Administering the FRA Scholarship Program is a major NHQ evolution each year. The program is under the oversight
of Vince Cuthie, former Manager, Information Systems (MIT), and now part-time Scholarship Coordinator.
The 2007 Scholarship Committee included DADM Alicia Landis; Contributing Editor Lauren Armstrong, and Shipmates
Harry Kantrovich (Branch 181) and Orin Hatton (Branch 181). In addition, Laura Chick keypunched applicant’s
data into a spreadsheet utilized by the selection committee. FRA awarded 21 scholarships this year to FRA
Shipmates and/or their spouses, dependents, and grandchildren totaling $90,000 (Enclosure 6).
FRA is fortunate and extremely grateful for the scholarship donations made by GEICO, Ft. Wayne Branch 348, the
Col. Benn Estate and the Doran, Moon, Blair, Pringle, Treadwell, Quielsch, and Turner families. Their significant
contributions to FRA’s scholarship program enhance our program and greatly benefit the recipients.
