sites in the greater Grand Rapids area. This included
physical therapy clinics, occupational therapy facilities, cardiac
rehabilitation programs, chiropractic clinics, professional sports
outlets, K-12 physical education, and more!
BSN PROGRAM AWARDED CCNE ACCREDITATION
Cornerstone’s pre-licensure Bachelor
of Science in Nursing program received
accreditation from the Commission on
Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
The five-year accreditation is retroactively
effective March 15, 2023, marking the date of
the CCNE’s site visit.

meets national standards while maintaining the ability to challenge future nurses
to view their patients and their profession through a Biblical worldview,” said Misty
Emmons, chief nursing administrator and assistant professor of nursing.
The first cohort of nursing degree candidates will graduate in May 2024.
