and support businesses in your community
Hell yes, free coffee!
If you could shed the expectations,
socially and personally, that are put on
you, what would you become if you
returned to yourself, to wholeness? If
you could be authentically you, creating
a purposeful, larger than life existence
based on questions like:
Why do you wake up in the morning?
What change do you want to see in this
world? What world do you want to leave
to your kids, and to their kids? What will
be your legacy?
The founders of Bonobo, Annelies
Basten & Deane Simmonds, went through
a journey of transformation as they set
a goal to create a more meaningful life,
a life in line with their values and for
the betterment of our planet, and on a
smaller scale, our community.
Bonobo is at the centre of what
unearthed when they were inspired and
challenged by the big questions above.
Born from the aim to spread a ripple of
kindness, and causing the least amount of
harm, was a hospitality venture that sets
out to create a happy work environment,
a community of like-minded people,
deep and positive connections, and an
introduction to living solely off plants.
Following from that, is the creation
of a regenerative garden just down the
road, that will provide the café with
spray-free produce grown in healthy soil
created from their own coffee grounds
and scraps, closing the loop, decreasing
the carbon footprint and recreating a
connection with the land, improving
communal and individual health.
As soon as you step into Bonobo’s
grounds, you feel there is a different
energy to the place; you cannot put your
finger on it, but it feels lighter, brighter
and positive. You can tell a lot of love and
care goes into the running of this busy
little hub, as goes into everything they
serve.
If you have never
had an oat latte, this
is the place to give it
a go. Annelies says
right from the start,
they implemented a
‘try before you buy’
kind of policy: if you
do not have a positive
coffee experience, you
do not have to pay
for it! Furthermore,
if you have never had
tofu in your life, they
are happy to give
you a sample of this
versatile, delicious plant protein.
At Bonobo, there is cabinet food and
a menu packed with your favourite
breakfast and lunch options. There is
something for everyone, including a kids
menu which functions as a colouring in
artwork to keep them happy, too.
Each and every dish served looks like a
work of art, and is carefully put together
to create the perfect
combination of
tastes and textures.
On Friday evenings
the courtyard gets
packed with people
winding down their
week with refreshing
cocktails, while
listening to the
uplifting sounds of
the DJ.
If you got to this
point and you are still reading, enjoy a
free coffee at Bonobo until 28th February
with the code ‘HELLYES’.
Bonobo is open Tuesday to Thursday
7am to 3pm, Friday 7am to 8pm, and
Saturday/Sunday 7.30am to 3pm.
