ANNUAL REPORT OF THE NATIONAL VICE PRESIDENT<br />

80 th NATIONAL CONVENTION, FRA<br />

31 OCTOBER – 3 NOVEMBER 2007, CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS<br />

Shipmate National President, National Officers, Past National Officers, and shipmates of the FRA, this past year has<br />

been one of the highlights of my life.<br />

Shortly after my return home from the 79th National Convention <strong>in</strong> Oconomowoc, Wiscons<strong>in</strong>, I had surgery on my<br />

left foot. I was diagnosed with Malignant Melanoma and it had to be removed. After five days <strong>in</strong> the hospital I was<br />

released and returned home for house rest. I was laid up to the extent that I could not put any weight or pressure on<br />

my foot for eight weeks. I am do<strong>in</strong>g great and the doctor has me on a 12 month check up schedule. I would like to<br />

thank the shipmates and ladies for the cards, emails and prayers dur<strong>in</strong>g my time of recovery.<br />

It has been a privilege and an honor to serve as your National Vice President. Dur<strong>in</strong>g the year, I have been fortunate<br />

enough to spend some time <strong>in</strong> every region and visit branches <strong>in</strong> four of the regions. I would like to say “thank you”<br />

to the shipmates and ladies for the gracious hospitality shown to me dur<strong>in</strong>g my travels.<br />
