God wants to heal His people. Be one of people who will

receive their healing!

God has a good purpose with the life of every person living on earth.

That‟s why God in His word in the book of the prophet Jeremiah 29:11

says: "For I know the purposes which I am purposing for you, says

Jehovah; purposes of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a

hope." Many people in these last days we are living in do not know the

will of God about healing. Some think sickness and diseases come from

God, as a tool He uses to perfect us. However on contrary the word of God

in both Old Testament and New Testament, tells us that He is the healing

God (Exodus 15:26b, Isaiah 53:4-5, 1 Peter 2:24).

THIS BOOK WILL HELP YOU TO:

Know the will of god about divine healing for your life.

Remove things that hinder you from receiving your

healing.

Walk in divine health and to prosper in your body.

Learn causes of sicknesses and infirmities

Defeat power of darkness that brings sickness.

Minister healing to others.

Teach others to receive god’s healing through faith.

To know your true identity in Christ and to grow your

faith

Introduction

This book will help you to receive healing. Jesus Christ paid for your

healing fully, with His stripes, therefore healing is yours now. This book

is written for all people who want to receive God‟s healing, either as a

Christian or not. Healing is not something you get by working for it; it is a

gift that is free from God the Father, for all the people. Most of this book

is full of the word of God as it is, not translated: many scriptures of

healing from the Bible in a clear way. It also includes personalised

scriptures for you to confess them with your mouth (confess them in faith

loudly).

This book does not teach about healing in all its dimensions. The purpose

here is not to talk about everything that the Bible teaches about healing,

which is the will of God but, it‟s to give healing scriptures to be received

in an easy way, so that the Holy Spirit will open up your spiritual eyes to

receive healing God provided for you through faith in Jesus Christ. Here

we take God from His word, knowing that He won‟t lie therefore we believe

that forgiveness and healing has been given for all people, who believe the

word of God and receive it in their hearts. There are many ways of

receiving healing, I thank God for all of them. I stand for everything that

recommends life; therefore according to the revelation of the Bible, I

believe that God recommends divine health. The way that all people can

receive healing is by believing the word of God and taking it as medicine.

This book is based on this way of receiving healing.

Many people think the only way of receiving healing of God, is by being

prayed for by someone through laying on of hands. When someone who

has a strong faith transfers healing of God to you, that will help to

quicken (accelerate, speed up) your faith in your spiritual journey of life.

But doing so is like getting jumpers when the battery of your car does not

have power (fire), that might give you power but, in order for you to

continue to run in your journey you need to stir up your faith on the

inside. It is not wrong to depend on someone when your faith is still

growing.

But it‟s not appropriate to think you will continue leaning on someone‟s

faith, to get what you need from God all the time. God is expecting that

we should all grow so that we can take responsibility for our lives as

iv

Jesus Christ be honoured and praised for all He has done for us. Glory

and praise be to God in the highest. There are no sicknesses and diseases

in heaven. God wants us to be prosperous in all things, be in health even

as our soul prospers (3 John 1:2).

God‟s will which includes healing and divine health, be done in our lives

as it is in heaven (Matthew 6:10).

If you have not yet accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and

Saviour, now is the time to receive Him today, so that your sins will

washed by the blood of Jesus and be forgiven. Thousands of people die

every day without Christ, and perish into the pit of hell but this is not the

will of God.

The word of God says "The Lord is not slow concerning His promise, as

some count slowness, but is long-suffering toward us, not purposing that

any should perish, but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9).

Jesus answered and said to him, truly, truly, I say to you, unless a man

is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God (John 3:3 MKJV). Being

born again a mandatory requirement for entering heaven, there no one

will enter heaven without being born again through the word of God and

the Holy Spirit. For you to be saved, please make the following prayer in

faith to surrender whole life to God:

Dear Heavenly Father I come to You in the Name of Jesus. Your Word says, All that the Father gives

me shall come to me and him that comes to me I will in no wise cast out" (John 6:37 MEVB), so I

know You won't cast me out, but You take me in and I thank You for it. You said in Your Word,

"Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved" (Rom. 10:13). I am calling on Your

Name, so I know You have saved me now. You also said, because if you confess the Lord Jesus, and

believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved. For with the heart one

believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth one confesses unto salvation (Romans 10:9, 10). I

believe in my heart Jesus Christ is the Son of God. I believe that He was raised from the dead for my

justification, and I confess Him now as my Lord. Because Your Word says, "For with the heart man

has faith to get righteousness, and with the mouth he says that Jesus is Lord to get salvation" and I do

believe with my heart, I have now become the righteousness of God in Christ (2 Cor. 5:21)... And I am

saved! Thank You Lord!

Conclusion

God had already made a provision for your healing, before you were born

on this earth, when Jesus Christ was crucified on the cross of Calvary (1

Peter 2:24). However you still have to receive your healing by faith in

Jesus Christ. Faith is the hand that receives what God has already

provided by grace. Faith believes what God speaks regardless of prevailing

circumstances or emotions present. Receiving by faith means to take,

because faith does not beg but receives what God has already provided.

Take what is already yours by faith in Christ.

Your faith will grow as you continue to speak verses from the word of

God, in this book with boldness and persistence. When you continue to

meditate and confess the word of God, you will reap healing and divine

health in your body. The word of God works like a seed which dies in the

soil and germinate to bring a harvest to the sower. God always

accomplishes His word as He after it, to perform it.

And Jehovah said to me, you have seen well; for I will watch over My

Word to perform it (Jeremiah 1:12).

Sir Francis Bacon said, Some books are to be tasted, others to be

swallowed, and some few to be chewed and digested: that is, some books

are to be read only in parts, others to be read, but not curiously, and

some few to be read wholly, and with diligence and attention. This is one

of those books to be chewed and digested. It is to be studied and enjoyed.

This book is not to be read only once and be set aside. It is to be used

daily as spiritual food together with the Bible, even when you are not

sick. The reason being that the word of God is to be read slowly,

repeatedly and be stored in the heart because, it has supernatural power

to bring healing to the spirit, soul and body.

individuals. Even if you receive healing by the faith of someone or his

ministry, truths in this book are still essential for you to get them. In the

world that we live in there are sicknesses and infirmities, therefore your

faith needs to stay on fire (stirred up). You are not supposed to depend on

the faith of other people, because they won‟t always be there when you

have needs.

But the word of God is the medicine that is freely available to all people,

full of the divine healing power, to renew your mind and your body. There

is a popular adage that says, "don‟t give a person fish but teach a person

to fish so that he can fish for life." I find those words to be true in the

area of divine healing. Even if the doctors have given you a bad report

about your health condition, this book will give you a second report

directly from God that "you were healed by the stripes of Jesus Christ

before you even existed." It is my firm trust and hope that this book will

help to grow your faith especially in the area of healing, the Holy Spirit

will quicken (open, amplify) your spiritual eyes, reveal to you that God

wants you to prosper in everything and be in health even as your soul

prospers (3 John1:2).

The medicine of God is not like other natural medicines which can be

dangerous to our lives when overdosed, the word of God when overdosed

bring whole healing and divine health. When the symptoms of sickness

increases drink this medicine more. The medicine of God is very powerful

when you drink it daily; it prevents sickness and infirmities before they

are manifested in your body.

This wonderful medicine of God is supposed to be shared with other

people. All the people that you love are supposed to have this book in

their homes, read it daily, keep the word of God in their hearts and they

will have a harvest of restoration and divine healing of God. Our Lord

CHAPTER 1

HEALING IS ALREADY YOURS

Healing is already yours now. Jesus Christ paid a big price for your

healing. What you have to do is to find out how you can receive it.

Healing is available for you as a free gift from God. You are not supposed

to convince God to heal you. God loves you and He has already made a

provision for your healing. Healing is yours. What you are supposed to do

is to believe and receive healing as a gift from God. You are not supposed

to work for it. Jesus has already paid a full price for your healing. He lost

His entire life.

He Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that dying to sins,

we might live to righteousness; by whose stripes you were healed (1Pe

2:24 MKJV).

The Bible is clear that Jesus Christ has paid for healing of our bodies;

simultaneously He paid for our sins on the cross of Calvary.

Jesus paid for us all to be healed. But if we rebel against God and refuse

to heed His instruction, we are choosing to reject God‟s gracious gifts.

While His healing power may come every time, by refusing to listen to

God, we also open the door for sickness to come back on us. God‟s

medicine is meant to change your thinking so that you will think, talk,

and act in line with what God says in His Word. (Even medical science

has proven that our thoughts and our words affect our physical bodies.) A

primary way God‟s medicine works is by changing us to think, talk and

act like Yahweh (Jehovah) our Father.

9.38 Why doesn’t my church teach this?

A prevalent idea is: “If our group doesn‟t teach it, then it can‟t be true.”

This can be a deadly mistake. We all have much to learn. Even the

Apostle Paul, who was taught directly by Jesus Himself, said he only

knew in part. The devil has robbed Christians because we have not

clearly understood healing. Your teachers and church leaders are

probably compassionate and well-meaning individuals. But people

generally just teach what they were taught. If their teachers did not

understand about healing, it‟s unrealistic to expect they will either.

Surely He has borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed

Him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our

transgressions; He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our

peace was on Him; and with His stripes we ourselves are healed (Isaiah

53:4-5).

These verses in Isaiah declared before time of manifestation what would

take place, which is the great sacrifice of Jesus Christ, on the cross to

pay for freedom of everyone, from the curse of the law caused by Adam in

the Garden of Eden. As you can clearly see the payment was for both

healing and sins. In the gospel of Matthew 8:17 we have an encouraging

account of the Holy Spirit testifying about the truth that Isaiah 53:3-4

includes the healing of our bodies. That it might be fulfilled which was

spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: "He Himself took our infirmities

and bore our sicknesses." and when Jesus saw great multitudes about

Him, He gave a command to depart to the other side (Matthew 8:16-

17NKJV).

In order for us to be able to receive forgiveness of our sins, we should

believe that Jesus Christ has paid for them. In order for us to be able to

receive healing we should believe that Jesus Christ has paid for it on the

cross. Even though Jesus Christ has paid for your healing He won‟t force

you to receive it. You will still have to receive it by faith in order to access

1

74

By not using our God-given dominion on this earth, we, not God, let the

devil bring sickness, disease and death on ourselves and our loved ones.

All sickness and disease are from the devil and not from God. Many are

sick because they have given place to spirits of infirmity through sin,

disobedience, or by ignoring principles of good health and nutrition.

Ephesians 4:27 Nor give place to the devil.

Using our restored authority, we can resist the devil, the spirits of

infirmity, or the sickness which have come, and they will flee from us.

James 4:7 Submit to God Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

Believers have authority to cast out the spirit of infirmity, and to heal all

kinds of sickness and disease.

Matthew 10:1 And when He had called His twelve disciples to Him, He

gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all

kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease.

The only things the devil can do to us today is what we are letting him do.

The question shouldn't be, “Why is God letting this happen?” Instead it

should be, “Why are we letting this happen?”

9.36 What about all the bad pollution in the world: chemicals and

toxins that make us sick?

We should endeavour to live a healthy lifestyle and take care of the bodies

God has given us. We cannot avoid all the bad in the world, but God‟s

power is certainly able to overcome its effects. No matter what has caused

your sickness, the power of God is sufficient to cure it.

9.37 Does this mean I can just read the healing Scriptures each day

and continue my unhealthy lifestyle and still expect to stay

healthy?

When people are in a situation they have no control over, God seems to

supply extra grace to compensate. But when people know what is right,

but refuse to do what they know they should do, the results are usually

not good. While we cannot “earn” our healing by keeping any list of rules,

no one should be deceived into thinking they can ignore God‟s instruction

and continue to avoid any bad consequences.

73

it. Because God will allow everything you allow in your life, because you

have been given the right to choose and no one can take it away from

you.

Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in

heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven

(Matthew 18:18 NKJV).

Many people have not yet received their healing because; they don‟t

understand that they have to get the revelation of God about healing first,

so that God can enlighten eyes of their understanding, to obtain their

healing. They don‟t realise that God has already given us healing through

the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross. It is unnecessary to ask God for

what He has already provided. There is no need to make promises to God

or to ask for what God has already given you. You should just receive it

by faith. God has already provided you with all the healing you need, so

there is no need to ask Him for another healing. If you don‟t believe the

word of God that He has already given you healing, is really the same as

calling God a liar.

It is not everyone who believes that Jesus Christ suffered and died for

their sin, just as not everyone believes that Jesus Christ suffered and

died for their healing. Those who refuse to believe cut themselves off from

blessings they could enjoy. But whoever will believe, no matter how much

they have sinned, or how sick they are, can receive forgiveness and

healing. God has already provided for your healing and health, but you

must still receive that provision by faith. That means you must believe

what God said. Of course, you must first know what God said, in order to

believe what He said. That‟s why the healing Scriptures are in this book,

so you can know the truth.

God is not mad at you. He has forgiven you. He is for you not against you.

It‟s His will for you to be healed whoever you are.

God does not withhold healing from anyone. It‟s the devil who tries to

stop it (through ignorance, doubt, unbelief, confusion, and

discouragement). But the devil is defeated and must yield to God‟s Word

spoken in faith from the mouth of a believer. Sickness is your enemy

whose purpose is to steal from you and kill you (John 10:10). But you

have authority over all sickness through what Jesus Christ did for you.

God loved you so much that He sent Jesus as your substitute, suffering

and dying in your place, to set you free from the curse, which includes all

sickness and disease. Now Jesus Christ is alive, and He is Lord over all,

so sickness and disease must yield to the mighty authority of Jesus‟

Name.

2

As a believer you have the right to use the authority of Jesus‟ Name to

command every sickness to leave you. All healing is a process that

happens through time as you continually improve in health. With God,

healing can sometimes be so speeded up that to us it seems almost

instant, but this is not the normal way God‟s healing works. Jesus taught

us that God‟s kingdom works like a seed planted in the ground which

grows and produces over time (Matthew 13:31).

The important thing and what God‟s Word promises, is the end result, not

how long it takes. Healing Is Already Yours. Many people who have not

understood that healing from God is a process involving time, have given

up their faith when they did not have an instant miracle recovery. Don‟t

let the devil steal from you, through this wrong thinking, what Jesus paid

for you to have!

The Bible tells us that healing is ours, because Jesus paid for it. But the

Bible never says we will all receive healing instantly. Sometimes it can be

very quick and we know it is a miracle. Other times it can take a while,

but no matter how long it takes, we have the promise of God that healing

is ours, giving us divine assurance that we will be healthy and whole! Yes,

healing from God‟s Word comes in “seed form” which has to be planted in

your heart to see its full fruit. But, once planted and watered, God‟s living

Word will bring healing and health to all your flesh. To heal is to make

sound or whole, to restore to health. This is what God does through His

Word in our lives and in our bodies when we allow Him, because it is His

nature.

This book emphasizes only one of the many ways we can receive God‟s

healing which is through His Word. Since God is a healer, everything He

made has some healing virtue in it, and therefore God‟s healing can come

to you in many ways. Nutritious food, clean water, fresh air, and

sunshine all promote health.

Many sicknesses can be overcome simply by taking in these healthy

nutrients God has provided for us. The human body is designed by God

to heal itself when we give it what it needs. But even if you are missing

some needed nutrition, God‟s Word can still bring you healing. The Word

that created the human body can bring it healing. Never forget, or doubt:

healing belongs to you now, because Jesus already paid for it, and gave it

to you as a free gift! So don‟t let the devil steal healing and health from

you!

3

Deuteronomy 34:7 Moses was one hundred and twenty years old when he

died. His eyes were not dim nor his natural vigor abated.

Another example of a person who died without being sick is an American

bible teacher, preacher, farmer and author Charles Capps. On Friday

February 21, 2014 Charles Capps told his wife Peggy that he would be

"going home" on Sunday. He went to bed on Saturday night and woke up

in heaven about 5:30 Sunday morning, February 23, 2014. This is a man

who lived what he preached even in his final moments on earth.

Many people in the Bible died without sickness. But no matter how you

die, as a believer in Jesus Christ, you can know you are headed to

Heaven to be with Jesus for all eternity, and He will receive you with love,

acceptance, and forgiveness. What a wonderful hope Jesus has given us

because of His great love for us!

When an older person is sick, it is God's will for them to be healed. When

it is God's time, their spirit will leave their body and their heart will stop

beating.

9.35 Does God Let It Happen? Does God “let” sickness or premature

death come on His people?

Many blame God when sickness or death comes, saying “Why did God let

this happen?” Adam and Eve were given authority and dominion over all

that happens on this earth when they were created in God's image.

Genesis 1:26a Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according

to Our likeness; let them have dominion.”

The authority or dominion which was lost when Adam and Eve sinned

was restored by Jesus.

Matthew 16:19 And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and

whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you

loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.

Sickness comes through Satan's power, but Jesus said believers today

have power (or authority) over the power of the enemy.

Luke 10:19 Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and

scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any

means hurt you.

72

experience is a harsh teacher. For those of you who would rather not

learn the hard way, here‟s the lesson: It is always Satan‟s intention to

harm us; it is always God‟s intention to bless us. When you confuse the

latter with the former, your reality will be defined by a lie making it

virtually impossible to receive all that God has for you.

9.32 Is sickness one of the ways that God works things together for

our good?

Many have been taught that sickness is one of the “all things” Paul said is

to work together for our good.

Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to those

who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

The New International Version gives us a clearer understanding of this

Scripture. It says, We know that in all things God works for the good of

those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose. The

emphasis is “in” all things God works for our good. It isn't that all things

work together for our good. Instead, “in all things” or “in our sickness,”

the work of God's healing power will be the good produced.

9.33 Does the Bible say Paul's thorn was sickness?

Through a misunderstanding of the Scripture, some have taught that the

Apostle Paul's thorn in the flesh was a severe eye disease. However, Paul

wrote that his thorn was an evil spirit; a messenger of Satan sent to

buffet or harass him.

2 Corinthians 12:7 And lest I should be exalted above measure by the

abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a

messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I be exalted above measure.

Nowhere, does the Bible teach Paul's thorn in the flesh was a physical

illness.

9.34 When God is ready to take us home, do we need to get sick to

die?

If it is God's will we live in health everyday of our lives, why would He

make it necessary we get sick to die? Moses is a wonderful example! He

was one hundred and twenty years old when God called him home. His

health was so good he was still able to climb the mountain to meet God.

He had lost none of his eyesight or natural strength.

71

Sample Prayer

Father God, your Word, the Holy Bible, says healing was provided for me

through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. I believe you are not a liar. So, by

faith in what you said in the Bible, I accept your forgiveness and healing

now, as a free gift. I know I don’t deserve it because of anything I have

done, but I thank you for giving it to me because of Jesus. I say that Jesus

Christ is Lord of my life and my body. He rose from death, victorious over

satan, sin, and sickness. So, all sickness and disease, I command you in

the Name of Jesus to leave my body now.

Leave me alone, satan! Jesus Christ is now my Lord. I believe healing and

health is mine because of what Jesus did for me, and I receive it, as a gift

from God, complete healing for my entire body now. Body of mine, I speak

to you and command you in Jesus’ Name to be healed, healthy, and whole.

Thank You Lord Jesus that your healing power is working in my body now.

Thank You for healing me!

"Medicine" is a word that we use today, to explain what brings us healing

and health when we are sick. That is why we say the written word of God

can be explained as medicine. Many a time doctors give us medicine to

drink when we are in a process of healing. Literally God has given us His

word to take as free medicine every day without paying. If you can be

honest to take the word of God as medicine, the same way you do when

using doctor‟s medication, you will reap good fruits. The word of God

works by you taking it into your body. This you do by listening to the

word of God, reading it, meditating on it day and night and by confessing

it by faith. Meditating the word of God includes saturating your mind

with the word of God, thoughts of God and confessing it in your life.

Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble,

whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are

4

lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if

there is anything praiseworthy--meditate on these things (Philippians 4:8

NKJV).

These are the thoughts and feelings of God which our minds are

supposed to be filled with continually, so that the power of the word of

God can be active in our lives, to bring healing and divine health.

He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their

Destructions (Psalm 107:20).

The word of God will accomplish what God has sent it to do, which is to

bring healing and health. It works as a seed to bring harvest of blessing

in your life if you keep it in your heart through meditation.

informed Job that “the Almighty God will not afflict” (Job 37:23; 38:1-2;

42:7-10). Job himself later repented for speaking accusations against God

which were not right (Job 40:3-5; 42:3; 42:5).

For as long as Job lived in fearful religion, trusting in the sacrifices of his

own hands, he was setting himself up for disaster. But when he finally

shut up and repented of his stupid theology, he opened the door to the

blessings of God. The lesson we take from Job is worth repeating: the

Devil is bad but our Father is good and He loves us and desires to bless

us.

The entire time period of Job's affliction lasted about 9 months. Then, the

Lord turned the captivity of Job and restored his fortunes, when he prayed

for his friends; also the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.

(Job 42:10, AMP). In the end God turned Job's captivity. God considered

Job to be in captivity to Satan. This means God was not causing or

allowing evil to happen to Job, unless He is a schizophrenic bully, first

causing harm, to later cure it. God set him free, gave back all he had lost

and then doubled it! You see a bad devil who takes away (robs and steals)

and a good God who is a giver of good and perfect things (James 1:17). If

anybody claims they are going through a “Job experience” but they do not

come out twice as rich and blessed on the other side, then they have not

really experienced what Job went through, but instead experienced

firsthand what it's like to be robbed by the devil: The thief does not come

except to steal, and to kill and to destroy. I have come that they may have

life, and that they may have it more abundantly (till it overflows) (John

10:10). These are the only two Job descriptions in the Bible - it's up to

you to decide who is responsible for which.

Job thought God was behind his loss for he said: “The LORD gave and the

LORD has taken away; may the name of the LORD be praised.” (Job 1:21)

The truth is, God does not give and take away. The only thing He will take

off you if you let Him is your sin, shame, and sickness. He is an

extraordinary giver who never takes back his gifts (James. 1:17). “God‟s

gifts and God‟s call are under full warranty never cancelled, never

rescinded.” (Romans 11:29, MSG). So if God is doing the giving, who is

doing the taking? Again, Jesus provides the answer in John 10:10. One is

a giver (God); the other is a taker (devil). If you have been given something

good, then give thanks to God. But if you‟ve been robbed, don‟t blame

God. He‟s not behind your loss.

5

Why is Job‟s story in the Bible? It is not there so we can look to him as a

role model (we have Jesus!) but so that we might learn from his example.

Those who don‟t learn by example tend to learn by experience and

70

why didn‟t God stop the Devil?” Good question. We might also ask, “Why

doesn‟t God stop earthquakes or famines or wars?”

The answer is, not everything that happens is God‟s responsibility. He left

the planet in Adam‟s control and Adam handed it to the Devil. Satan went

for Job because he could. When God said, “All that he has is in thy

power” (Job 1:12), He wasn‟t handing Job over to Satan - God doesn‟t do

deals with the devil! - He was simply stating a fact. The whole

unredeemed “world is under the control of the evil one” (1 John 5:19). Job

was without protection from Satan or the effects of sin because he was

not in the New Covenant. God doesn‟t give Satan ever permission to cause

suffering.

Another important aspect is that Satan, not God, is the one who attacked

Job's health, causing the suffering (Job 2:7). So for anyone to say that he

is trying to hold on to his sickness, just like how God had given Job

would be unbiblical. The three friends, Zophar, Eliphaz and Bildad, claim

that if something bad happens to someone, it must be because they did

something bad. If something good happens, it must be because they did

something good. Using this theology, they try to get Job to admit what he

has done wrong. God rebukes all of the religious-sounding “advice” and

“comfort” that all of “Job‟s friends” had to say and even ends up saying

“they have not spoken truth about me” (Job 38:2, 42:7). Job himself also

accused God of quite some awful things.

If I called and He answered me, I would not believe that He was listening

to my voice. For He crushes me with a tempest, and multiplies my wounds

without cause. He will not allow me to catch my breath, But fills me with

bitterness (Job 9:16-18). God throws me into a pit with filth and even my

clothes are ashamed of me. If God were human, I could answer him; we

could go to court to decide our quarrel. But there is no one to step between

us no one to judge both God and me. Stop punishing me, God! Keep your

terrors away! (Job 9:31-34, GNB). Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him

(Job 13:15a).

Job claimed that God was responsible for bringing disaster and suffering

upon him, yet he would still trust God. This sounds an awful lot like

those who accuse God for killing their children or loved ones, but say, “I

still trust God.” Come on, wake up! If God were responsible for doing

such things, why would you even want to have a relationship with Him?

How can you trust someone that murders your loved ones? Who would

want to hang out with an unreliable, quick-tempered, angry serial killer?

God doesn‟t kill His children. Elihu, the only person in the whole book of

Job who wasn't rebuked as speaking “words without knowledge,” rightly

CHAPTER 2

GOD’S WORD IS MEDICINE

Medicine is something that treats, prevents or alleviates symptoms of

diseases. The word of God is a medicine freely available to all people. It

has power to remove symptoms of diseases and to bring divine health, to

make people whole and sound. This medicine works effectively in all

circumstances that afflict mankind. You can take the word of God as

medicine without fear of overdose because, it does not have negative after

effects like other natural medicines. On contrary when you take this

supernatural medicine of God you will reap healing and divine health.

You don‟t have to buy it, since it is free. Christ has already paid for it

through His life on the cross of Calvary. Therefore like other medicines

the word of God must be taken (to be read, to be believed with the heart,

to be meditated and confessed with the mouth) so that it can work in our

spirit, soul and body. The medicine that is put on the shelf has never

healed any person. You are supposed to drink the medicine according to

the prescriptions of the doctor, so that it can be effective.

Here are the directions:

My child (son), pay attention to my words; listen closely to what I say

(bend your ear to my speech). Don‟t ever forget my words (let your eyes

slip); keep them always in mind (guard them in your heart). They are the

key to life (life) for those who find them; they bring health to the whole

body. Be careful what you think (above all that you guard, protect your

heart), because your thoughts run your life (life flows from it) (Proverbs

4:20-23, EXB).

Verse 22 tells us that the words of God will bring healing to our whole

body. The way in which the medicine of God works is when you take it

through your whole being. This you do by listening to the word of God,

reading it, meditating it and confessing it day and night. Meditating on

the word of God includes saturating your mind and heart with the word

of God and confessing the word of God in your life.

Powerful Medicine

To understand how this prescription works, you should realize that the

word of God is more than just good information. It actually has life in it.

As Jesus said in John 6:63 It is the Spirit Who gives life (He is the Lifegiver);

the flesh conveys no benefit whatever [there is no profit in it]. The

words (truths) that I have been speaking to you are spirit and life (AMP).

Every time you take the Word into your heart, believe it and act on it, that

life of which Jesus spoke, the very LIFE of God Himself is released in you.

You may have read the healing scriptures over and over again. You may

know them as well as you know your own name. Yet every time you read

them or hear them preached, they bring you a fresh dose of God's healing

power. Each time, they bring life to you and deliver God's medicine to

your flesh.

That‟s because the Word is like a seed. Hebrews 4:12 says it is “alive and

full of power—making it active, operative, energizing and effective;it is

sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating to the dividing line of the

breath of life (soul) and the (the immortal) spirit, and of joints and

marrow (of the deepest parts of our nature), exposing and sifting and

analyzing and judging the very thoughts and purposes of the heart” (The

Amplified Bible).

It actually carries within it the power to fulfill itself. When you planted the

Word about the new birth in your heart, then believed and acted on it,

that Word released within you the power to be born again. By the same

token, when you plant the Word about healing in your heart, believe and

act on it, that Word will release God's healing power in you.

"But, Bob," you may say, "I have met people who know the Bible from

cover to cover and still can't get healed!" No doubt you do. But if you'll

look back at God's prescription, you'll find it doesn't say anything about

"knowing" the Bible. It says, attend to the Word. When you attend to

something, you give your attention to it. You make it top priority. You set

aside other things so you can focus on it. When a nurse is attending to a

patient, she regularly looks after him. She doesn't just leave him lying

alone in his hospital room while she goes shopping. If someone asks her

about her patient, she doesn't feel it's sufficient to say, "Oh, yes. I know

him." In the same way, if you're attending to the Word, you won't leave it

lying unopened on the coffee table all day. You won't spend your day

focusing your attention on other things. On the contrary, you'll do what

Proverbs 4 says to do. You'll continually incline your ear to God's Word.

Inclining your ear includes more than just putting your physical ears in a

7

fickle God who makes a man blind for the purpose of healing his

blindness, this passage reveals a loving God who sent His Son to manifest

His works by healing a man oppressed by the devil.

9.31 Consider Job: isn’t suffering God’s will?

No. No. No. The Bible book Job has been the cause of much blame to fall

on God. Misunderstanding the story of Job and his friends has caused

many Christians to view God as the cause of evil or even allowance of evil

in their lives, therefore blaming Him for anything bad that happens to

them, thinking: “if He allowed it to happen to Job, He will allow it to

happen to me” Some will even go as far as saying, “Job was tried and

tested (assumed by God) to see how steadfast his faith in God would be.” I

cringe hearing such accusations against God. Let‟s consider Job. Job

wasn‟t saved. He wasn‟t filled with the Holy Spirit. He had some

understanding of God but he was also a fearful and superstitious man

filled with self pity and not a little self-righteousness (see Job 32:1).

Don‟t ever compare yourself to Job! Jesus didn‟t die on the cross to give

you Job‟s life but His life. It is Christ who lives in you, not Job. Job never

had the benefit of the New Covenant with God since Jesus had not yet

gone to Calvary in his lifetime. Therefore, next time when someone asks

us the questions regarding divine healing, “What about Job?” Then we

can confidently say, “Yes, what about Job?” Job and I are totally different.

Plus, God does not inflict death and sickness on us to teach us stuff. God

is more than capable of disciplining (i.e., training) us through His Word (2

Timothy 3:16).

But in Job 1:8 God seems to set Job up for suffering, allowing Satan to do

his “dirty work.” Then the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered My

servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and

upright man, one who fears God and shuns evil?” (NIV).

“Surely God could have stopped Satan. Surely God set Job up by boasting

about him.” Actually neither is true. Read the Job account in a literal

translation such as Young‟s and you will see that Satan came gunning for

him: And Jehovah saith unto the Adversary, “Hast thou set thy heart

against My servant Job because there is none like him in the land, a man

perfect and upright, fearing God, and turning aside from evil?” (Job 1:8,

YLT). Modern translations read “Have you considered My servant Job,”

instead of “have you set your heart against My servant “Job.” Can you see

how we can come to the wrong conclusion?! God did not present or offer

Job to Satan, as most believe! Satan had set his heart against Job. “So

68

the man setting a beautiful example of never blaming the sick but taking

action to help those who are hurting.

Unfortunately, rather than blame the victim, some people still use this

passage to blame God for the man‟s blindness and the way it reads in

most translations does make it seem as if God made the man blind so

that He could heal him and be glorified thereby. From this thinking,

many doctrinal teachings have arisen about how sickness and other

problems in our lives are actually blessings from God intended to bring

glory to God and correction to us. This reason, however, is not Biblical.

So why then does this verse seem to say that the man‟s blindness was for

the purpose of manifesting God‟s work? Because it was translated that

way from the Greek by modern translators. But, thankfully, it does not

have to be translated that way. This traditional rendering stems from a

theology dictating that God is in control of everything that happens on

earth, whatever happens is His master plan unfolding as He always knew

it would.

However, the verse should not be interpreted as suggesting that God‟s will

is behind this man‟s blindness. The original text does not say that “he

was born blind so that God‟s works might be revealed.” Rather, “he was

born blind, but let the works of God be displayed in him.” So the whole

passage would read as follows: “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his

parents, that he was born blind?” “Neither this man nor his parents

sinned,” Jesus answered, “but let the works of God be displayed in him. I

must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day: the night comes,

when no man can work.”

Jesus shows us that the question to ask is not, “Who sinned?” but “What

can we do to help the situation?” He‟s not saying, “This man is born blind

caused by God so God can heal him and be glorified.” How illogical does

that sound anyway? A kingdom divided against itself cannot stand,

Matthew 12:25. If God heals but also makes sick, His Kingdom is divided.

Therefore He doesn‟t cause sickness. Rather, Jesus is revealing His

mission and Father God. He‟s basically saying, “Guys, lay your desire to

point fingers at who is to blame aside, now let Me reveal why I am here,

God‟s nature and work is going to be displayed in this boy‟s healing.” And

He healed him. He‟s not talking about this boy born this way so Jesus

can heal and God be glorified. Jesus modelled what he came to do to

destroy the work of the devil and heal those oppressed by him. He said,

“Let the works of God be displayed in him,” showing compassion for the

man. Then he turned to his disciples and reminded them that they must

work the works of God while it is day. Rather than painting a picture of a

67

position to hear the Word being preached (although that, in itself, is very

important). It also requires you to actively engage with God's Word, to

believe it and obey it.

In actual fact, The Amplified Bible translates Proverbs 4:20, this way: "My

son, attend to my words; consent and submit to my sayings." Submitting

to the Word means making adjustments in your life. Say, for example,

you hear the Word in Philippians 4:4 that you are to "rejoice in the Lord

always." If you've been doing a lot of whining and complaining, you'll have

to change in order to submit to that Word. You'll have to repent and alter

your behaviour.

Take as Directed

In addition to inclining your ear to the Word of God, the Proverbs 4

prescription also says you must keep it before your eyes and not let it

depart from your sight. In Matthew 6:22-23, Jesus reveals why that's so

important. He says, The eye is the lamp of the body. So if your eye is

sound, your entire body will be full of light. But if your eye is unsound,

your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the very light in you [your

conscience] is darkened, how dense is that darkness!

Your eyes are the doorway to your body. If your eye (or your attention) is

on the darkness, or the sickness that is in your body, there will be no

light to expel it. If, however, the eyes of your heart are trained strictly on

the Word, your whole body will eventually be filled with light and healing

will be the result. It is known, that it is not easy to keep your attention

fixed on the Word like that. It takes real effort and commitment. It may

require getting up a little earlier in the morning to make a devotional or

turning off the television at night to feast on the word and pray. But I

urge you to do whatever it takes to take God's medicine exactly as

directed.

Medicine of God won’t work any other way

That really shouldn't be so surprising. After all, we wouldn't expect

natural medication to work for us if we didn't take it as prescribed. No

rational person would set a bottle of pills on the night stand and expect

those pills to heal them. No one would call the doctor and say, "Hey, doc!

These pills don't work. I've carried them with me everywhere I go--I keep

them in the car with me, I set them on my desk at work, I even have them

next to me when I sleep at night--but I don't feel any better."That would

be ridiculous. Yet, spiritually speaking, some people do it all the time.

They cry and pray and beg God to heal them, all the while ignoring the

medicine He's provided. (They might take a quick dose on Sunday when

8

they go to church, but the rest of the week they don't take time for the

Word at all!)

Why do people who love God and believe the Bible act that way? I think

it's because they don't understand how putting the Word in their heart

can affect their physical bodies. They don't see how something spiritual

can change something natural. If you will take time to read the Bible,

however, you will see that spiritual power has been affecting this physical

world ever since time began. In fact, it was spiritual power released in the

form of God's Word that brought this natural world into existence in the

first place. When you realize that God's Word is the force that originally

brought into being everything, you can see and touch, including your

physical body it's easy to believe that, the Word is still capable of

changing your body today. It makes perfect sense!

Faith in Two Places

"I would have no problem at all believing God's Word would heal me if

He'd speak to me out loud like He did in Genesis," you might say, "but He

hasn't!" No, and He probably won't either. God no longer has to thunder

His Word down at us from heaven. These days He lives in the hearts of

believers, so He speaks to us from the inside instead of the outside.

What's more, when it comes to covenant issues like healing, we don't even

have to wait on Him to speak.

He has already spoken!

He has already said, "He personally bore our sins in His [own] body on

the tree [as on an altar and offered Himself on it], that we might die (cease

to exist) to sin and live to righteousness. By His wounds you have been

healed." (I Peter 2:24). He has already said, "If you will diligently hearken

to the voice of the Lord your God and will do what is right in His sight,

and will listen to and obey His commandments and keep all His statutes,

I will put none of the diseases upon you which I brought upon the

Egyptians, for I am the Lord Who heals you." (Exodus 15:26). He has

already said, " And the prayer [that is] of faith will save him who is sick,

and the Lord will restore him; and if he has committed sins, he will be

forgiven. (James 5:15). God has already done His part. So we must do

ours. We must take the Word He has spoken, put it inside us and let it

change us from the inside out. You see, everything including healing

starts inside you. Your future is literally stored up in your heart.

9

disease, devils. You can tell the devil to go, if the person wants it back

they can. Like it was the case when an unclean spirit was cast out of a

man, whereby seven other spirits more wicked than himself came back to

enter “their house”, and the last state of that man was worse than the

first (Luke 11:24-26).

This story proofs that a devil was cast out of somebody that didn‟t want to

follow God, but wanted the devil back. “Are you really doing them a

service if they are going to get it back again?” You don‟t know what they

are going to do until you get them healed. A lot of people may be in some

really deep sin and you get them healed and they will walk out of it. You

say, “Well maybe we shouldn‟t do anything unless we know they are going

to.” You never know what they are going to do.

Jesus said, “Preach the Gospel.” Salvation has to do with a choice.

Salvation requires a change of ownership. Jesus said, “Heal the sick.” It

doesn‟t say, pray for the sick or talk to the sick about getting healed, but

it means you have the right to set them free. It has nothing to do with

their choice. If their will needs to be involved (or need to have faith) then

don‟t ever waste your time praying for a dead person or a person in coma

or people with mental handicap; they can never be healed. Why? Because

they don‟t have the mental capacity to have faith or to give permission to

accept the provision of Jesus. Again, you have authority over all sickness,

disease, devils, but not over the person. You do not need to ask

permission in order to set captives (prisoners) free. It is our duty, our

calling, our mandate, our responsibility and our job to set people free.

Jesus gave you permission, but not only did He give you permission He

commanded you to change the world and set captives free.

9.30 Does John 9 reveal that God causes sickness so He can heal

and be glorified?

In other words, does the story of the man born blind reveal that sickness

can be for a greater good? As he went along, he saw a man blind from

birth. His disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this manor his

parents, that he was born blind?” “Neither this man nor his parents

sinned,” said Jesus, “but this happened so that the works of God might

be displayed in him (John 9: 1-3, NIV). The disciples asked whether it was

the man‟s sin or his parents‟ sin that caused his blindness. How do we

call this today? Generational curse. Jesus said, “Neither.” This is Jesus‟

answer for generational curse. This is the only time Jesus came near to

talking about generational curses and His answer was, “Neither.” “Who

sinned, this man or his parents?” Jesus said it was neither and healed

66

9.27 Why are some people healed quickly, while others take a long

time to completely recover?

Only God, who makes every fingerprint unique, can fully answer this

question. People are individuals. But God is working out His best will for

every one of us as we submit to Him. We can trust in His perfect love.

Our part is simply to believe His Word and be grateful for what God has

given us, not to complain about what someone else got. Instead of

expressing doubt or unbelief if healing does not happen quickly, we

should respond by saying “Thank You Lord that Your healing power is

working in my body now!”

9.28 Am I implying that people who are sick deserve to be sick?

NO! Some sickness may be a result of unhealthy lifestyle choices we have

made, but certainly not always. Many people are victims of accidents and

the bad choices of others. No one deserves to be sick.

Their bad choices may have made an opening for sickness to attack them.

But Jesus died for all our sins. God forgives, so we should also forgive

ourselves as well as others. We all need God‟s mercy.

9.29 Do you need permission from the sick person or family member

to heal or deliver people?

No. For example, the lame man at the Gate Beautiful didn‟t ask for

healing, didn‟t want healing, but was healed nonetheless. The lame man

at the pool of Bethesda responded to the question, “do you want to be

healed?” not with “yes,” but with complaining. With a complaining

attitude and without giving permission and without faith on the man‟s

part, Jesus healed him. Rule of thumb: for it to be right for anybody it

has to be right for everybody. If it is true that you need to have

permission to heal the sick then that means nobody can get healed any

other way. For it to be right for one it has to be right all the time, it would

be a spiritual law. And if you don‟t have to do it every time then you don‟t

have to do it any time!

You are not overriding the persons will, but the devils will. You don‟t

know what that person‟s will is. If they say “no”, how do you know it‟s the

person or a lying spirit? Jesus didn‟t say; heal the sick IF you have

permission. Don‟t put qualifications where Jesus didn‟t! You don‟t have

authority over the person, you do have authority over all sickness,

65

As Jesus said, The good man from his inner good treasure flings forth

good things, and the evil man out of his inner evil storehouse flings forth

evil things (Matthew 12:35).

That means if you want external conditions to be better tomorrow, you'd

better start changing your internal condition today. You'd better start

taking the Word of God and depositing it in your heart just like you

deposit money in the bank. Then you can make withdrawals on it

whenever you need it. When sickness attacks your body, you can tap into

the healing Word you've put inside you and run that sickness off!

Exactly how do you do that?

You open your mouth and speak--not words of sickness and disease,

discouragement and despair, but words of healing and life, faith and

hope. You follow the last step of God's divine prescription and Put away

from you false and dishonest speech and willful and contrary talk put far

from you. In short, you speak the Words of God and call yourself healed

in Jesus' Name. Initially, that may not be easy for you to do. But you

must do it anyway because for the faith to work it must be in two places--

in your heart and in your mouth. "For with the heart man believeth unto

righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation"

(Romans 10:10).

Some people say faith will move mountains. But, the scriptural truth is,

faith won't even move a molehill for you unless you release it with the

words of your mouth. The Lord Jesus said, "Truly I tell you, whoever says

to this mountain, Be lifted up and thrown into the sea and does not

doubt at all in his heart but believes that what he says will take place, it

will be done for him." (Mark 11:23). Notice the word say appears three

times in that verse while the word believe appears only once. Obviously,

Jesus wanted us to know that our words are crucial.

It's also important to note that He did not instruct us to talk about the

mountain, He instructed us to talk to it! If we're going to obey Him, we

must talk to the mountain of sickness and cast it out of our lives.

The Lord has told us in His word that we can have what we say, but most

of the people are saying what they have! Instead of saying, "I'm healed,"

most Christians say, "I'm sick," and reinforce (strengthen) the sickness or

disease.

"But, Bob, it bothers me to say I'm healed when my body still feels sick!"

It shouldn't. It didn't bother Abraham. He went around calling himself the

10

Father of Nations for years even though he was as childless as could be.

Why did he do it? Because "he believed the God, who quickened the dead,

and calleth those things which be not as though they were" (Romans

4:17). He was "fully persuaded that, what [God] had promised, he was

able also to perform" (verse 21).

You see, Abraham wasn't "trying" to believe God. He wasn't just mentally

assenting (agreeing) to it. He had immersed himself in God's Word until

that Word was more real to him than the things he could see.

It didn't matter to him that he was 100 years old. It didn't matter to him

that Sarah was far past the age of childbearing and that she had been

barren all her life. All that mattered to him was what God said, because

he knew His Word was true. If you don't have that kind of faith for

healing right now, then stay in the Word until you get it! After all, “faith

comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God" (Romans 10:17).

Read, study, meditate, and listen to faith-filled teaching until God's Word

about healing is more real to you than the symptoms in your body. Keep

on keeping on until, like Abraham, you stagger not at the promise of God

through unbelief, but grow strong in faith as you give praise and glory to

God (Romans 4:20, The Amplified Bible).

He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their

destructions (Psalm 107:20, NKJV).

The word of God will accomplish what God has sent it to do: being to heal

and bring divine health. It works as a seed to bring a harvest of blessing

in your life, if you keep it in your heart.

Now the meaning of the parable is this: the seed is the word of God (Luke

8:11, AMPC).

The word of God is alive. Like a seed the words of God from the Bible are

filled with supernatural life which cannot be seen with physical (natural)

eyes.

It is the Spirit that makes alive, the flesh profits nothing. The words that I

speak to you are spirit and are life (John 6:63, MKJV).

For the Word of God is living and powerful and sharper than any twoedged

sword, piercing even to the dividing apart of soul and spirit, and of

the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of

the heart (Hebrews 4:12, MKJV).

11

is healed by the stripes of Jesus, read a few scriptures to encourage him

to continue in faith believing and confessing he is fully healed in Jesus

Name. I concluded by making a simple prayer of agreement in line with

the word, declaring that he is healed and thanking God for his healing.

Then I left the place and went back to my home. Eventually when I went

for the third visit I was told that a man was fully healed, and had gone to

town with driving his car to run some family errands. Then I said glory be

God who has sent His word and healed him.

9.25 Why do some people receive healing, and then get sick again?

We live in a fallen world, and sickness is a fact we have to deal with.

Scripture reveals that sickness is an attack from our enemy. So we must

learn to resist sickness. And we should not be surprised to experience

more than one attack. Instead of waiting until sickness has a firm hold in

our life, at the first symptom of any sickness we should command it to

leave us, and stand our ground in faith on God‟s Word.

Jesus resisted satan‟s attacks by speaking the written Word of God. We

must do the same. Jesus loves us just as much regardless of how we

respond, but it gives Him no pleasure to see us suffer needlessly.

We need to choose to actively resist all that is from the devil, and actively

receive all that is from God. Jesus does not force any blessing on us. We

must submit to God and resist the devil, which means resisting all his

works including sickness.

9.26 What do you mean by saying sickness is an attack from our

enemy?

I certainly do not mean the devil is personally present, or directly causing

every sickness. But Scripture reveals that sickness originated as a result

of Adam listening to satan and rebelling against God. So the devil is

ultimately behind all sickness, which is death in its beginning stages.

ROMANS 5:12 NLT When Adam sinned, sin entered the world. Adam‟s sin

brought death, so death spread to everyone, for everyone sinned.

Verses such as Acts 10:38 and Luke 13:16 show that Jesus and His

disciples blamed sickness on the devil. Jesus, our example (John 14:12),

spoke directly to sickness in the same way He spoke to demons (Mark

9:25, Luke 4:35, 39).

64

body is naturally getting better by itself, but the process is speeded up

through laying hands and the prayer of faith.

In this way, the process of healing can be shortened and instead of weeks

or months healing should take place, usually, within hours or days. And

there should be some progress immediately. And the prayer of faith will

save (heal) the sick, and the Lord will raise him up (James 5:15). It does

not say the sick will always be raised up instantly. Its just that they will

be raised. “They will recover.” All healing is a process that happens

through time as you continually improve in health. With God, healing can

sometimes be so speeded up that to us it seems almost instant! Many

people who have not understood that healing is a process involving time

have given up on getting healed, or to minister healing when they did not

have an instant miracle recovery. Don‟t let the devil steal from you

through this wrong thinking; healing is yours, because Jesus paid for it

(1 Peter 2:24).

But the Bible never says we will all receive healing instantly. Sometimes it

can be instant, and we know it is a miracle. Other times it can take a

while, but no matter how long it takes, we have the promise of God that

healing is ours, giving us divine assurance that we will be healthy and

whole! So never accept that healing is not God‟s will just because it does

not happen instantaneously. Let me give a true story of a man who was

sick that I prayed for to show that healing sometimes happens in stages.

One Sunday after church I went to a home of one of church members

after I was told that he was sick. After arriving at his home I told him that

healing belongs to him, because God already made a provision for his

healing through the stripes of Jesus Christ according to 1 Peter 2:24 and

Isaiah 53:4-5.

God quickened his understanding to know that healing is already

available in heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so he just had to reach out

in faith for it to be manifested in his body. The man was bedfast, could

not walk by himself but used a walking cane with four legs to support

him and could not even stretch his hands before I ministered healing to

him in Jesus Name. After ministering healing I asked him to walk around

his bedroom and stretch his hands, so he leaped and stretched his hands

to the glory of God our healer. Even though the man walked he was not

yet stable, so I asked him to keep meditating and confessing that he is

healed by the stripes. After that I left the home and told the family that I

will come back to visit them another day.

I returned to the family next Sunday and was told that the man could

now walk inside the house and was recovering well. So I told him that he

63

The written word of God has supernatural power which brings life to us.

Due to not feeling the healing power from the word of God this can hinder

the working of the power of God, because we can get sick while healing is

available. Words of God written in the Bible can seem like they are dead,

like the seed in the soil. But once that seed dies it geminates and

produces a crop that has life, similarly the word of God that is meditated

and confessed continually is able to bring healing and divine health to

our bodies.

Then Jesus said to the Jews who believed on Him, if you continue in My

Word, you are my disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and

the truth shall make you free (John 8:31-32, MKJV).

You have a written promise of Jesus; His word will bring deliverance in

every area of our lives including deliverance from diseases. But you are

supposed to continue (persevere) in His word. You are supposed to eat

the word of God until you know in your spirit that you know the truth.

Then you will do (practice) that truth and it will deliver you. Taking the

word of God as medicine includes hearing and believing what God has

spoken. We are supposed to exalt what God have said above what people

are saying. There is no person in the whole world that can surpass God in

power and knowledge. Therefore we can trust what God speaks above any

person‟s word.

Every time we begin to think about symptoms of diseases that are

afflicting us and bad report this is called "to worry", this means we have

stopped taking the word of God as medicine according to the directions

given in the Bible. To worry is not the right thing; it is to think something

which is not good for your life. The word of God in 1Peter 5:7 instructs us

to cast all our anxiety (worries) upon the Lord for He cares for us. So you

are not supposed to carry all the worries in your life by yourself according

to the word of God, you should lay them on the feet of Jesus Christ. You

ought to meditate the word of God which includes thinking deeply about

the word of God in your mind. Furthermore meditation of the word

includes filling your mind with the word of God constantly, muttering the

word of God silently on your inside and confessing it with your mouth

outside.

How do you see yourself? Do you see yourself getting healed? Or do you

see yourself getting worse? If you are meditating on the word of God

constantly you will see yourself getting better. You will think, confess and

practice what is in line with healing. Words are the way we express our

decisions and our faith: to us, to God, to satan and to other people. When

12

we make a decision to believe the word of God that, "healing belongs to

us" we will start confessing according to what we believe. The Bible tells

us to hold fast (firmly) to speak in agreement with the word of God

(Hebrews 4:14, 10:23) because there is always a spiritual struggle trying

to get us to quit. Therefore "hold confidently." Continue believing and

confessing your faith. Fight a good fight of faith! You will have to refuse to

accept the temptation of doubt.

Regardless of persistent signs of diseases or emotions, healing belongs to

you therefore don‟t allow the devil to steal your possession, as a result of

not believing the word of God. We are supposed to choose to look beyond

temporary symptoms in our bodies, look at the everlasting word of God

who is almighty and cannot lie (See Numbers 23:19). It is a big mistake to

establish our beliefs only on something that is unreliable as our physical

senses. But we can base our faith on the word of God which does not

change and is trustworthy (Joshua 21:45). Remember that the word of

God works as medicine in your body, to bring divine health and healing, if

you fix your mind on the word of God by keeping it in your heart, in your

mind and in your mouth.

The word of God will certainly heal. It is full of God‟s power and carries

the authority of God who spoke it. We just have to “hang on” to God‟s

Word and let it do its work. Whatever sickness or disease you suffer from,

God‟s Word will cure it. All we see was created by God speaking words.

Because God used His Words to create, His Words can also bring healing

to what He created.

For they bring life to those who find them, and healing to their whole

body (Proverbs 4:22, NLT).

If you faithfully take God‟s Word, you‟ll find it‟s the best medicine. Make

sure you take it diligently until you see yourself as God‟s Word says you

are. Even if satisfactory results are not obtained immediately just persevere

because you can‟t overdose on God‟s medicine. In fact, the more of

God‟s medicine you take, the better off you will be! God‟s Word is the

perfect medicine. There are no bad side effects, it works on every illness,

and everyone can afford it.

Many people when they are sick think that it is the will of God, but when

we read the word of God we find that it is not so. Apostle James in his

Epistle chapter 1 verse 17 he says: Every good gift and every perfect gift is

from above and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom is no

variableness nor shadow of turning.

13

9.24 Why do we not always see instant healing, while Jesus seems

to heal the sick instantly?

You are assuming Jesus always healed the sick instantly. He didn‟t. To

some people‟s surprise, not all the healings that Jesus performed were

instantaneous, but a process. Mark 8:22-25 is an account of Jesus

ministering to a blind man. After Jesus laid hands on the blind man he

could “see men like trees, walking.” In other words, he could see, but not

very well. Only when Jesus laid hands on him again did his sight become

clear. Although a long period of time was not involved, it does show a

healing that was a process not instantaneous.

John 9:6-7 tells of another healing that didn‟t take place instantly. Jesus

ministered healing to a man born blind. The man only receives sight after

He left Jesus to wash himself in the pool of Siloam. Verse 7 says, “So he

went and washed, and came back seeing.” In another instance Jesus told

a certain nobleman, whose son was sick to the point of death, to go home

because his son would live (John 4:46-54). “So he (the father) asked them

the hour when he began to get better, and they said to him, „Yesterday at

the seventh hour the fever left him‟” (ESV). “When he began to get better,”

indicates a process of recovery and not an instant healing. In all these

instances the sick got progressively well.

Many people picture healing as a miracle. A miracle is a supernatural

intervention of God's power over natural law. Healings, however, occur

within the boundaries of natural law while miracles are not limited to

natural law. A person with a high fever who receives prayer and then

begins to recover is experiencing a healing. The Lord intervened but in

natural ways. The virus, infection, or whatever was rebuked left the body

(Luke 4:39) and then the natural healing process that the Lord built into

all of us took over. Feeding the five thousand (Matthew. 14:19-20),

walking on the water (Mt. 14:25), translating a ship and all aboard to the

other side of the sea (John 6:21), all these are miracles. Miracles are

usually instantaneous whereas healings are gradual. Healing is a

process.

Mark 16:15 says that believers will lay hands on the sick and they will

recover. Recovery is a process. Clearly, it does not promise miracles

(instantaneous), but healing. Just like “running” means a process of

getting from A to B, so “healing” means a process of getting well and

healthy. You are promised the process that once you lay hands on a

person they will begin to get better and continue to get better until they

are well. God made the human body to always heal itself. To minister

healing to somebody is restoring a body naturally, but faster. So, the

62

sick.” That‟s a lie. Healing is letting the Spirit-life flow through you to

cure the sick person. In the process of letting the Spirit-life flowing

through you, whatever is wrong in your body, it will start to recover as

well. So despite if you have a cold, you are sneezing, coughing, puking or

aching somewhere, pray for one another so you may get healed as well.

9.23 Doesn’t James limit praying for healing only to elders and not

all Christians?

The statement that James used "should", “limited” the application of

divine healing only to the “elders” is not only false, but also an overlook of

many clear teachings of Christ (Matt. 28:18-20, Mark 16:18, John 12:12-

14). Jesus commanded all of His disciples in the following generations to

do exactly what He did, which included divine healing. And if every

believer is instructed to do what Christ had done (which included divine

healing), then the statement that divine healing is only “limited to the

elders” would be grievously false (John 14:12-14).

We must be very careful not to create a sense of a “church ladder” for

people to climb in order for them to “earn a title” to do the works of

Christ. Let us not forget that it was the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who

commanded each believer to do the works that He did with His given

authority and power (John 14:12-14, Matt. 28:18-20, Mark 16:18-20).

We should also not misunderstand and think that we are relieved of our

responsibility to heal the sick simply because we are not “elders” or we

don‟t have a certain role in church. Healing the sick is a clear

commandment for every believer, not a suggestion (Matthew 10:8,

Matthew 28:18-20, Mark 16:18). Similarly, it is a clear commandment for

every believer to preach the gospel with signs following, also not a

suggestion (Matthew 28:18-20, Mark 16:18-20). This also means that it is

not a matter of how “spiritual” we are that qualifies us to heal the sick.

Rather, it is by faith and by Jesus‟ Name that give us the ability to fulfill

that commandment (Acts 3:12, 16). Our ability to heal comes only from

the atonement of Christ, His authority, and His power given to us as

believers (Matthew 10:7-8, Matthew 28:18-20, Luke 9:1-6, Mark 16:14-

20). This means that no one is exempt from healing the sick for reasons

such as “I'm not spiritual enough,” or “I don't know much about divine

healing.” What counts is the atonement of Christ and His Name. It is not

about how spiritual we are, or how much we measure up.

Beloved, in regard to all things I pray that you prosper and be in health,

even as your soul prospers (3 John 1:2, NKJV).

I'll restore your health and heal your wounds," declares the LORD.

"People call you an outcast: Zion, no one cares for you (Jeremiah 30:17

GW).

The LORD will keep you from having any kind of illness. He will not strike

you with any of the terrible diseases you experienced in Egypt. Instead,

he will strike all those who hate you (Deuteronomy 7:15, GW).

Who forgives [every one of] all your iniquities, Who heals [each one of] all

your diseases, Who redeems your life from the pit and corruption, Who

beautifies, dignifies, and crowns you with loving-kindness and tender

mercy; (Psalm 103:3-4, AMP).

All these verses show that Jehovah is the God who heals, it is His will

that we should live well in our bodies and prosper. It is not the will of

God for His children to be sick. Our earthly parents want us to prosper

and be blessed, so God as our heavenly Father surpasses our parents, He

loves us unconditionally therefore, cannot bring diseases to our bodies.

The apostle James one of Christ‟s disciples wrote the following words with

the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, every good gift and every perfect (free,

large, full) gift is from above; it comes down from the Father of all (that

gives) light, in (the shining of) Whom there can be no variation (rising or

setting) or shadow cast by His turning (as in an eclipse). (James 1:17)

God is the good God, so everything that comes from Him is good and

perfect; therefore diseases and infirmities do not come from God but from

the devil. That is the reason that we are supposed to resist sicknesses

from entering our bodies by meditating healing scriptures and confessing

them with our mouths. We are supposed to do this with perfect

knowledge that, Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they

who indulge in it shall eat the fruit of it (for death or life) (Proverbs 18:21).

Satan is bad (evil, wicked), everything that come from him is bad, that is

the reason we should stand against (reject) things from him, and not

receive them but, be subject to God. Resist the devil [stand firm against

him], and he will flee from you (James 4:7).

61

14

There failed no part of any good thing which the Lord had promised to the

house of Israel; all came to pass (Joshua 21:45, AMP).

This verse is important to us children of God, especially to a person who

is severely ill and needing the healing of God in their body urgently. The

knowledge that the promises of God of healing and divine health will

come to pass, in your life will make you to come to the word of God with

firm expectant hope, knowing that eventually(at the end) healing will be

manifested in your body. Both your words (positive confessions) and of

other people are very important in your life because what you hear,

believe and confess with your mouth will come to pass in your life.

You shall also decide and decree a thing, and it shall be established for

you; and the light (of God‟s favour) shall shine upon your ways (Job

22:28, AMP).

What we think (ponder, meditate) on in our hearts most of the time is

important, because it‟s what we will speak and what we confess is what

will manifest in our lives. Thoughts that we think on, and the words that

we speak with our mouths is very important, because our confessions

rules (controls, dominates, governs) our lives. King Solomon in Proverbs

4:23 says, "Keep and guard your heart with all vigilance and above all

that you guard, for out of it flow the springs of life."

It is not every thought that comes to our minds that we should allow to

penetrate but we should only permit thoughts that agree with the word of

God. Apostle Paul in his Epistle to the Philippians 4:8 says, "For the rest,

brethren, whatever is true, whatever is worthy of reverence and is

honourable and seemly, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is

lovely and lovable, whatever is kind and winsome and gracious, if there is

any virtue and excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think

on and weigh and take account of these things (fix your minds on them)."

Our minds and hearts are supposed to be constantly saturated, with

thoughts of truth, lovely thoughts, pure thoughts, just thoughts and

honorable thoughts only. Diseases and infirmities are bad therefore we

are not supposed to dwell our minds on them, because they come from

our adversary the devil. satan (adversary, thief, murder, liar, accuser of

the brethren, deceiver, god of this world, prince of the power of the air,

prince of the world) (names revealing his nature and character) has come

to steal, kill and destroy but, Christ the good shepherd of the sheep, came

so that we can have life and have it abundantly (till it overflows) (John

10:10)

15

they had sodas back then, he could have said, “Stop drinking the water

and have soda instead,” but they didn‟t have sodas back then, just wine.

Paul was not telling Timothy to take medicine or not believe for divine

healing, he was merely saying prevention is better than cure. “Timothy,

every time you go on a mission‟s trip you drink the water and your

stomach gets upset. Just stop drinking only the water, and have some

wine. Then you won‟t be sick so often.” That‟s all he is saying.

9.20 Should we just walk up to people and heal them since Jesus

only healed those who came to Him and asked Him for help?

Jesus didn‟t only heal those who came to Him or asked Him for help. He

also healed people by taking initiative and reaching out to them. In John

5 He went to the pool of Bethesda and “when He found out that that man

had been there a long time, He went to him and said “do you want to be

healed?” The man immediately started complaining. “I don‟t have anybody

to help me.” This man had no faith. But what did Jesus do? He healed

the man (so much for the sick person needing to have faith and first

needing to have permission before healing the sick). When Jesus was in

the synagogue a woman who had spirit of infirmity for 18 years (Luke

13:10-17) When He saw her, He called her to Him. She didn‟t come to

Him. He called her to Himself. And when she got to Him, He said,

“Woman, you are loosed from your infirmity.” Notice, He didn‟t say,

woman how much faith do you have? If you have enough, today is your

lucky day. He didn‟t say, have you had enough quiet time, prayed

enough, given tithes?

9.21 Is it legitimate to believe on the basis of signs or miracles?

Yes. Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me, or else

believe Me for the sake of the works themselves (John 14:11). But if I do,

though you do not believe Me, believe the works, that you may know and

believe that the Father is in Me, and I in Him” (John 10:38). Jesus

answered them, “I told you, and you do not believe. The works that I do in

My Father‟s name, they bear witness of Me (John 10:25).

9.22 Can I pray for the sick when I am sick myself?

Yes. In fact, one of the quickest ways to get healed yourself is by

ministering healing to others. Galatians 6:7 says, “Whatever a man sows

he will also reap.” If you‟re sowing healing what will you be reaping?

Healing. Right. So, when you are sick that is when you need to be

ministering healing! To be healed yourself, go heal others. The devil will

tell you “Until you walk in fullness of health you can't be healing the

60

9.18 Paul the great apostle left Trophimus sick in Miletus. Does

Trophimus’s illness prove God doesn’t heal sometimes?

2 Timothy 4:20, “Erastus stayed in Corinth, but Trophimus I have left in

Miletus sick.” Paul left somebody sick. Many people believe because of

this that he couldn‟t get all healed so therefore we can‟t expect to get all

healed. Or they say, it must not be God‟s will to heal everybody. Jesus is

our ultimate example. He healed them all and said we are to do the same

and greater. Did Jesus ever leave anybody sick? Yes, actually He did, a

few times. Ten men who had leprosy asked Jesus to have mercy on them.

He tells them to show themselves to the priests and as they went, they

were cleansed (Luke 17:12-19). The ten lepers were healed “as they went.”

That means the healing didn‟t manifest instantaneously, but only after

they left Jesus. So Jesus left them sick. As they went, they got healed.

Only one came back.

This pattern still repeats itself today. You pray for a sick person don‟t see

an instant or quick recovery, but after some time (weeks, months or

years) you hear their story about how they woke up the next morning

without any pain, not having any symptoms since then. Anyway,

Trophimus accompanied Paul on his third missionary journey and Paul

let him at the seaport of Miletus, sick. However, Trophimus must not

have remained sick very long since he was in Jerusalem at the same time

Paul was there, when Paul was falsely accused of having brought

Trophimus into the temple (Acts 21:29). Therefore, we can conclude that

even though he was left sick, he did recover soon after Paul left him and

got back to business, healthy.

9.19 Paul told his successor Timothy to drink wine for frequent

stomach problems. Does Timothy’s illness prove God doesn’t heal

everyone every time?

Paul said to Timothy, “no longer drink only water, but use a little wine for

your stomach‟s sake and your frequent infirmities” (1 Timothy 5:23).

Whatever sickness Timothy had was a stomach problem, and it was

related to the water. What happens when you travel to some third-world

country and drink the water? That‟s right, stomach trouble. When the

water somewhere isn‟t clean and save to drink, there are times when it‟s

better to drink something besides water. That‟s painfully obvious.

Any doctor will tell you “Prevention is better than cure.” Timothy didn‟t

have some chronic problem from which he never received healing. Paul

was counselling Timothy to quit drinking the water because that is what

was causing his stomach problems, and instead to drink a little wine. If

CHAPTER 3

HEALING AND FAITH SCRIPTURES

This chapter contains healing and faith verses for your meditation. You

are to think and remember them day and night so that you can receive

healing from God. Literally you should feast on them long enough and

often because they are truly full of life. Take your time meditating

(ponder) on each verse until they move from your mind into your spirit

where they will bring transformation to your life.

These words are filled with supernatural (divine, healing, saving) power

and life of God (Zoe), hence Christ said It is the Spirit Who gives life (He is

the Life-giver); the flesh conveys no benefit whatever (there is no profit in

it). The words (truths) that I have been speaking to you are spirit and life

(John 6:63 AMP). The power of God resides in His word; all things that

exist were created by the word of God, in that things which are visible

were made by things that did not appear (Hebrews 11:3)

“I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for

I am the LORD who heals you” (Exodus 15:26b NIV)

The Lord is our healer, He heals us by His word (medicine) when we

believe it in our hearts, meditate on the word of God and confessing

(decreeing) it by faith.

Worship the Lord your God and his blessing will be on your food and

water. I will take away sickness from among you (Exodus 23:25 NIV).

“No one shall suffer miscarriage or be barren in your land; I will fulfil the

number of your days. (Exodus 23:26)

Call on me in prayer and I will answer you. I will show you great and

mysterious things which you still do not know about. (Jeremiah 33:3)

You are supposed to offer your body (temple of the Holy Spirit) as a living

sacrifice on a daily basis (Romans 12:1), glorify Him in your body and

spirit, knowing that all things belongs to us, we belong to Christ and

Christ is of God (1Corinthians 3:21-23).

16

In the gospel of Matthew 6:33 we are commanded to seek first the

kingdom of God and His righteousness, with a promise that all other

things shall be added unto us. When we put God and His word first in

everything He will bless us, satisfy all our needs for the present life

including prosperous life in our bodies.

And none will miscarry or be barren in your land. I will give you a full life

span (Exodus 23:26 NIV).

"God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should

change His mind. Does He speak and then not act? Does He promise and

not fulfill?" (Numbers 23:19 NIV).

"The Lord will keep you free from every disease," (Deuteronomy 7:15a).

I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore

choose life, that both you and your descendants may live; (Deuteronomy

30:19b NKJV).

God has given us the right to choose life and death, blessing and curse.

God do this because of His unconditional Love, due to His nature He

cannot force a person to choose life in violation of his will, that is the

reason He tells man to choose life, but gives him freewill to choose either

life or death. When a person chooses death, it is not the fault of God but

man‟s. For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He

[even] gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in

(trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction,

be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life (John 3:16 AMP). God has

already fulfilled His part in the covenant by giving His Son Jesus Christ,

now every person as an individual has to receive Christ to acknowledge

the Love that God has expressed.

Important Message: If you have not yet received Jesus as

your personal Lord and Saviour (being born again) I plead

with you to make a sinner’s prayer of surrender in the last

page of this book. As you do so, God will write your name in

His book of life. God bless you.

„With long life will I satisfy him, and show him my salvation (Psalm 91:16

NIV).

9.17 How come some godly, believing saints still died prematurely

of sickness?

Why are there so many believers not healed, or died, while they had faith

to be healed (and the person who prayed also had faith)? You are

assuming they were believing, or using their God-given faith. They were

not. God says, the just shall live (be healthy), by faith. If you operate in

faith, you will live. Basically God says, if you use your God-given faith,

you will recover. There has not been one Christian who died prematurely

of sickness believing. If you believe, you are well. They may have been

godly people, even confessing their faith; but just talking faith, is not

believing. Don‟t talk about a good, saintly person that died believing,

since Scripture says, the righteous shall live by their faith. Either we call

God a liar or we must change our mind. “I would rather die believing Him,

than live doubting Him”- Smith Wigglesworth.

God also says, to be carnally minded is death, but spirit minded is life

and peace (Romans 8:6). The carnal minded walks by sight. The spirit

minded walks by faith. No spiritual minded person has ever died prematurely

or of sickness or disease. Any person that dies that way is a

carnally minded believer. Carnal or spirit mindedness has nothing to do

with age, position or how long you know the Lord, but with having your

mind renewed to the Word of God or not. God also says, the prayer of

faith shall heal the sick. The person didn‟t get healed or even died even

though others prayed for healing? Based on God‟s Word, they lacked

appropriating the healing through faith, otherwise the person would be

made well! If the person isn‟t healed then the answer is, none of them

sufficiently manifested God‟s healing power through faith.

Also, faith is governed by laws. If we are ignorant of these laws, we won‟t

cooperate with God by faith and as a result don‟t walk in His healing

power. There are godly people who desired to be healed, earnestly prayed,

and died because they didn‟t cooperate with these spiritual laws. It‟s not

God who rejected them. If you violate those laws, they will kill you. So to

answer, “my experience show that even the most faithful Christians

sometimes won‟t get healed” we again bring up the general rule: Scripture

dictates our experience, not our experience dictating Scripture. Our

beliefs should always rest on the word of God and not on our personal

experiences or circumstances. No matter how much the world and people

may fail us; God will never fail us, nor leave or forsake us (Joshua 1:9,

Hebrews 13:5). We can trust Him.

Another day when I returned to the house I was told that, a few days after

the prayer the patient was discharged from hospital fully healed. I am

testifying that there is no distance in the spiritual realm because the Holy

Spirit is everywhere to accomplish the word of God spoken in faith.

9.16 Does a sick person have to have their own faith to be healed?

No. It is generally believed and taught that each person needing healing

must have their own faith for their own healing, but let‟s look at what the

Bible reveals. The Roman Centurion had faith for his servant; there is no

mention of the servant having any faith for healing. The woman of

Canaan had faith for her daughter‟s healing; there is no mention of the

daughter having faith for her deliverance (healing). With four men

carrying their paralytic friend on a stretcher to Jesus, Jesus saw “their”

faith. Scripture proves that the “their” was the four men; they had faith

for the paralytic. When Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead; whose faith

was it that did the raising? Who had faith for Lazarus? It wasn‟t Lazarus.

Jesus had faith for Lazarus. When Peter healed the lame man at the

Beautiful Gate there is no mention of the man having faith for healing.

Peter gave the key to healing when he said, “It was His Name, through

faith in His Name that made this man strong. Who had faith in that

Name? It was Peter. Peter had faith for the man‟s healing. In all healings

instances, both Jesus and the disciples all had faith [of their own for the

healing]. Only 3 times (for 4 people) was the faith of the

sick/diseased/lame person instrumental in their own healing. Only 4

times did a person came to Jesus asking him to heal someone they came

on behalf of. The faith of these 4 people was added to the faith of Jesus

and the disciples, and healing took place in the person they came on

behalf of.

Jesus commended two people for their “great faith.” The Roman

Centurion (Matthew 8:5-13) and the woman of Canaan (Matthew 15:21-

28). Why was their faith great? Because both of them didn‟t have a

covenant with God. They had no right to ask for healing, because it was

not promised to them, but to the Jews. You need great faith to ask for

something that is not promised to you. But you have a covenant with God

promising you many things. You don‟t need great faith to ask. You have

the measure of faith; it is the faith of Christ! The sick person does not

have their own faith to be healed, otherwise the majority of people in the

world (unbelievers) could not get healed by believers laying hands on

them. If a person has faith, wonderful. If a person doesn‟t, you have faith

for them.

Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: Who forgives

all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases, (Psalm 103:2-3).

He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their

destructions. (Psalm 107:20 NKJV).

I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD. (Psalm

118:17 NKJV).

My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. Do

not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart;

for they are life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh.

(Proverbs 4:20-22 NKJV).

Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will

strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous

right hand. (Isaiah 41:10 NKJV).

But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our

iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His

stripes we are healed. (Isaiah 53:5 NKJV).

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD,

thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

(Jeremiah 29:11 NKJV).

And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching

the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds

of disease among the people. (Matthew 4:23 NKJV).

Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

(Matthew 6:10 NKJV).

When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demonpossessed.

And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who

were sick, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the

prophet, saying: “He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses.

(”Matthew 8:16-17 NKJV).

“What do you mean, „If I can‟?” Jesus asked. “Anything is possible if a

person believes.” (Mark 9:23 NKJV).

57

18

“For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, „Be removed

and be cast into the sea,‟ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes

that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.

(Mark 11:23 NKJV).

“Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe

that you receive them, and you will have them. And whenever you stand

praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him that your

Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses. (Mark 11:24-25

NKJV).

But when Jesus heard it, He answered him, saying, “Do not be afraid;

only believe, and she will be made well.” (Luke 8:50 NKJV).

He sent them to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick. (Luke

9:2 NKJV)

“So ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan

has bound think of it for eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the

Sabbath?”(Luke 13:16 NKJV).

“If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. “And you shall

know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”(John 8:31b-32 NKJV)

Also a multitude gathered from the surrounding cities to Jerusalem,

bringing sick people and those who were tormented by unclean spirits,

and they were all healed. (Acts 5:16 NKJV)

But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He

who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies

through His Spirit who dwells in you. (Romans 8:11 NKJV)

And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, “I

believed and therefore I spoke,” we also believe and therefore speak, (2

Corinthians 4:13)

While we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things

which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the

things which are not seen are eternal. (2 Corinthians 4:18)

19

for improving people, but credit God. Sickness is one kind of suffering a

Christian should be freed from, because Jesus redeemed us from

sickness.

9.13 Do I need to ask God to heal me?

No. Never ask God to do something He has already done. Since healing

was provided by the stripes of Jesus and the works of the cross are

finished, God has already done everything He needed to do. If you ask

Him for something He has already provided, you are technically saying He

hasn‟t provided it yet meaning you are in doubt. Jesus taught us to speak

to the mountain and tell it what we want it to do. He didn‟t say talk to

God about it, He said talk to the mountain. “Cancer, GET OUT in Jesus

Name” is ministering in faith and authority. “God, please heal me of

cancer if it is Your will” is ministering out of doubt and not knowing the

will of God. There are no “ifs” in the prayer of faith.

9.14 How come some people that have a lot of physical problems

only get healed of one thing when they are prayed for?

That‟s what they believed for when they were prayed for or it is what the

person that prayed for them believed for. Many times people do not tell

the person praying all their problems, but only mention a thing or two.

Then they only get cured of one or two things. And some people believe

that small things are not serious enough to ask prayer for. “I can live with

it” they say. If God will heal the “serious”, He will also heal the minor

problems.

9.15 What about long distance prayer? Can a person be healed even

if they are not present?

Yes. There is not distance in the spirit. Jesus healed the Roman

Centurion's servant from a distance and He healed the Syrophonecian

woman‟s daughter from a distance. So yes, a person can be healed even if

they are not present. Sometimes it is actually easier to have faith for a

person that is not right in front of you. If they are in front of you, you may

find reasons that would make you think they should not be healed. Or

they may “talk you out of faith” through a theological discussion or by

sharing their medical history. One time I was visiting one house, then the

owner of that house told me of her relative who was sick in hospital at the

time of my visit. So I asked her to tell me his name and condition of

sickness, so she did. I prayed for the absent person commanding

sickness to die from its roots and to leave his body in Jesus Name and

declared that he is healed by the stripes of Jesus and left the house.

56

In the same way a child of God when praying is not supposed to say,

"heal me if it is your will." The word of God tells us in a clear way that

Jesus Christ has already paid for our healing. Matthew 8:17 says, "And

thus He fulfilled what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah, He Himself took

[in order to carry away] our weaknesses and infirmities and bore away

our diseases."

9.10 Does the fact that is not every person who is healed show that

healing is not the will of God for all people?

We cannot know the will of God by what people do. To know the will of

God we are supposed to look at what God said in His word. Because other

people in the past did not understand and receive what God gave, which

is divine healing, that is not the reason for you to suffer. Jesus loves you

and he wants you to receive all that He paid for you so that it will bring

joy and health to your life. You should not allow unbelief to steal what

rightfully belongs to you.

And He did not do many mighty works there because of their unbelief

(Matthew 13:58).

So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief (Hebrews 3:19).

In this verse we see that the children of Israel were not able to enter into

the rest of God, (Canaan) because of unbelief, in the same way many

people are not healed because of unbelief, even though the truth is that

healing is the will of God for all people.

9.11 Why doesn’t Jesus just force everyone to be healed?

He gave us the freedom to choose, to accept Him and His blessings or to

reject Him. Love does not force others. Love invites. The Bible shows us

that God loves us with a perfect love.

9.12 But isn’t suffering God’s way of perfecting us?

NO! Illness has never made anyone a better person. How a person

chooses to respond to suffering makes the difference. Some people

experience great suffering and become better people because they turn to

God in their suffering, and receive His grace to change. But many people

become worse because of suffering. So, we should never credit suffering

55

Casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against

the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the

obedience of Christ, (2 Corinthians 10:5 NKJV)

Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse

for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”), that

the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus,

that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. (Galatians

3:13, 14 NKJV)

Above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench

all the fiery darts of the wicked one. (Ephesians 6:16 NKJV)

For it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good

pleasure. (Philippians 2:13 NKJV)

Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your

whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our

Lord Jesus Christ.(1 Thessalonians 5:23 NKJV)

Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were

also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of

many witnesses.(1 Timothy 6:12 NKJV)

The good confession in the presence of many witnesses. (1 Timothy 6:12)

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a

sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7 NKJV)

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not

seen. (Hebrews 11:1 NKJV)

And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up.

And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. (James 5:15 NKJV)

who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having

died to sins, might live for righteousness — by whose stripes you were

healed. (1 Peter 2:24 NKJV)

Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just

as your soul prospers. (3 John 1:2 NKJV)

CHAPTER 4

SOZO SCRIPTURES

The New Testament was written in Greek, so all English versions are

translations. Some words have more than one meaning, so translators

have to choose which word they think is best. Obviously their beliefs

affect how they translate.

The New Testament Greek word “sozo” is usually translated “save” but its

meaning includes deliverance from all danger and suffering. It means to

make whole, safe, sound, and well; to heal and restore to health. Being

“saved” is not limited to being born again. It also includes healing. It

means total deliverance.

The following verses show how the translators realize that “sozo” could

also refer to physical healing. The bold words are the English translation

of the Greek word “sozo.”

And begged Him earnestly, saying, “My little daughter lies at the point of

death. Come and lay Your hands on her, that she may be healed and she

will live” (MARK 5:23 NKJV).

Then Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your faith has made you well.”

And immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus on the road.

(MARK 10:52 NKJV).

They also who had seen it told them by what means he who had been

demon-possessed was healed (LUKE 8:36 NKJV).

Then Jesus said to him, “Receive your sight; your faith has made you

well” (LUKE 18:42 NKJV).

This man heard Paul speaking. Paul, observing him intently and seeing

that he had faith to be healed, (ACTS 14:9 NKJV).

The following seventeen verses are from the New King James translation,

except for the words in bold, which have been changed to reflect what we

have discovered about the meaning of the word “sozo.”

Based on the meaning of the New Testament Greek word “sozo,” the

words “save” and “saved” have been changed in the following verses to

“heal” and “healed,” for you to meditate on.

21

what controls our lives. When we release our faith on what Christ has

accomplished, healing process begins to manifest. When we are rooted in

faith, continuing on feeding ourselves the word of God, our thoughts, our

words and our doing of the word will increase, allowing God to work in us

so that, we reap divine health. Divine healing is the perfect will of God for

all people, not just certain special people.

9.9 Why are some people not healed?

Why do some people not accept the salvation and forgiveness offered by

Jesus Christ? Jesus died for all. But not all believe, and actively accept

what Jesus did for them. The main reason people are not healed is simply

because they have never been told healing is available for them. Others

have not received healing because no one explained to them how to

receive in a way they could understand. So, through ignorance, the devil

robs them of what Jesus paid for them to enjoy.

Healing comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God (Romans

10:17). Faith does not come by sympathy. Faith comes when we hear the

word of truth (John 17:17). Jesus Christ said we will know the truth and

the truth shall set us free (John 8:32). The word of God is truth and when

we meditate on it repeatedly in our minds, the Holy Spirit transfers it to

our heart (spirit) where He (Holy Spirit) illuminate it, to give us revelation.

When we want to see people being set free from sicknesses and

infirmities, we are supposed to teach them about the gospel of healing.

The other reason that people are not healed is that when they pray for

healing they say "if it is your will." But this prayer is unnecessary

because, God has told us in His Word in a clear way that it is His will to

heal us. A sinner cannot pray by saying "God save me if it is your will."

This prayer is unnecessary because God in his word have said, "The Lord

does not delay and is not tardy or slow about what He promises,

according to some people‟s conception of slowness, but He is longsuffering

(extraordinarily patient) toward you, not desiring that any

should perish, but that all should turn to repentance" (2 Peter 3:9AMP).

Furthermore the word of God declares, And the Spirit and the bride say,

Come! And let the one hearing say, Come! And let the one who is thirsty

come. And he willing let him take of the Water of Life freely (Revelation

22:17 MKJV). Therefore a sinner when praying should not say "if it is

your will."

54

shall recover (Mark 16:15). Believers will do the works Jesus did, and

greater works he will do (John 14:12).

9.6 Do I need to tithe for God to be able to bless me?

No. You need to believe in Jesus and the free gift of His righteousness.

God blessed you based on that and that alone. If you are tithing in order

to receive a blessing, it is vain worship because you are trying to buy

God‟s blessings. See what Paul told Simon when he tried to buy the free

gift in Acts: 8:18-23. So next time you hear somebody „begging‟ you for

money from the pulpit and they say something along the lines of “If you

don‟t give, God can‟t help you. You have to plant the seed so God can

grow the miracle,” just remember that your miracle lies in Christ, and you

can‟t buy Him, you can only believe. I have nothing against giving and I

give myself, but I do not expect a blessing from God because of my giving

or any other actions because that is called self-righteousness and it falls

under the law covenant. I expect God‟s blessings because I am the

righteousness of God through the obedience of the one Man, Jesus Christ

(Romans 5:19). Because I am an heir of God and co-equal heir of Christ

by faith (Romans 8:17). The New Covenant is by grace through faith, not

by grace through tithing.

9.7 Can anyone minister healing or is it a gift?

According to Mark 16:15-18 both healing and deliverance are signs that

follow ANY believer. If you believe in Jesus, then you can lay hands on the

sick and they will recover. There is no mention of a healing anointing in

the Bible. The gifts of healings do exist and do have a function, but we

believe in the priesthood of all believers, saints who are equipped by the

five-fold ministry gifts to enable us to do the work of the ministry. You

have the Holy Spirit and He has all the gifts anyway! Gifting is not an

excuse. God can use any Christian to heal anybody, He can use any

willing vessel including baby Christians that just got born again. God

used me to heal the sick through me even before I was baptised by the

Holy Spirit. During that time I was still a lay Christian not part of five-fold

ministries, so I attest to the fact that God can use any available willing

and obedient Christian to minister healing.

9.8 Is healing the will of God for every person every time?

Yes. It is true. Even though it is the will God that everyone should come

to the true knowledge and believe in Jesus Christ, however, it is not

everyone that believes in Christ and everyday there are people who die

without Christ and go to hell against the will of God. What we believe is

53

Although the NKJ translators did not choose to use the words in bold,

they surely could have without distorting the meaning the original

hearers of Scripture understood. Because, as we have seen, the meaning

of “sozo” clearly includes deliverance from physical sickness. The true

meaning of these verses is not limited to physical healing, but certainly

includes physical healing. Faith works the same for receiving healing as it

does for receiving forgiveness of sins and the new birth.

“And if anyone hears My words and does not believe, I do not judge him;

for I did not come to judge the world but to heal the world (John 12:47

NKJV).

“Those by the wayside are the ones who hear; then the devil comes and

takes away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be

healed (Luke 8:12 NKJV).

“For the Son of Man did not come to destroy men‟s lives but to heal them”

(Luke 9:56a NKJV).

“For the Son of Man has come to seek and to heal that which was lost”

(Luke 19:10 NKJV).

„Who will tell you words by which you and all your household will be

healed‟ (Acts 11:14 NKJV).

“But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall

be healed in the same manner as they” (Acts 15:11 NKJV).

For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not know

God, it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to

heal those who believe (1 Corinthians 1:21 NKJV).

For “whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be healed” (Romans

10:13 NKJV).

This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus

came into the world to heal sinners, of whom I am chief (1 Timothy 1:15

NKJV).

22

That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your

heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be healed (Romans

10:9 NKJV)

Therefore He is also able to heal to the uttermost those who come to God

through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them

(Hebrews 7:25 NKJV).

And the prayer of faith will heal the sick, and the Lord will raise him up.

And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven (James 5:15NKJV).

“For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but

that the world through Him might be healed (John 3:17 NKJV).

So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be healed,

you and your household” (Acts 16:31 NKJV).

“Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under

heaven given among men by which we must be healed” (Acts 4:12 NKJV).

For by grace you have been healed through faith and that not of

yourselves; it is the gift of God, (Ephesians 2:8 NKJV).

For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savoir, who

desires all men to be healed and to come to the knowledge of the truth (1

Timothy 2:3-4 NKJV).

statement that God uses physical sickness and suffering to teach his

children is a clear violation of New Testament scripture (which is what

applies to us today because we are New Covenant believers). Some will

suggest that there are various scriptures in the Old Testament where God

literally said that He would inflict diseases and sicknesses upon His

people if they did not keep His precepts. So they conclude that God is still

doing this today to His children to inflict them with diseases in order to

“teach” them something.

Nevertheless, to make this conclusion would be a great error because we

are not Old Covenant believers, but rather, New Covenant believers in

Christ. Many things that happened in the Old Covenant between God and

man do not apply to us today because we are New Covenant believers.

While we should still read the Old Testament because it is still the word

of God, we must read the Old Testament through the lens of the New

Testament. As Paul tells us clearly in Hebrews. 8:13, the Old Covenant

has been made “obsolete and will soon disappear.”

9.3 Does taking medicine void my faith?

No. Medicine is not stronger than God‟s power. If you have faith, you will

be healed. If you then take medicine, your body will react differently to

the medication. When it does, go to your doctor to check the need to

continue taking the medicine. Don‟t break your glasses after somebody

prays for your eyes either. Put the glasses back on and check if you can

still see through them. Also never listen to anybody who tells you to take

or stop taking medicine unless they are a doctor. It is illegal to give advice

or instruction on the intake of medicine if you are not a doctor. Our job is

not to diagnose, or to fix blame, but rather to fix the problem. Jesus never

pointed out the sick person‟s problem. He simply set them free.

9.4 Does God have a set time for my healing?

Yes. His set time was at the cross. By the stripes of Jesus your WERE

healed (1 Pet 2:24). There is no future set time when God is going to do

something to cause your healing. He did everything already and he did

them perfectly. NOW is the day of salvation. (Salvation = soteria = healing,

deliverance, protection, salvation, to make whole).

9.5 Do you need to have a position or office to heal the sick?

Yes. The position and office of a believer. If you are a believer, you are a

commissioned healing agent. Believers lay hands on the sick and they

23

52

9.2 Does God allow or use sickness to teach (or sanctify, humble)

me?

Considering you think God gives sickness to teach a lesson, and you are

supposed to be “imitators of God” what should you be doing? According

to this logic, you'll be praying for your loved ones to catch a virus or get

hit by a car. Or why not go to the lab and have them inject cancer cells

into their body so that they can learn a lesson and experience some

growth in Christ? Of course, this is ultimate stupidity. Yet many

Christians entertain this flawed thinking, proven by certain things they

say, “God must have a purpose for this cancer. He works all things out

for the good for those who love Him. His ways are higher.” Or “This

sickness builds your character.” Do babies have the rational faculties to

understand what they are going through? Building their character

through hardships? They are still babies. Those who God delights in He

disciplines (Hebrews. 12).

Do you “discipline” your children with life-depleting illnesses? I'll be

calling child protection services on you if you do so. God disciplines

(trains) us through His Word (2 Tim. 3:16) and the Spirit, not through

sickness and disease. In John 14:26, Jesus said that when the Holy

Spirit comes He will “teach us all things.” If the Holy Spirit will teach us

all things, then everything that we know will be from the Holy Spirit.

Thus, to say that a physical sickness is to teach us something is to say

that the Holy Spirit is a physical sickness Himself which clearly cannot be

the case because God is an incorruptible God (Romans 1:23), and

physical sickness is corruptible.

God knows how to give good gifts. Something that steals health, kills

people and destroys families is not my idea of a good and perfect gift from

above. Also, if it were God‟s will for you to be sick, then you would be in

sin and rebellion going to the doctor to get better. Think about it, if you

believe God makes you sick, you should pray for the symptoms to become

worse so you can really learn your lesson. God doesn‟t allow or use

sickens to teach you or better you, because sickness is bringing death.

And death is His enemy. He is not using His enemy to somehow help you

become a better person. You can choose to use every opportunity to learn,

like having your fingers between a door. You can learn from it. But God

doesn‟t use your finger-between-the-door experience to tell you

something.

To endure suffering and persecution for the faith: yes. To endure physical

sickness for the faith: no and never; because this clearly violates

scripture (Psalm 103:2-3, Is. 53:4-5, James 5:13-16, 1 Peter 2:24).The

CHAPTER 5

SEE THAT DOCTOR JESUS HEALS

As you read the healing accounts on the following pages, never forget that

Jesus demonstrated God‟s will for us in all He did, and He is still the

same today (Hebrews 13:8).

Also after Jesus went to Heaven, He continued to do the same works of

healing through His disciples. In the present age of last days Jesus Christ

still heals through His church (MARK 16:18c).

“how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with

power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by

the devil, for God was with Him” (ACTS 10:38 NKJV).

Now Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues,

preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness

and all kinds of disease among the people. Then His fame went

throughout all Syria; and they brought to Him all sick people who were

afflicted with various diseases and torments, and those who were demonpossessed,

epileptics, and paralytics; and He healed them (MATTHEW

4:23-24 NKJV).

And Jesus said to him, “I will come and heal him.”8 The centurion

answered and said, “Lord, I am not worthy that You should come under

my roof. But only speak a word, and my servant will be healed.”13 Then

Jesus said to the centurion, “Go your way; and as you have believed, so

let it be done for you.” And his servant was healed that same hour

(MATTHEW 8:7-8, 13 NKJV).

And He touched her hand, and the fever left her. Then she arose and

served them. When evening had come, they brought to Him many who

were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and

healed all who were sick, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by

Isaiah the prophet, saying: “He Himself took our infirmities and bore our

sicknesses” (MATTHEW 8:15-17 NKJV).

And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their

synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every

sickness and every disease among the people (MATTHEW 9:35 NKJV).

And behold, there was a man who had a withered hand. And they asked

Him, saying, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?” that they might accuse

24

Him. Then He said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” And he stretched

it out, and it was restored as whole as the other (MATTHEW 12:10, 13

NKJV).

But when Jesus knew it, He withdrew from there; and great multitudes

followed Him, and He healed them all (MATTHEW 12:15 NKJV).

Then one was brought to Him who was demon-possessed, blind and

mute; and He healed him, so that the blind and mute man both spoke

and saw (MATTHEW 12:22 NKJV).

For the heart of this people has grown dull. Their ears are hard of

hearing, and their eyes they have closed, lest they should see with their

eyes and hear with their ears, lest they should understand with their

heart and turn, so that I should heal them (MATTHEW 13:15 NKJV).

And when Jesus went out He saw a great multitude; and He was moved

with compassion for them, and healed their sick (MATTHEW 14:14

NKJV).

Then Jesus answered and said to her, “O woman, great is your faith! Let

it be to you as you desire.” And her daughter was healed from that very

hour (MATTHEW 15:28 NKJV).

Then great multitudes came to Him, having with them those who were

lame, blind, mute, maimed, and many others; and they laid them down at

Jesus‟ feet, and He healed them (MATTHEW 15:30 NKJV).

And Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of him; and the child was

cured from that very hour (MATTHEW 17:18 NKJV).

And great multitudes followed Him, and He healed them there (MATTHEW

19:2 NKJV).

Then the blind and the lame came to Him in the temple, and He healed

them (MATTHEW 21:14 NKJV).

Then He healed many who were sick with various diseases, and cast out

many demons; and He did not allow the demons to speak, because they

knew Him (MARK 1:34 NKJV).

CHAPTER 9

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

9.1 Can sin stop the power of God to heal or deliver me?

No. Romans 1:16 tells us the Gospel is the power of God unto salvation.

The word „salvation‟ in the Greek is the word soteria which also means to

heal, to protect, to deliver, to make whole. Your sin wasn‟t able to stop

God from saving you and neither is your sin able to stop Him from

healing or delivering you. To say that God will choose not to heal a sick

person due to his sin is the same as saying that God will not save a

sinner due to his sin. This is because physical healing and forgiveness of

sins are both included in the atonement. If sin could stop the power of

God, sin would be more powerful than the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross.

Now I am not saying sin is fine, but don‟t let it stop you from coming to

God. If your sin could have influenced His love for you, then He wouldn‟t

have sent Jesus to the cross to die for you. We must remember that we

bring absolutely nothing to the table for our righteousness in Christ

because it is the sacrifice of Christ that saves us from our sin, not how

good we have earned it. Thus, the same is true for physical healing. God

is willing to heal us 100%, all the time, simply because it was an

accomplished work of the atonement, not because of how holy we are to

earn our healing.

Furthermore, since the scriptures tells us that no one is without sin

(Romans 3:23, 1 John 1:10), this means that everyone whom Jesus

healed had sins; yet never once did Jesus withhold their healing (Matthew

8:13, Mark. 5:41-42, Luke 8:43-44). Therefore, the explanation that sin is

a reason why God would not heal is unbiblical, not to mention that it also

contradicts Christ‟s accomplished work and promise in the atonement.

And in John 5:5-14 Jesus healed a man with an infirmity for thirty-eight

years. Following this healing, Jesus told the man to “sin no more, lest a

worse thing come upon you” (vs. 14). Clearly, Jesus did not withhold

physical healing from this man even though Jesus knew this man was in

sin. Rather, Jesus chose to demonstrate His love first to heal him, and

then to instruct him to sin no more.

For He healed many, so that as many as had afflictions pressed about

Him to touch Him (MARK 3:10 NKJV).

Now He could do no mighty work there, except that He laid His hands on

a few sick people and healed them.6 And He marvelled because of their

unbelief. Then He went about the villages in a circuit, teaching (MARK

6:5-6 NKJV).

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to

preach the gospel to the poor. He has sent Me to heal the broken-hearted,

to preach deliverance to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to

set at liberty those who are oppressed,” (LUKE 4:18 NKJV).

Now when the sun was setting, all those who had anyone sick with

various diseases brought them to Him; and He laid His hands on every

one of them and healed them (LUKE 4:40 NKJV).

Then the report went around concerning Him all the more; and great

multitudes came together to hear, and to be healed by Him of their

infirmities (LUKE 5:15 NKJV).

And He came down with them and stood on a level place with a crowd of

His disciples and a great multitude of people from all Judea and

Jerusalem, and from the seacoast of Tyre and Sidon, who came to hear

Him and be healed of their diseases, as well as those who were tormented

with unclean spirits. And they were healed. And the whole multitude

sought to touch Him, for power went out from Him and healed them all

(LUKE 6:17-19 NKJV).

Now a woman, having a flow of blood for twelve years, who had spent all

her livelihood on physicians and could not be healed by any, came from

behind and touched the border of His garment. And immediately her flow

of blood stopped (LUKE 8:43-44 NKJV).

Now when the woman saw that she was not hidden, she came trembling;

and falling down before Him, she declared to Him in the presence of all

the people the reason she had touched Him and how she was healed immediately.48

And He said to her, “Daughter, be of good cheer; your faith

has made you well. Go in peace” (LUKE 8:47-48 NKJV).

But when the multitudes knew it, they followed Him; and He received

them and spoke to them about the kingdom of God, and healed those

who had need of healing (LUKE 9:11 NKJV).

And behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen

years, and was bent over and could in no way raise herself up. But when

Jesus saw her, He called her to Him and said to her, “Woman, you are

49

26

loosed from your infirmity.” And He laid His hands on her, and

immediately she was made straight, and glorified God. But the ruler of

the synagogue answered with indignation, because Jesus had healed on

the Sabbath; and he said to the crowd, “There are six days on which men

ought to work; therefore come and be healed on them, and not on the

Sabbath day.” The Lord then answered him and said . . . “So ought not

this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has bound, for

eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath?” (LUKE 13:11-

16 NKJV).

And Jesus, answering, spoke to the lawyers and Pharisees, saying, “Is it

lawful to heal on the Sabbath?” But they kept silent. And He took him

and healed him, and let him go (LUKE 14:3-4 NKJV).

Then as He entered a certain village, there met Him ten men who were

lepers, who stood afar off. And they lifted up their voices and said, “Jesus,

Master, have mercy on us!” So when He saw them, He said to them, “Go,

show yourselves to the priests.” And so it was that as they went, they

were cleansed. Now one of them, when he saw that he was healed,

returned, and with a loud voice glorified God, (LUKE 17:12-15 NKJV).

And one of them struck the servant of the high priest and cut off his right

ear But Jesus answered and said, “Permit even this.” And He touched his

ear and healed him (LUKE 22:50-51 NKJV).

100. As many (sinners) as received him were born of God. As many (sick)

as touched him were made whole. When we preach that it is always God's

will to heal, the question is immediately raised: "How then could we ever

die?" God's word says: You take away their breath, they die, and return to

their dust. The Bible says: You shall come to your grave in a full age, like

as a shock of corn comes in its season. For us to come to our full age and

for God to take away our breath does not require the aid of a disease.

God's will for your death as His child is that, after living a fruitful life,

fulfilling the number of your days, you simply stop breathing and fall

asleep in Christ, to awaken on the other side and live with Him forever.

So shall (you) ever be with the Lord. Indeed, this is the blessed hope of the

righteous. Because you have set your love upon me, God says, therefore

will I deliver you: I will set you on high, because you have known my

name. You shall call upon me, and I will answer you: I will be with you in

trouble; I will deliver you, and honor you. With long life will I satisfy you,

and show you my salvation.

Because you have set your love upon me, God says, therefore will I deliver

you: I will set you on high, because you have known my name. You shall

call upon me, and I will answer you: I will be with you in trouble; I will

deliver you, and honor you. With long life will I satisfy you, and show you

my salvation

Now a certain man was there who had an infirmity thirty-eight years.

When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he already had been in

that condition a long time, He said to him, “Do you want to be made

well?” The sick man answered Him, “Sir, I have no man to put me into the

pool when the water is stirred up; but while I am coming, another steps

down before me.” Jesus said to him, “Rise, take up your bed and walk.”

And immediately the man was made well, took up his bed, and walked.

And that day was the Sabbath (JOHN 5:5-9 NKJV).

And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and signs among

the people (ACTS 6:8 NKJV).

And the multitudes with one accord heeded the things spoken by Philip,

hearing and seeing the miracles which he did. For unclean spirits, crying

with a loud voice came out of many who were Possessed; and many who

were paralyzed and lame were healed (ACTS 8:6-7 NKJV).

There he found a certain man named Aeneas, who had been bedridden

eight years and was paralyzed. And Peter said to him, “Aeneas, Jesus the

27

48

prayer, He has performed something supernatural. That is a miracle. To

deny miracles today is to make a mockery of prayer today.

92. The age of miracles is not past because Jesus, the miracle-worker,

has never changed: Jesus Christ the same yesterday and today and

forever.

93. When Jesus sent His disciples to preach the gospel, He told them:

These (supernatural) signs shall follow them that believe. This was for

every creature, for all nations, until the end of the world. The end of the

world has not yet come, so the age of miracles has not passed. Christ's

commission has never been withdrawn or cancelled.

94. Christ's promise for the spirit that it shall be saved is in His

commission and is for all. His promise for the body, that it shall recover,

is in His commission and is for all. To deny that one part of His

commission is for today is to deny that the other part is for today. As long

as Jesus' commission is in effect, the unsaved can be healed spiritually

and sick people can be healed physically by believing the gospel.

Multiplied thousands of sincere people all over the world are receiving the

benefits of both physical and spiritual healing through their simple faith

in God's promises.

Christ heals you. Arise and make your bed.” Then he arose immediately

(ACTS 9:33-34 NKJV).

And in Lystra a certain man without strength in his feet was sitting, a

cripple from his mother's womb, who had never walked. This man heard

Paul speaking. Paul, observing him intently and seeing that he had faith

to be healed, said with a loud voice, "Stand up straight on your feet!" And

he leaped and walked (ACTS 14:8-10 NKJV).

Now God worked unusual miracles by the hands of Paul, so that even

handkerchiefs or aprons were brought from his body to the sick, and the

diseases left them and the evil spirits went out of them (ACTS 19:11-12

NKJV).

95. Christ bore your sins so that you may be forgiven. Eternal life is

yours. Claim this blessing and confess it by faith; God will make it good

in your life.

96. Christ bore your diseases so that you may be healed. Divine health

is yours. Claim this blessing and confess it by faith; God will manifest it

in your body.

97. Like all of Christ's redemptive gifts, healing must be received by

simple faith alone without natural means and, upon being received, must

be consecrated for Christ's service and glory alone.

98. God is as willing to heal believers as He is to forgive UNbelievers. That

is to say, if when you were unsaved, God was willing to forgive you, now

that you are His child, He is willing to heal you. If He was merciful

enough to forgive you when you were UNconverted, He is merciful enough

to heal you now that you are in His family.

99. You must accept God's promise as true and believe that you are

forgiven before you can experience the joy of spiritual healing. You must

accept God's promise as true and believe that you are healed before you

can experience the joy of physical healing.

CHAPTER 6

PERSONALISED HEALING SCRIPTURES FOR DIVINE HEALTH

The personalized statements from God‟s Word on the following pages are

full of God‟s power. They are God‟s medicine for you. So speak them often

without becoming impatient. They will take root in you, change you, and

bring forth a harvest of health.

SO SPEAK THEM ALOUD!

You are planting seeds of health and feeding your faith as you speak

these words from the Bible.

Jesus is my Lord. God raised Him from the dead. He was my substitute.

He is my Saviour; satan has no power over me. Jesus is my Lord.

(Philippians 2:11; Romans 10:9-10).

I serve the One Whose Name is, “I Am the Lord Who heals you.” (Exodus

15:26).

Jesus is the Healer; satan is the oppressor. For Acts 10:38 says “God

anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, Who

went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed by the devil.”

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, and forever. (Hebrews

13:8)

Jesus came that I may have life and have it in its fullness. (John 10:10)

God desires that I prosper and be in health. (3 John 2)

My God is supplying all I need according to His riches in glory by Christ

Jesus. (Philippians 4:19)

The Lord is my Helper. I will not be afraid. (Hebrews 13:6).

God says in His Word in Joel 3:10, “Let the weak say, I am strong.” I am

strong in the Lord.

God says in His Word in Isaiah 33:24, “The inhabitant will not say, I am

sick.” Therefore I will not say it. I will say what God has said in His Word,

“By His wounds I have been healed.” (1 Peter 2:24)

29

85. Another tradition is that we are not to expect healing for certain

afflictions. People quote the scripture, is any among you afflicted? Let him

or her pray. This again does not refer to sickness, but to the same things

pointed out in number 82.

86. Another tradition is that God chastises His children with sickness.

The scripture is quoted, a part of which says, whom the Lord loves he

chastens. God does chasten those whom He loves, but it does not say that

He makes them sick. The word chasten here means "to instruct, train,

discipline, teach, or educate," like a teacher "instructs" a pupil, or like a

parent "trains and teaches" a child.

87. When a teacher "instructs" a student, various means of discipline

may be employed, but never sickness. When a parent "trains" a child,

there are many ways to chasten, but never by imposing a physical disease

upon it. For our heavenly Father to chasten us does not require that He

lay a disease upon us. Our diseases were laid upon Christ. God could not

require that we bear, as punishment, what Jesus has substantially borne

for us. Christ's sacrifice freed us forever from the curse of sin and disease

which He bore on our behalf.

88. The most common tradition is the worn-out statement: The age of

miracles is past. For this to be true, there would have to be a total

absence of miracles. Even one miracle would prove that the age of

miracles is not past.

89. If the age of miracles is past, no one could be born again because the

new birth is the greatest miracle a person can experience.

90. If the age of miracles is past, as some claim, that would mean that all

the technical evidence produced in hundreds of laboratories of the world,

concerning innumerable cases of miraculous healings is false and that

God's promises to do such things are not for today.

91. Anyone who claims that the age of miracles is past denies the need,

the privileges, and the benefits of prayer. For God to hear and answer

prayer, whether the petition is for a postage stamp or for the healing of a

paralytic, is a miracle. If prayer brings an answer, that answer is a

miracle. If there are no miracles, there is no reason for faith. If there are

no miracles, prayer is mockery and only ignorance would cause anyone to

either pray or expect an answer. God cannot answer prayer without a

miracle. If we pray at all, we should expect that prayer to be answered. If

that prayer is answered, God has done it; and if God has answered

46

76. If God today has abandoned healing in answer to prayer in favour of

healing only by medical science, as modern theology speculates, that

would mean that He requires us to use a less successful method during a

better dispensation. He healed them all then, but today many diseases

are incurable by medical science.

77. Paul tells us that God would have us prepared to every good work,

thoroughly furnished to all good works that we may abound to every good

work. A sick person cannot measure up to these scriptures. These

conditions would be impossible if healing is not for all. Either healing is

for all, or these scriptures do not apply to all.

78. Bodily healing in the New Testament was called a mercy, and it was

God's mercy which always moved Him to heal all the sick. His promise is

that He is plenteous in mercy to all that call on Him that includes you,

today.

79. The correct translation of Isaiah 53:4 is: Surely (or certainly) He has

borne our sicknesses, and carried our pains. To prove that our sicknesses

were carried away by Christ, just like our sins were carried away, the

same Hebrew verb for borne and carried is used to describe both.

80. Christ was made to be sin for us when He bore our sins. He was made

a curse for us when He bore our sicknesses.

81. Since Christ bore our sins, how many is it God's will to forgive?

Answer: Whoever believes. Since Christ bore our sicknesses, how many is

it God's will to heal? Answer: He healed them all.

82. Another tradition is that if we are righteous, we should expect

sicknesses as a part of our life. They quote the scripture: Many are the

afflictions of the righteous, but this does not mean sicknesses as some

would have us believe. It means trials, hardships, persecutions and

temptations, but never sicknesses or physical disabilities.

83. It would be a contradiction to say, "Christ has borne our sicknesses,

and with His stripes we are healed," but then add, "Many are the

sicknesses of the righteous, which He requires us to bear."

84. prove this tradition, theologians quote, But the God of all grace, who

has called us to his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that you have

suffered a while, make you perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.

This suffering does not refer to suffering sickness, but to the many ways

in which God's people have so often had to suffer for their testimony.

45

Jesus says in Mark 11:23, “whoever says to this mountain, Be removed,

and be cast into the sea,‟ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes

that those things he says will come to pass, he will have whatever he

says.” Therefore, mountain of sickness, be removed from me, and be cast

into the sea. You have to because I command it in the authority of Jesus‟

Name. According to Jesus, since I do not doubt in my heart, but I believe

those things I say will come to pass, I will have what I say. Therefore, by

faith, I will say these confessions.

Hebrew 3:1 and 4:14 say Jesus is the High Priest of my confession, so I

will only speak words that I desire Jesus to say about me.

Death and life are in the power of the tongue. Therefore I will speak words

of life.

Jesus says in John 6:63 that His words are life, so I will speak them.

(Proverbs 18:21)

When I speak God‟s Word I am planting good seed in my life. (Luke 8:11)

Hold fast to the confession of God‟s Word without wavering, for He Who

promised is faithful. (Hebrews 10:23; Hebrews 4:14)

I do not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but I am fully

convinced that what He has promised He is also able to perform. (Romans

4:20, 21)

I am not weak in faith, so I do not consider my own body above what God

has said. (Romans 4:19)

I do not put my confidence in the flesh. (Philippians 3:3)

I‟m not moved by what I feel. I‟m not moved by what I see. For I “walk by

faith, not by sight.” (2 Corinthians 5:7) I‟m moved only by what I believe. I

believe the Word of God.

Father, your Word is truth. (John 17:17)

I will give attention to God‟s words; I will incline my ear to His sayings. I

will not let them depart from my eyes. I will keep them in my heart. They

are life to me for I have found them, and they are health, healing and

medicine to all my flesh. (Proverbs 4:20-22)

30

Pleasant words are health, healing and medicine to my bones. (Proverbs

16:24)

God‟s Word of grace builds me up and gives me my inheritance. (Acts

20:32)

Jesus says if I continue in His Word, I will know the truth, and the truth

will make me free. (John 8:31-32)

I have been called to freedom. (Galatians 5:13)

Because I am Christ‟s, I am a child of Abraham, and according to Jesus

in Luke 13:16, I ought to be loosed from all bondage today (because God

shows no partiality). (Acts 10:34; Galatians 3:7, 29)

I am God‟s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus. (Ephesians 2:10)

I am a new creation in Christ Jesus. Old things have passed away. All

things have become new and all things are of God. (2 Corinthians 5:17)

I am complete in Jesus, Who is the head of all rule and authority.

(Colossians 2:10)

My body is the temple of the Holy Spirit Who is in me, and I am not my

own. I am bought at a price. So I will glorify God in my body and my

spirit. (1 Corinthians 6:19-20)

I present my body to God as a living sacrifice. (Romans 12:1)

Which is holy and acceptable unto God, this is my act of worship unto

God. (Romans 12:1)

Christ has redeemed me from the curse of the law, which includes all

sickness. So I forbid all sickness and disease in my body. Every disease

germ and virus that touches my body dies instantly. Every cell, organ,

member, and system of my body functions perfectly, and I forbid any

malfunction, in the supreme authority of the Name of Jesus. (Galatians

3:13; Deuteronomy 28:61; Matthew 16:19; Philippians 2:9)

I am a believer. All things are possible to me. (Mark 9:23)

I can do all things through Christ Who strengthens me. (Philippians 4:13)

The Lord is the strength of my life. (Psalm 27:1)

31

word of God alone, but by getting a special revelation that God has

favoured you and wills to heal you.

67. If God's promises to heal are not for all, then we could not know what

God's will is by reading His word alone. That means we would have to

pray until He speaks directly to us about each case in particular. We

could not consider God's word as directed to us personally, but would

have to close our Bibles and pray for a direct revelation from God to know

if it is His will to heal each case.

68. God's word is His will. God's promises reveal His will. When we read

of what He promises to do, we then know what it is His will to do.

69. Since it is written, Faith comes by hearing the word of God, then the

best way to build faith in your heart that God is willing to heal you is for

you to hear that part of God's word which promises you healing.

70. Faith for spiritual healing comes by hearing the gospel: He bore our

sins. Faith for physical healing comes by hearing the gospel: He bore our

sicknesses.

71. We are to preach the gospel (that He bore our sins) to every creature.

We are to preach the gospel (that He bore our sicknesses) to every

creature.

72. Christ emphasized His promise, If you shall ask anything in my name,

I will do it, by repeating it twice. He did not exclude healing from this

promise. Anything includes healing. This promise is for all.

73. If healing is not for all, Christ should have qualified His promise when

He said, whatever you desire (except healing) when you pray, believe that

you receive it, and you shall have it. But He did not. Healing, therefore, is

included in the whatever. This promise is made to you.

74. If it is not God's will to heal all, His promise would not be dependable

where Christ said, If you live in me, and my words live in you, you shall

ask what you will, and it shall be done to you.

75. James says: Is any sick among you? Call for the elders of the church;

and let them pray over them, anointing them with oil in the name of the

Lord: and the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise

them up. This promise is for all, including you, if you are sick.

44

55. Christ never refused those who sought His healing. Repeatedly, the

Gospels tell us that He healed them all. Christ the healer has never

changed.

56. Only one person in the entire Bible ever asked for healing by saying, If

it be your will. That was the poor leper to whom Jesus immediately

responded, I will; be clean.

57. Another tradition is that we can glorify God more by being patient in

our sickness than by being healed. If sickness glorifies God more than

healing, then any attempt to get well by natural or divine means would be

an effort to rob God of the glory that we should want Him to receive.

58. If sickness glorifies God, then we should rather be sick than well.

59. If sickness glorifies God, Jesus robbed His Father of all the glory that

He possibly could by healing everyone, and the Holy Spirit continued

doing the same throughout the Acts of the Apostles.

60. Paul says you are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your

body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

61. Our bodies and our spirits are bought with a price. We are to glorify

God in both.

62. We do not glorify God in our spirit by remaining in sin. We do not

glorify God in our body by remaining sick.

63. John's Gospel is used to prove that sickness glorifies God; but God

was not glorified in this case until Lazarus was raised up from the dead,

the result of which was, many of the Jews believed on him.

64. Another tradition is that while God heals some, it is not His will to

heal all. But Jesus, who came to do the Father‟s, will, did heal them all.

65. If healing is not for all, why did Jesus bear our sicknesses, our pains,

and our diseases? If God wanted some of His children to suffer, then

Jesus relieved us from bearing something which God wanted us to bear.

But since Jesus came to do the will of the Father, and since He has borne

our diseases, it must be God's will for all to be well.

66. If it is not God's will for all to be healed, then God's promises to heal

are not for all. That would mean that faith does not come by hearing the

43

I am strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. (Ephesians 6:10)

Greater is He that is in me than he (the defeated one), that is in the

world, (who is the author of sickness). (1 John 4:4; Acts 10:38; Luke

13:16)

My Father has made me able to be a partaker of my inheritance. He has

delivered me from the authority of darkness, and has translated me into

the kingdom of His dear Son, in whom I have my redemption through His

blood. (Colossians 1:12-14)

I am an overcomer and I overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word

of my testimony. (1 John 4:4; Revelation 12:11)

I am submitted to God by being submitted to His Word, and the devil

flees from me because I resist him in the supreme authority of the Name

of Jesus. (James 4:7; Mark 16:17)

No weapon formed against me shall prosper, for my righteousness is of

the Lord. (Isaiah 54:17; 1 Corinthians 1:30)

There shall nothing evil happen to me, neither shall any plague or

sickness come near me. (Psalm 91:10)

Jesus gave me authority over all the power of the enemy, and nothing

shall hurt me. (Luke 10:19; Mark 16:17)

I do not return evil for evil, but on the contrary blessing, that I may

obtain a blessing. (1 Peter 3:9)

I forgive others freely as God has forgiven me. I don‟t hold anything

against anyone. (Ephesians 4:32; Mark 11:25)

I refrain my tongue from evil. I turn away from evil and do good. I seek

peace and pursue it. So I will love life and see good days. (1 Peter 3:10,

11)

I have a merry heart and that does me good like medicine. (Proverbs

17:22)

I have cast all my cares on the Lord for He cares for me. I refuse to worry

about anything. (1 Peter 5:7)

32

I serve the Lord my God, and He blesses my bread, and my water, and He

has taken sickness away from me. For Jesus, Himself, took my infirmities

and bore my sicknesses away. (Exodus 23:25; Matthew 8:17)

Surely He has borne my sicknesses and carried my pains, yet we did

esteem Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded

for my transgressions, He was bruised for my iniquities, the chastisement

for my peace was upon Him, and by His stripes I am healed. (Isaiah 53:4,

5)

Christ my Passover was sacrificed for me. So all sickness and death has

to pass over me and my household. (1 Corinthians 5:7; Exodus 12)

I am blessed above all people. The Lord has taken away from me all

sickness. (Deuteronomy 7:14, 15)

God sent His Word and healed me, and delivered me from destruction.

(Psalm 107:20)

The number of my days God will fulfill. (Exodus 23:26)

Bless the Lord, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His holy Name!

Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all

my iniquities, Who heals all my diseases, Who redeems my life from

destruction, Who crowns me with loving-kindness and tender mercies,

Who satisfies my mouth with good things, so that my youth is renewed

like the eagle‟s. (Psalm 103:1-5)

JESUS LOVES ME!

46. Jesus said that He would continue His same works through believers

while He is with the Father. Verily, verily, I say to you, the person that

believes on me, the works that I do shall he or she do also; and greater

works than these shall they do; because I go to my father. This certainly

includes healing the sick.

47. In connection with the Lord's Supper, the cup is taken in

remembrance of His blood which was shed for the remission of our sins.

The bread is eaten in remembrance of His body on which were laid our

diseases and the stripes by which we are healed.

48. Jesus said that certain teachers were making the word of God of no

effect through (their) tradition. Human ideas and theories have for

centuries hindered the healing part of the gospel from being proclaimed

and acted upon as it was by the early church.

49. One tradition is that God wills some of His children to suffer sickness

and that; therefore, many who are prayed for are not healed because it is

not His will to heal them. When Jesus healed the demon-possessed boy

whom the disciples could not heal, He proved that it is God's will to heal

even those who fail to receive healing; furthermore, He assigned the

failure to the disciples to cure the boy, not to God's will, but to the

disciples' unbelief.

50. The failure of many to be healed today when prayed for is never

because it is not God's will to heal them.

51. If sickness is the will of God, then every physician would be a

lawbreaker, every trained nurse a defier of the Almighty, and every

hospital a house of rebellion instead of a house of mercy.

52. Since Christ came to do the Father's will, the fact that He healed them

all is proof that it is God's will that all be healed.

53. If it is not God's will for all to be healed, how did everyone in the

multitudes obtain from Christ what was not God's will for some of them

to receive? The gospel says, He healed them all.

54. If it is not God's will for all to be healed, why do the scriptures state:

With his stripes, we are healed and by whose stripes, you were healed?

How could we and you be declared healed, if it is God's will for some of us

to be sick?

33

42

32. Satan is a killer; his diseases are the destroyers of life. His sicknesses

are the thieves of happiness, health, money, time, and effort. Christ came

to give us abundant life in our spirits and in our bodies.

33. We are promised the life of Jesus in our mortal flesh

34. We are taught that the Spirit's work is to quicken our mortal bodies in

this life.

35. Satan's work is to kill. Christ's work is to give life.

36. Satan is bad. God is good. Bad things come from Satan. Good things

come from God.

37. Sickness is, therefore, from Satan. Health is, therefore, from God.

38. All authority and power over all devils and diseases was given to every

disciple of Christ. Since Jesus said, If you continue in my word, then are

you my disciples indeed these scriptures apply to you today, that is, if you

continue in (act on) His word.

39. The right to pray and receive the answer is given to every believer. If

you shall ask anything in my name, I will do it. This logically includes

asking for healing, if we are sick.

40. Everyone that asks receives. That promise is for you. It includes

everyone who is sick.

41. The ministry of healing was given to the seventy, who represent the

future workers of the church.

42. It was given to all them that believe the gospel, them that act on the

gospel, or the practisers or doers of the word.

CHAPTER 7

PRINCIPLES OF DIVINE HEALING

BASIC BIBLICAL PRINCIPLES FOR HEALING

I. THE MIND OF CHRIST TOWARDS SICKNESS AND THE SICK

Sickness is the devil‟s work and Jesus came to destroy the works

of the devil. (Acts 10:38, 1 John. 3:8)

Healing is always God‟s will. God never causes illness or delays

healing to teach us a lesson; it is never His will for us to be sick.

(The gospels, James 5:13-16)

God is an equal opportunity healer and is never the cause of a

delay of healing. Today is the day and NOW is the time of

salvation. (2 Corinthians 6:2)

Healing for every illness has already been provided in our

salvation by the cross of Christ. (Isaiah 53:4-5)

God‟s desire is to heal all of our diseases just as He forgives all of

our sins. Healing is as much a benefit of the New Covenant as

forgiveness. (Psalm 103:3, Isaiah 53:4-5, 1 Peter 2:24)

Just as there is no one so bad God will not forgive, there is no one

who is so bad that God will not heal.

God will heal anyone through any believer, because it is not about

us, but about His goodness.

II. THE AUTHORITY TO HEAL

43. It is committed to the elders of the church.

44. It is bestowed upon the whole church as one of its ministries and

gifts, until Jesus comes.

45. Jesus never commissioned anyone to preach the gospel without

including healing for the sick. He said, whatever city you enter, heal the

sick that are there. That command still applies to the ministry today.

41

Jesus healed them all, regardless of their level of faith, if they

wanted to be healed.

We are commanded to heal all of the sick; we do not need a

special “leading or unction” to obey God‟s command to “heal the

sick”.

God‟s will is for us to expect to receive divine healing every time.

Healing is our right, purchased for us by the stripes delivered to

the back of Jesus Christ.

34

Every believer is already an “heir” of all the authority needed for

healing. We are sons of God.

(suffering for), not sympathy (suffering with). If Christ has borne our

sicknesses, why should we bear them?

God is willing to minister healing and creative miracles through

any believer.

All believers can minister healing effectively; some have developed

specialized gifts of healing.

Every believer is God‟s child, man‟s servant and the devil‟s master.

We have authority to cast out even the devils that people think

they want to keep. (Acts 16:16-18)

III. MINISTER HEALING WITH RESULTS

‣ In Jesus‟ Name, lay hands on the sick and they shall recover.

‣ The main hindrance to receiving healing believing that there are

hindrances to healing.

‣ Jesus never asked Father God to heal anyone, He commanded

healing and deliverance.

‣ Jesus healed thousands at a time without requiring them to

repent or believe first. New Testament believers followed this

pattern. (Acts 3:2-8)

‣ The Authority of Jesus Christ, not great faith, is the key to

receiving divine healing from disease. (Acts 3:12-16)

‣ Jesus was never prevented from healing due to the sins of the sick

person or the sins of their ancestors.

‣ Jesus taught the disciples to command spirits of infirmity to leave

rather than to intercede. (Matthew 10:8)

‣ We command the healing power of God with impartiality and it

flows every time. (Matthew 10:8)

‣ The disciples did not “intercede” for healing; they ministered

healing through command, touch or both. (Acts)

35

22. Christ fulfilled Isaiah's words: He healed all that were sick.

23. Sickness is revealed as coming directly from Satan. So Satan went

forth and smote Job with sore boils from the sole of his foot to his crown.

Job maintained steadfast faith as he cried out to God for deliverance, and

he was healed.

24. Christ declared that the infirm woman was bound by Satan and

ought to be loosed. He cast out the spirit of infirmity, and she was healed.

25. A devil which possessed a man was the cause of his being both blind

and dumb. When the devil was cast out, he could both see and talk.

26. A demon was the cause of a boy being deaf and dumb and also the

cause of his convulsions. When the demon was cast out, the boy was

healed.

27. It is written: Jesus of Nazareth went about doing good, and healing all

that were oppressed of the devil. This scripture shows that sickness is

Satan's oppression.

28. We are told: The Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the

works of the devil. Sickness is part of Satan's works. Christ, in His earthly

ministry, always treated sin, diseases, and devils the same. They were all

hateful in His sight. He rebuked them all. He was manifested to destroy

them all.

29. He does not want the works of the devil to continue in our physical

bodies. He was manifested to destroy them. He does not want a cancer, a

plague, a curse, the works of the devil, to exist in His own members.

Know you not that your bodies are the members of Christ?

30. Jesus said, The Son of man is not come to destroy human lives, but to

save them. Sickness destroys; therefore, it is not from God. Christ came

to save us (Greek: sozo, meaning to deliver us, to save and preserve us, to

heal us, to give us life, to make us whole), but never to destroy us.

31. Jesus said: The thief (speaking of Satan) comes not, but to steal, and to

kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they

might have it more abundantly.

40

11. There were no exceptions then, their remedy was for everyone that is

bitten. There are no exceptions today, our remedy is for whoever believes.

12. Everyone was commanded to individually look at the remedy then.

Everyone is commanded to individually believe on Christ today.

13. They did not need to beg nor make an offering to God then. There was

only one condition: When they look. We do not need to beg nor make an

offering to Christ today. There is only one condition: Whoever believes.

14. They were not told to look to Moses, but rather to the remedy then.

We are not told to look to the preacher, but to Christ today.

15. They were not to look to the symptoms of their snakebites then, but

rather to their remedy. We are not to look to the symptoms of our sins

and diseases today, but to our remedy, Christ.

16. Everyone that is bitten, when he or she looks upon it, shall live was

the promise to all then, without exception. Whoever believes in him

should not perish, but have everlasting life is the promise to all today,

without exception.

17. Since their curse was removed by the lifting up of the "type" of Christ,

our curse was certainly removed by Christ Himself.

18. The "type" of Christ could not mean more then to those Israelites,

than Christ means to us today. Surely they, through only a "type" of

Christ, could not receive more blessings which we cannot receive today

through Christ Himself.

19. God promises protection for our bodies as well as for our spirits, if we

live in Him. In the New Testament, John wishes above all things that you

may prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers. Both scriptures

show that God's will is that we be as healthy in our bodies as we are in

our spirits. It is never God's will for our spirits to be sick. It is never God's

will for our bodies to be sick.

20. King Asa died in his sickness because he sought not the Lord, but to

the physicians; while Hezekiah lived because he sought not to the

physicians, but to the Lord.

21. The removal of our diseases is included in Christ's redemptive work,

along with the removal of our sins. The word bore implies substitution

39

‣ Our traditions about healing have hindered us from

demonstrating the power of God.

‣ Unconfessed sins may make people sick but they do not keep

them from being healed. (James 5:13-16)

‣ We are not to judge who is confessed up, in faith and ready to be

healed. We are deliverers, not judges.(Matthew 10:8)

‣ Healing sometimes takes time to manifest, while miracles are

usually instant. So exercise the authority of God‟s word by faith

for healing until you see the results.

IV. THE POWER OF GOD FOR HEALING

• The Baptism of the Holy Spirit is given so that we can minister in

the power of God.

• Believers already have 100% of the Holy Spirit — all that we will

ever have or need. We need to walk in what we have to become

more effective in using what we‟ve got.

• We do not wait for a “special leading” to obey God‟s command. The

Holy Spirit helps us obey. Signs and wonders follow our belief.

(Mark 16:17-18)

• Because Christ is in me, I already have all the power and

anointing that I will need. (1 John 2:27; 4:8)

• God‟s anointing abides within me, is always ready to heal and is

always on. (1 John 2:27; 4:8)

• Christ, in me, is always instantly available to destroy the works of

the devil through me. (1 John 3:8; 4:8)

• We are to command the power of God without picking and

choosing who is worthy.

• We don‟t beg God for their healing; we proclaim freedom for the

captives or prisoners. God‟ Word declares His faithfulness to back

our words spoken in authority.

• God never withholds any good thing from me and will heal me

every time I ask.

36

V. EXHORTATIONS TO THOSE WHO ARE HEALED

CHAPTER 8

Refuse to receive spirits of infirmity or symptoms back again.

Command them to leave in the Name of Jesus Christ. Maintain

your healing by personally exercising the authority of God‟s word.

Jesus Christ purchased your healing through His suffering is to

be ministered freely by believers. Jesus told those He sends,

“Freely you received. Freely give.” Anyone attempting to charge

you money for healing is not of God.

37

HUNDRED DIVINE HEALING FACTS

1. Sickness is no more natural than sin. God made all things very good.

Therefore, we should not look for the remedy of sin or sickness in the

natural, but from God who created us happy, strong, healthy, and to

fellowship with Him.

2. Both sin and sickness came into the world through the fall of the

human race. Therefore, we must look for the healing of both in the

saviour of the human race.

3. When God called His children out of Egypt, He made a covenant of

healing with them. Throughout their history, we find them in sickness

and in pestilence, turning to God in repentance and confession; and,

always, when their sins were forgiven, their sicknesses were healed.

4. God healed those who were bitten by fiery serpents as they looked at a

brazen serpent on a pole, which is a type of Calvary. If everyone who

looked at the brazen serpent was healed then, it is logical that everyone

who looks at Jesus now can be healed.

5. Jesus said: As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so (for

the same purpose) must the Son of man be lifted up.

6. The people had sinned against God then. Humankind has sinned

against God today.

7. The poisonous serpent's bite resulted in death then. Sin results in

death today.

8. The people cried to God then, and He heard their cry and provided a

remedy by the serpent lifted up. Those who cry to God today discover that

God has heard their cry, and has provided them a remedy through Christ

lifted up.

9. The remedy was for everyone that is bitten then. The remedy is for

whoever believes today.

10. In their remedy they received both forgiveness for their sins and

healing for their bodies. In Christ, we receive both forgiveness for our sins

and healing for our sick bodies.
