The Young Artists Fund
Young harpists are invited to give recitals under the
auspices of the American Harp Society. A tour of cities
in which there are Chapters can be arranged and this
offers a fine opportunity for the young artist. Please
direct inquiries to The American Harp Society, Inc.,
6331 Quebec Dr., Hollywood, CA 90068.
The following guidelines for these concerts have been
adopted by the Board of Directors:
1. The Society will pay a fee of $100.00 per concert
to the performing harpist.
2. The Society will pay transportation expenses of
the harpist.
3. The Chapter will assume all other expenses.
4. The Chapter will retain the profits from the concert,
but it is suggested that a portion of the profit
over $ I 00.00 be returned to the Young Artists
Fund.
5. The Board of Directors or the Executive Committee
will act on each request individually,
taking into account the practicality of the proposal
and the funds available.
6. All applications must include the following: A list
of qualifications with supportive material including
a sample program, recommendations, and a
tape of not less than 40 minutes duration.
7. All harpists participating in the program must be
members of the American Harp Society.
Marcel Grandjany Fund
The Board of Directors has established the Marcel
Grandjany Fund. Its purpose is to improve the quality
of performance by harpists through supporting educational
programs for students and through subsidizing
concerts by young artists.
The Society will welcome contributions in Mr.
Grandjany's honor to support this worthy goal. Checks
should be made payable to the American Harp Society,
Inc., and sent to the Treasurer; Gertrude Hustana, I 03 7
J amacha Road, El Cajon, CA 92020. Contributions are
tax deductible.
