About the Cover
The bearded bull on the cover is taken from a closeup
of the harp shown on the right. From the Royal
Graves at Ur of the Chaldees, it is Sumerian and dates
from about 2600 B.C. The harp belonged to Queen
Shub-Ad and is made of gold with inlays of lapis lazuli
and ivory.
