Dancing to a global beat<br />

It was an evening to<br />

remember as <strong>Keppel</strong>ites and<br />

guests were treated to an<br />

explosion of musical talents<br />

from across the globe at the<br />

World of Music, Arts and<br />

Dance (WOMAD) festival.<br />

Taking place from 24 to 26<br />

August 2007 at the Fort<br />

Canning Park, it marked<br />

WOMAD’s 10th year in<br />

Singapore. This is also<br />

<strong>Keppel</strong> Offshore & Marine’s<br />

(<strong>Keppel</strong> O&M) second year of<br />

partnership with WOMAD.<br />

<strong>Keppel</strong> O&M sponsored the<br />

Brazilian Samba sensation,<br />

Clube Do Balanço, a<br />

household name in Brazil.<br />

The band had the crowd<br />

gyrating to their infectious<br />

beats.<br />

<strong>Keppel</strong>ites and customers<br />

alike enjoyed the great<br />

view of the performances<br />

from <strong>Keppel</strong>’s hospitality tent<br />

while being treated to the<br />

lavish Spanish cuisine.<br />

Good music, food and friends at WOMAD<br />

Woodside Energy, one of<br />

<strong>Keppel</strong> Shipyard’s customers,<br />

shared, “It was good to meet<br />

outside of work and enjoy<br />

the great company of our<br />

<strong>Keppel</strong> friends amidst<br />

excellent music.”<br />

Apart from the music and<br />

dance performed at four<br />

different locations of Fort<br />

Canning, festival goers were<br />

also treated to a slew of<br />

workshops and culinary<br />

tasting sessions.<br />

At a specially arranged<br />

workshop by <strong>Keppel</strong>,<br />

Daara J, a hip-hop trio<br />

from Senegal, brought the<br />

audience to their feet with<br />

their groovy moves<br />

accompanied by traditional<br />

African rhythms.<br />

Russian Maritime Register<br />

of Shipping found himself<br />

basking in the atmosphere.<br />

He shared, “We enjoyed<br />

ourselves very much tonight.<br />

The music was beautiful. We<br />

have a very good relationship<br />

with <strong>Keppel</strong> and this gave us<br />

a chance to relax and have<br />
