In Touch With Your Town Swaffham Town Council have been successful in obtaining grant funding from Breckland to hold community events in the town. The grant will fund live music events, flower displays and seasonal crafts that will decorate the Buttercross. Seasonal Decoration Crafts Swaffham Town Council have planned to use some of this funding to support the community with decorating the town with handcrafted items throughout the seasons. The project aims to decorate the historic Buttercross with knitted, crocheted and fabric items created by the community. The first focus is to create Spring flowers for March and April. improve community well-being and provide services to better the lives of the residents of Swaffham. Swaffham Town Council welcome any opportunity to hear the views of the community. EIBE EIBE contractors are due to return to Orford Road play area to replace the concrete outside of the under 8’s play area in January/February. TTSR Swaffham Town Council have signed a new contract with TTSR Limited for the maintenance of the open green spaces across the town. As part of this contract there will be wildflower areas being installed in Spring. Festival of Flowers Funding has been gained to create eye catching floral displays throughout the town, forming a trail across the town centre. Swaffham Town Council hope that this project will draw footfall to the town, benefitting the local shops/organisations. This project is due to be operational in late Spring, early Summer. LIVE in Swaffham LIVE in Swaffham is a project designed to bring a series of live music events to the town centre during market operating times to add some dynamic entertainment. Meet Your Councillors Coffee Drop In Thank you to those who came to the ‘Meet your Councillors Coffee drop in’. Swaffham Town Council are committed to working with the community to Woodland Trust Grant Swaffham Town Council have been granted three hundred saplings to plant at Orford Road from the Woodland Trust. The saplings will be delivered and planted in March. Tesco fund Thank you to all who supported the ‘Community Defibrillator’ Tesco grant. Swaffham Town Council will find out in due course how much will be contributed to the purchase of a community defibrillator.
