MORBIDELLI P800: A BETTER WORKING
EXPERIENCE
A CNC machining centre for drilling,
routing and edgebanding, the
morbidelli p800 is developed by SCM
for furniture manufacturers that wish
to increase their performance and
improve their competitiveness in the
manufacturing of custom products.
It is ideal for just-in-time production
and for creating panels that are ready
for assembly — from office furniture
to bedrooms, and custom designs for
stores and interiors, thus catering
to various demands of the furniture
industry.
According to SCM, the morbidelli
p800’s TV MATIC automatic worktable
offers high productivity for low-batch
production as it can be set up in “a
few seconds”, moving simultaneously
all the rails and pods with minimal
mistakes. With the TV MATIC, the
morbidelli p800 requires “zero”
maintenance since there are no
external tubes, there are vacuum
plugs on the movable bases of the rail,
and there are integrated air blowers
on the bases for cleanliness. It also
allows multiple parts to be cut from a
single panel and to be relocated on
the table to apply different machining
operations. This offers minimum
waste and maximum efficiency of raw
materials.
With the NC worktable of the
morbidelli p800, setup time is
minimised when switching from one
machining operation to the next. The
NC worktable features a workpiece
automatic separation software
function, which means the operator
can machine more panels within a
single loading operation.
The morbidelli p800 also ensures
high-quality edge application,
even for joins on workpieces with
challenging geometries. This is
possible with the Sbrindle device on
the morbidelli p800, which reads the
position of the edging “on-the-fly”,
as described by SCM. This ensures
optimal 0-360° joins, even in batchsize-one
production.
Similar to the morbidelli p200,
the p800 is equipped with SCM’s
Maestro edge software, simplifying
programming for all operators and
maximising machining speed. The
morbidelli p800 is also equipped with
a pressure roller automatic change
system, allowing the solution to
automatically change the pressure
roller in pushing the strip towards the
panel, thus carrying out the branding
operation. P
