Bible Shipping - We continue to "ship" Bibles to the persecuted
and underground church in Ir@n. To date we have shipped
360,000 Bibles. Lord willing we will go well over 400,000 this
year. Pray that every load safely makes it to the hands of all the
new believers who need them. How exciting it is to receive your
first and very own Bible. Pray that this door stays open as it
seems to be getting harder and harder. We had a rough couple
of months but it eventually all worked out.
Family picture in Hakkari Eastern Turkey. Near Noah's Ark. We
took a family road trip from Iraq to Eastern Turkey this year.
We found a small ski area with $8 ski rentals and free lifts
during the week! In these mountains of eastern Turkey Noah's
Ark came to rest. For 1900 years these mountains were filled
with Christians and stone churches. Apart from the Armenian
genocide, there was also the Safo Genocide 100 years ago. In
this town where we skied 10,000 Christians were murdered. It
happened in all these mountain villages. In a strange way it
seems their blood still calls out to us. Ironically, the people
living here now are very kind and hospitable to us. Those who
fled and survived became the families who are now our
neighbors in N. Iraq. It happened because demographics
changed. A well-established Christian majority slowly became
the hated minority when aggressive Islamic foreigners began
flooding into their beautiful country. Sound familiar?
Camp Master Plan - Many churches and denominations have
campgrounds in the US. Here in Iraq that has never
happened. We are some of the first missionaries to ever buy
land in Iraq. I feel like God is leading us to develop this land
into a multipurpose camp. With this camp, we develop our
own economy hosting family camps, children's camps, English
camps, weddings, river rafting, agricultural projects, events,
picnics, and conferences. When churches aren't using the
camp it will be open to the public. With this, we can host
more interns and mission teams. Account #1105
