We are delighted to invite you to join us for the 12th Annual San Diego Food Bank
Gala on Saturday, April 27th, benefitting the Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank!
As Co-Chairs for this year’s Gala, we
can tell you we have an exciting evening
in store for you! Our outstanding Gala
Committee has been hard at work
bringing fun ideas and creative visions
to life to celebrate the Food Bank’s
critical mission and to inspire this year’s
attendees to support the Food Bank’s
important work.
The experience from start to finish will
be a memorable one as we all gather one
night at one warehouse for one cause –
the San Diego Food Bank’s mission to

end hunger in San Diego County.
As dedicated supporters of the Food Bank for many years, we are constantly in
awe of the impactful programs and work the Food Bank is doing to help the more
than 400,000 people each month facing food insecurity in our community.
One of these programs, the Food 4 Kids Backpack Program ensures that children
living in poverty have access to healthy, nutritious food over the weekend when
free school meals are not available to them. As mothers, this program is especially
meaningful to us as it is difficult to comprehend any young child not having access
to enough food over the weekend when they are not in school.
The Food 4 Kids Backpack Program currently serves approximately 3,500
elementary school children countywide at 76 elementary schools, in 19 school
districts. Thanks to the incredible generosity of guests at last year’s Gala, we were
able to expand this program to these amazing numbers. With your help at this
year’s Gala, we can take even more children off the waitlist and give them the hope
and nourishment they need to thrive!
Whether it’s through the Food 4 Kids Backpack Program or any of the Food Bank’s
other programs, every week, the Food Bank is helping thousands of local families.
And because of their efficiency in leveraging every monetary gift they receive, the
Food Bank is able to turn every $1 donated into enough food for two meals!
You can see why we are passionate about the San Diego Food Bank, and we
encourage you to join us for this fabulous night in support of this very critical
cause… and remember to bring your dancing shoes!
