SATB and organ<br />

THIS Service can be sung by either men, or women, or both. If by men only, it may be advisable to<br />

use the alternatives printed in small notes, thus avoiding the high notes. Choirmasters can use their<br />

discretion in apportioning various passages to different groups. Antiphonal singing can be arranged<br />

between men and women, men and boys, choir and congregation, or between a few <strong>voices</strong> and the<br />

whole choir. There are other places besides those marked in the Evening Service where this may be<br />

done.<br />

It is possible to play the accompaniment on an instrument without pedals. If this is done, the small<br />

notes should be omitted, and also the pedal part when it is an octave below the next part above.<br />
