Dear friends,
• Per and Abbi Akvist, PCG Mission to Ethiopia • Spring 2024 •
**THIS IS A CALL FOR ACTION, AND I AM READY TO TAKE OFF THE GLOVES!**
Today, I want to reach out to YOU and every single PCG member in America. I am your representative for the continent of Africa, and
we need to team up in a greater way! - Allow me to explain!
When I was asked to take on the position of African supervisor, I went into a time
of deep prayer where I waited and sought the Lord. After about two weeks, He
confirmed this new calling on my life, and it came with such an uplifting joy and
strong conviction in my spirit that I knew it could only be from our Lord and
Savior. The words "Africa, Arise" resonated within me, becoming my new passion
and conviction in serving.
As I started to learn more and more about PCG Africa, I realized that in order to
create sustainable change, we need to have the Word of God available for
everyone, from the layman to top leadership.
In 2019, we started a Bible school in Ndola, Zambia. I knew we had to be effective
but also keep the expenses low. This was accomplished by teaching five modules
per academic year, with each module lasting 8-10 days and teaching from morning to evening. Intensive but effective. I've partnered
with Bishop Charles from Malawi and appointed him to be the Dean of the Bible school. He traveled for two days on a public bus, in
each direction, to help keep down the expenses. I only came for the first start-up
module and also the last to be able to conduct the graduation.
This is the first Bible school in the history of PCG Zambia, and after three years, we
ordained 27 new ministers. Together with Bishop Charles, we have opened similar
Bible schools in Malawi and Mozambique. Last December, we had our first
graduating class from the Bible school in Mozambique.
Sadly, for 2024, we cannot continue
Bible teaching in any of these places
because the PCG Africa account is
empty. I feel a deep sense of shame
mixed with frustration. Shame that
we as a denomination cannot
mobilize funds for the mission we have already committed to. Frustration in that the need
is so great, but the means so little – or, no means, as it stands right now.
On a personal note, I do not receive any salary from the PCG. You may think I benefit
financially from your donations, but that is incorrect. Everything goes straight to ministry.
I do receive about $1,000/month for my family expenses, but my home country of Sweden
believes that amount is too little to get by on. I am actually listed as being a low-income
earner in my home county, which I find ironic since I have devoted my life to helping those
who are truly poor.
I am calling out to you today to make a difference for PCG Africa! It is possible to turn things around if we all feel the call of God; it can
be done! I am just as confident today in what the Lord instilled in me back in 2019 – AFRICA, ARISE. Let's take on this challenge together!
Family Mercy House • Spring 2024 •
Dear Friends,
Family Mercy House had an end-of-semester evaluation in January. We invited several guests who were professionals themselves, and
asked them to evaluate our student's work thus far. In the hairdressing class, the students demonstrated different techniques for
washing hair. It might be a little difficult to understand, but African hair requires extra
knowledge due to its texture. There are also special techniques to get the small natural
curls straight because many want their hair straight, and it is important to know how to
do it so as not to damage the hair. Then, each student should be able to style, curl, and
create various hairstyles. In addition, they had to take a test on how to treat and serve
customers.
The women could show their new skills to a
professional hairstylist who has her own
hair salon. The businesswoman could also
share her work experience in the trade with
the students. All the students were
encouraged and motivated to continue their studies, and of course, their performances
were fantastic!
The women in the sewing class proudly displayed their creations, which they had made
during their training, such as aprons, t-shirts, and skirts. In addition to the vocational
training, they have all been taught how to knit and crochet. Some have become so proficient that they are already selling their knitted
products to friends and others.
Biruktawit is just 20 years old and was born
into a very poor family in the Ethiopian
countryside. In her early years, she had to
move to her aunt's home in Addis Ababa to have better educational opportunities.
Unfortunately, she didn't do well and couldn't continue. Then she tried to find a private
clothing design course, but it was far too expensive. She felt like a failure and went into
depression and total hopelessness.
Eden and Biruktawit became good friends during the sewing class. Together, they have
started to create their own designs and are already building a market for their products.
Eden is only 23 years old. Unfortunately, her parents divorced when she was a small child,
and she grew up with her grandmother, who
also cared for eight other children from
different parts of the family. Life was really
hard for her.
Stories like this make me so happy, and it is very encouraging to see these creative girls thriving and doing what they love. It motivates
us to keep pressing forward. We know that a difference is being made in the struggle against poverty. Thank you for your continued
partnership as more young lives are changed.
With love, Abbi and the team
WAY WALKER MINISTRIES
PATHWAYS
As Way Walker Ministries excitedly prepares for the next trip to share the Gospel along Spain’s historic
Camino de Santiago, we are continually reminded both of God’s provision and of His faithfulness. Here
are a few highlights of where we have been and where the team is headed!
--In January, we were able to attend two PCG Encounter Conferences and were also given opportunity
to share at a few PCG churches. This was a huge blessing to us as we made new contacts throughout the
United States.
The Mission: To deliver the
Gospel Message to seekers
on the Camino de Santiago
and develop pathways for
ongoing discipleship.
--We continue to partner with PCG Global Education to create an internship that will take place upon
the Camino de Santiago as part of the Missionary Development Path. This training will present opportunity
and experience for students who are called to missions while pursuing an evangelism track. While
here in the States, we have been working diligently to produce curriculum that will be used to help train
and equip these teams of future evangelists.
--We are also in the process of developing new partnerships to create a network that will train and
equip evangelists at the church level, and then apply “hands-on” field experience both at home and in
Spain. The overall objective is two-fold. First, that those who return will be bold and on fire for the Lord,
sharing the Gospel everywhere that they go. Next, and possibly with a greater scope and sequence, that
those who return from this training and experience will then train up others in their church circles to
boldly live out and share their faith!
During our fall trip to Spain (August-November), we intend to once again walk the entire Camino de
Santiago, sharing the message of Christ and continuing to network with individuals and organizations
already working along the trail. Additionally, we have also agreed to spend part of our 90-day trip in
France with the PCG Research and Development Project which seeks to open new pathways for those
called to the mission field. There we will observe and assess the spiritual climate and potential for future
PCG missionaries to serve there.
Way Walker Ministries is building momentum and continuing to move forward in God’s perfect timing.
We are very encouraged about how the Way Walker vision is both expanding and coming into greater
focus. We have spoken to many people who are excited about the potential to not only reach seekers
on the Camino, but also to train and disciple others here at home. Thank you for your constant prayers
and support!
Blessings and Buen Camino,
Dear Friends and Family,
Greetings in Jesus’ Wonderful Name!
Russian ministry extends into the 30th year, as
faithful support funded projects last summer
and this winter in 2 village churches…without
divulging locations or details of aid here.
Please note our change of US mailing address
(above right), as we have returned to our Joplin
property acquired 30 years ago. Bless you all.
Thank God for our sweet sister, Yuzna!
Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus to all of you from Macedonia.
I would like to share with you what God has been doing in the last month in our life and ministry:
Evangelical church Bitola:
We Praise God for a young boy from Bitola, his name is Darko (18 years old), he recently became a believer
and he begged his pastor Josip for a whole month to baptize him. The pastor told him that it's winter and
they don't have an indoor pool, so it's best to wait until summer, but he was persistent. And so, on December
28, Darko was baptized in the cold waters of Lake Prespa. He was so happy that he was jumping from joy. In
his confession of faith, when asked if he would follow Christ, he answered: "Yes, I am ready to leave the
world and sin and live only for Jesus, to go to the end of the world and to die for Him, if necessary." Pastor
Josip, who baptized him, said: May God give us at least 2.000 such zealous believers, like him.” Please pray for
Darko, that may keep his heart in fire, for Jesus and that God may use him for His glory.
Evangelical church in Kochani
Recently, God has honored them with a lot of young people. Every night, from Monday to Friday, they have
prayer night and thank God for those who have understood the importance of prayer.
Please pray for this group of young people. Photo attached.
Also, together with Bible League, fourteen of those young people are going through training for mission and
church planting. Please hold them in prayer to endure till the end of this journey and truly in them to be
imparted this call for mission.
Evangelical church in Radovish
This fellowship is young, but is the light of the people and the hope of salvation where we preach our savior
Jesus Christ. Pastor Robert’s wife Krasi is working with a creative workshop with teenagers in the church.
More and more children are coming to these workshops. All of these teenagers are not church members and
they are not believers. Pray for this group of teenagers, that through this worship they get closer to Jesus.
Evangelical church in Volkovo
God answered their prayer needs. Gratefully, the Lord has provided new chairs that enhanced the sanctuary
space and brought renewed comfort and vitality to their building. One novelty is that Kristina (the daughter
of pastor Socrat) started music classes with children and youth. They have 30 + children attending the
classes. Please pray for this group of children in EC Volkovo.
May God bless you
MARCH 2024
We hope your New Year is blessed. Around the world things
seem very turbulent and uncertain. None of this surprises God.
His work continues.
We are very excited about the medical clinics we have hosted
this November and February. We also had a construction team
put roofs on 2 churches. That means people are getting saved.
In fact, 43 were saved in this last medical clinic alone. We praise
God for moving. As a side bonus the churches in these communities
are suddenly well known.
Speaking of new churches, Les just returned from Panama.
He was privileged to be with them for graduation. He also got
to see their new church plant. Please pray for the church in
Panama. This is their first new church plant. They are entering
a new growth phase.
The new Coastal Bible School has just opened. We are very
excited to see how God is going to use this for His glory and
our growth. This is Central America’s SIXTH resident Bible
School. It is the way we can best disciple leaders and pastors.
Please pray for our Bible Schools and extension programs.
I saved the best for the last. CASA VIDA, our home to help older
grads of our children’s home set down roots in the Lord and
prepare them for life in the big world. We are still refining our
1-3 year program. You can really help by keeping all our
students and workers in prayer.
Thank you for praying! Nothing is more helpful.
Update from Karen Ming
For twenty years I have ministered in the PCG African countries, especially in
East Africa. It’s been so rewarding to be with the Bishops and leaders
throughout Africa. We go to bless and encourage but we are blessed and
encouraged when we see their commitment and love for God. These
countries are reaching such a harvest.
I just returned from the Joshua Campaign celebration and conference in
Ethiopia where Karl and Jennifer Hargestam began this ministry. Then Per and
Abbey Akvist took the baton and carried it high. This is an extraordinary and
supernatural call to ministry. Our Africa Bishops and leaders from eight
countries saw this Celebration Crusade in action. It is anointed and everyone
was so inspired to go and reach a greater harvest in their countries. Whatever
we do in the name of the Lord will be rewarded.
Thanks be to God for the Joshua Campaign and the leaders and team that He
has placed there. Thanks to our PCG World Mission Directors Virgil, and Janie
Kincaid. I’m amazed at their ongoing love and generosity to help everyone
around the world. They have a mammoth job to keep our world mission
moving forward.
Thank you to all our Africa Bishops and Leaders who from their heart serve
and glorify our Father and PCG.
This is a new day and I feel we have a very strong World Mission team around
the world. We will finish strong before He sounds the trumpet for the big
reunion (Pictured is Bishops & leaders of Africa
with our World Missions Directors).
Celebrating Easter, Indonesian style:
In communities where Christians feel safe, you will see crosses hanging up
on poles outside Christian homes. These colorful crosses are an Easter
decoration. They often leave these cross up for about two months.
A display of a cross. The words
translate to “Happy Easter”.
On Good Friday we all dress up and go to church.
(Indonesians are very religious, & everyone
expects Christians to be in church.) Communion
is served in remembrance of Christ’s death. The
communion wafers are large (about the size of a
small cookie). Each wafer has a Bible verse
printed on it. A variety of verses are used.
Easter Sunday morning has a very different type of service. It is usually held at
the beach. Indonesia is made up of about 17,000 islands. Most churches
are near a nice beach. We all enjoy the big picnic dinner & fellowship.
Communion wafer with a Scripture
verse on it. This verse is Col. 3:23
Digging into the food.
Grilling fish for the picnic lunch.
Early in the afternoon, there’s a water baptism. Lots of Indonesian Christians really
desire for their baptism to be on Easter. Candidates for water baptism have
attended special classes for about a month. By this time they really understand water baptism.
Thank you for your faithful
support both in prayer and
finances.
One Easter, I was honored to baptizing the
ladies. Their pastor baptized the men.
INFLATION and The Mission is Still the Mission
Inflation is literally everywhere these days, newscasts, podcasts, tv news, internet news, and
every time you visit the grocery store, hardware, gas station, or your favorite fast food
establishment. “What is Inflation”, “Understanding Inflation”, “Unpacking the Causes of
Inflation”, and “Long-Term Effects of Inflation”, all are questions of the day.
During the month of April 2020, as the Coronavirus pandemic was in full swing, I participated
with Missio Nexus in a series of Missions CEO Peer 2 Peer ZOOM meetings. Each Wednesday
we started with a set topic and speaker, then broke into smaller groups to discuss the topic,
and then came back into full session until closure. There was a total of about 150 mission
leaders from various groups across the United States. I was impacted by the opening
statement to the meeting, “The Mission is Still the Mission!” Finances were on everyone’s
mind, cutting budgets, bringing missionaries home from the field, losing major donors,
churches dropping support, and programs discontinuing. But “The Mission is Still the
Mission!” A plethora of topics were dealt with during the month, but at the end of the series
everyone was still fixed on, “The Mission is Still the Mission!”
When COVID-19 first appeared, God didn’t hit the pause button on THE MISSION, throw up
His hands in desperation, and say, “Well, that’s it, we’ll just have to wait until this runs its
course, they find a vaccine, or everyone just dies.” No, God never left His throne, never got
nervous, and never changed His plan. “The Mission is Still the Mission!” Have lives been lost,
yes. Were lives turned upside down, yes. Were the economies of individuals and nations
affected adversely, yes. But Matthew 28:19, 20 is still operational and valid! “The Mission is
Still the Mission!” Our personal and ministry routines may have changed over the ensuing
months and years, but we still read, we still study, we still pray, we still declare the gospel of
Jesus Christ. There is still a world in just as much need as it ever was and there is still a God
who is waiting for people to call upon His name and who is not only listening but answering
as well. Did I mention, “The Mission is Still the Mission!?”
Our missionary family has, is, and will continue to respond post-pandemic with various
strategies of ministry. It may not look like it did previously, but it is just as effective, and it is
still sharing Christ. Some have asked, “when do we get back to normal?” That’s a very good
question. Lisa Miller sponsored a ZOOM meeting under the theme, “Shifting into the New
Normal.” Leaders from across the U.S., Canada, Caribbean, Central and South America joined
the meeting. The consensus is that normal is going to look a little different into the future.
The gospel will not change. God will not change. However, the way we approach sharing the
gospel may indeed have a New Normal.
So, I guess here I could just repeat the second paragraph of this report, but I will not do that.
Substitute coronavirus with inflation and we have the latest challenge to the mission of
getting the gospel to the nations. Inflation is real consuming real income and any advances
that families have made in the past few years. Missionaries and the World Missions
Department are feeling that constraint as well. Several missionaries could use a boost in
monthly income. As we open new nations for the gospel, funds are needed for that
expansion. Perhaps God has positioned you and your church for such a time as this. Maybe
you can boost monthly support to your missionaries, take on a new missionary, or make a
one-time gift. But God! As a preposition, but means ‘with the exception of; except, or save.
Except for God, all of our challenges, financial and otherwise would seem insurmountable.
All the challenges that we have faced and are continuing to face are just that, challenges.
They are not final edicts. They are not periods at the end of our missions’ sentences. They do
not have the last say about whether the Church lives on or whether anyone anywhere will
ever be reached for Christ’s sake again. They are challenges! Jeremiah 32:27 says, “I am the
Lord, the God of all the peoples of the world. Is anything too hard for me?” Let us pray, “God,
I commit my challenges to you. Show me the way through them. Give me eyes to see your
solutions and strength to act on them.Amen!” God remains God and “The Mission is Still the
Mission!”
My name is Steve Neal, I’m a missionary evangelist for the PCG. I am new to the PCG, I was
ordained in December 2022 and I am with the Arkansas district under Bishop Redding. I’ve been
in the ministry for 42 years. I’ve pastored for seven years and the rest I’ve been an evangelist. In
2014 God called me to the nations. Since then, I’ve been in several different countries such as
India, Dubai, Bulgaria, Nicaragua, Haiti, Kenya and I was in Nigeria and Liberia working with
Bishop Mark Graham and Bishop David Azenabor last fall. I preach revivals, Crusades,
conferences and ministry training. Over the years many souls have been saved, healed, filled and
delivered. I am looking forward to working with the PCG to further the kingdom. God bless!
NEWS FROM THE NUTTS
GREETINGS
It is always a special privilege to greet you.
Knowing that someone is interested in what God
is doing in Bolivia and praying for us always, is
inspiring. God unites us as a family with a bond
of the Spirit. As we labor for the Lord, we have
coveted your prayers many times. We are certain
that we are well today because of them. We are
are still recuperating from our 2022 but trust
that all will be ok. “For whether we live, we live
unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto
the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we
are the Lord’s."
SPECIAL THANKS
We have the best World Missions directors in
the world! We arrived to the USA for a short trip
to see our children and check up on a
homestead in Texas. The Kincaids picked us up
at DFW and drove us to Frankston, Texas (two
hours away). Bro Virgil helped me for several
hours to get a truck running that had been
sitting for four years while Sis Janie helped my
wife Flora clean our house (also uninhabited for
four years). After our accident, we have our
limitations. We wouldn't have been able to do it
without them. They are truly a God send to us
and the entire world. We love the Kincaids!
FAMILY CAMP BOLIVIA
Family camp went well this year. We always have a baptismal service and
communion with all who go. The picture of the truck shows church
members going home after camp. The Lord
takes care of us always even in the midst of
the valley of the shadow of death.
SPECIAL THANKS
A big thank-you to Pastor Ed Forsythe
and Bethel Community Church in Sanger,
California for providing the funds for two
projects. We have not been able to
itinerate in over four years now (between
Covid and the accident). It is a blessing
to have funds to build with in areas
where there are no resources or
the church is new. If you would like to invest in a project or send monthly support:
El Salvador Missionaries
Elman & Minerva Pineda
About El Salvador The country of El Salvador has a long history of government disorder and vicious
criminal activity, but in 2022 President Nayib Bukele’s government arrested over 73,000 alleged gang
members and to date over 75,000 have been arrested, resulting in a decrease in homicides of 60% in 2022
and 70% in 2024. President Bulele is running for re-election. If he does not win, history could repeat itself.
Introduction
We are from the PCG Arkansas District. In 2008 we were called into missions. In 2012 we began our ministry
journey as church leaders and eventually became ordained pastors. In 2021 we enrolled in the PCG MDP,
which included an opportunity to serve in the nation of El Salvador for 18 months. In July of 2023 we were
appointed PCG missionaries to El Salvador.
The Vision and Mission
The vision for the country of El Salvador is to expand the Kingdom of God and gain ministerial permanency
and longevity. The mission is to spread the gospel through organized and specified community outreach
ministries with the goal of eventually establishing a Pentecostal Church of God National Center.
Current Field Progress
Thus far while we were in the United States presenting our field, Church P Project has been moving forward,
the Pastors and members have worked in unity and have been able to gain access to electricity, portable
water, and completed 50% of the building construction. We traveled back to Central America on February
27th of 2024 and expect for our immigration process to be finalized by July of 2024.
SPRING 2024
News from the
Philippines!
PRAISE THE LORD! Spring is such a wonderful time of the year. It seems like everything is “springing” into action. The
plant life and the animal life all seem to be growing. This is true with our spiritual life and walk with our Lord, for which we Praise
the Lord.
NEW CHURCHES! The church in Malanumlanum has been completed. We hope to have the church dedication the first
week of May. God has blessed these dear people in the mountainous region of central Luzon. Reports are coming in from all over the
Philippines. New churches have been planted in every Region of the country. The Philippine leadership feels that we are well on
track to reach our church growth goal of 1,000 established churches by 2030.
PAULA’S ACCIDENT! Paula has just had her second surgery on her left knee. This time the U.S. doctor removed the
wires that the Philippine doctor put in while in the Philippines last year. She is healing well and expected to have full recovery. Thank
you so much for your prayers. Healing comes from the Lord!
THANK YOU! Again, thank you so much for your
support in finances and prayers. We must reach as many
people as possible during the short time we have left.
Bible Shipping - We continue to "ship" Bibles to the persecuted
and underground church in Ir@n. To date we have shipped
360,000 Bibles. Lord willing we will go well over 400,000 this
year. Pray that every load safely makes it to the hands of all the
new believers who need them. How exciting it is to receive your
first and very own Bible. Pray that this door stays open as it
seems to be getting harder and harder. We had a rough couple
of months but it eventually all worked out.
Family picture in Hakkari Eastern Turkey. Near Noah's Ark. We
took a family road trip from Iraq to Eastern Turkey this year.
We found a small ski area with $8 ski rentals and free lifts
during the week! In these mountains of eastern Turkey Noah's
Ark came to rest. For 1900 years these mountains were filled
with Christians and stone churches. Apart from the Armenian
genocide, there was also the Safo Genocide 100 years ago. In
this town where we skied 10,000 Christians were murdered. It
happened in all these mountain villages. In a strange way it
seems their blood still calls out to us. Ironically, the people
living here now are very kind and hospitable to us. Those who
fled and survived became the families who are now our
neighbors in N. Iraq. It happened because demographics
changed. A well-established Christian majority slowly became
the hated minority when aggressive Islamic foreigners began
flooding into their beautiful country. Sound familiar?
Camp Master Plan - Many churches and denominations have
campgrounds in the US. Here in Iraq that has never
happened. We are some of the first missionaries to ever buy
land in Iraq. I feel like God is leading us to develop this land
into a multipurpose camp. With this camp, we develop our
own economy hosting family camps, children's camps, English
camps, weddings, river rafting, agricultural projects, events,
picnics, and conferences. When churches aren't using the
camp it will be open to the public. With this, we can host
more interns and mission teams. Account #1105
Church Registration - In December our church was recognized by
the local government and allowed to be registered. With this
registration we can legally marry, bury, divorce, baptize, and all
the other things where church intersects with local government.
For our 15 years in Iraq it has been illegal for missionaries to
start and pastor churches here. For the past 8 years we did it
nervously and illegally. Sometimes you have to break the law in
following God's assignments. Finally, there got to be a few more
of us foreigners pastoring churches and it forced the issue.
Praise God they found a way to legally let us pastor our
churches.
We currently have an issue that needs prayer. There seems to
be Ir@nian spies visiting our church. One Ir@nian girl who
occasionally attended the past 2-3 years is now causing us a lot
of trouble. She is posting our family and staff pictures on
Ir@nian social media. It's dangerous because the Ir@nian
Islamic regime is always looking for American targets to hurt.
Fortunately, the righteous are bold as lions and we don't run
away. I take comfort that God knows and literally sits in heaven
and laughs at all those who scheme. According to Psalm 91, we
rest under the shadow of His wing and no weapon formed
against us shall prosper.
Thank you all for your prayers and generous support.
Sincerely,
GRATITUDE
We are incredibly grateful for all that the Lord is doing
here in the Amazon region of Manaus. We ended 2023
reminded of all He has done as we celebrated the birth
of our Savior, and had the privilege of serving others,
shining His light in the darkness.
EVANGELISM
We held our Christmas outreach in two communities
on the Amazon River, Timbó and Ilha de Marrecão. It
was a wonderful time serving our brothers and
sisters, and presenting the birth of Jesus to all in
these communities. Each family received Christmas
baskets full of food items to prepare a Christmas
dinner and special sweets and gifts.
CELEBRATION
The end of January brought much celebration as our
home base church, Mission Passion and Compassion,
celebrated 15 years of existence. It was a full
weekend of incredible ministry sessions, worship,
prayer, and reflection over all the Lord has done. We
have entered our 16th year with great expectation
and excitement for the future.
BAPTISM
During the anniversary celebration we also had the
privilege of holding a baptismal service.
PCG in Amarillo Texas feeds approximately 2000 people a
month. During the winter months, they sleep up to 24 people in
the sanctuary to get them out of the cold. Ms. Lori, a member of
the church, lives in the church and cooks, cleans and helps with
the distribution of food every Thursday. The church has one
trailer and the tires had wire coming through the tires. KOM
purchased 4 new tires for the trailer and now they are able to
IVORY COAST MISSIONS FIELD REPORT
By Rev. Alain & Jada TANOH
Dear friend and supporter,
We are so excited to share this field report with you, highlighting many of the wonderful progress
we’ve made since last year. In general, our local pastors have been very busy advancing the
work on the field in our physical absence. We thank God for their dedication to the divine
work. We will now highlight to you 3 major areas of progress:
1. Overall, our Missions field has seen a remarkable improvement since the last part of the
previous year. We have connected with and brought on board Bishop Bohui Attaha
Jean Claude, who now serves as our executive leader for our local organization. We are
still in the process of merging our organizations and working together on the different
aspects, redundancies, and hiccups. We hope the process of merging to be done by
the end of the year.
Bishop BOHUI is the pastor of a large congregation and the leader of a group of local
networking churches. He leads a group of 50+ pastors that he has personally trained. He
emphasizes pastoral education and training. We are truly looking forward to our
collaboration in the long term. We introduced him to Director Kincaid in Joplin last year
when he came to visit us.
2. One of our most exciting news this season is the opening of our first international station in
Paris, France. Pastor Roger and his wife have been working with many of their former
church members who moved to France and who asked them to come and help them
start a permanent church in France. Currently, the group is meeting in a community
room they’ve been allowed to use for free in the beginning. What a miracle! Now after a
couple of months, they’ve been asked for 500 Euros a month. They looked for a place to
meet for more than a year before this one. We are currently trying to get Sister Hughette
(Pastor Roger’s wife) to stay 6 months at the time to solidify the work.
3. Lastly, we are celebrating our biggest answered prayer. On November 8, we received a
kidney transplant at the St. Louis University Hospital after 3 years on the waiting list. This is
truly a wonderful opportunity for a new start since our need for physical healing from
kidney failure has kept us from being as effective as we would like. We thank God for the
matching kidney, the successful surgery, and for the safe and slow recovery. I am
particularly thankful and grateful to God for blessing me with my beautiful and generous
wife who has always been on my side and donated one of her kidneys a couple of
months ago, so I can jump up to the top of the list. As always, we need prayers for
resources to make our dreams of planting at least 5 new churches every year a
reality. Thank you for your prayers and support. May God bless you in your own ministerial
endeavors.
Dear Brothers and Sisters, Spring 2024
Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Times and seasons run so fast away from us and Apostle Paul teaches
us that the night is almost over and it is time to get up and work for him. (Romans 13:12) God has given us responsibility
to work for Him every day with faith, hope and love. God multiplied our work last year and we are continuing our soul
winning Gospel preaching in 2024. Still, India currently has 2.3% Christians even though Apostle Thomas came to reach
India in AD 52. Despite of persecution, killings, threat, burning of churches, we are slowly reaching the lost in remote as
well as urban areas. Please pray for the safety of our workers
FREE OLD AGE NURSING/RETIREMENT HOME:- We started building a
home of 8000 sq.ft. for the elderly few years ago. Many elderly people are
either abandoned or kicked out of their homes by younger generations as
they are becoming more selfish. We can accommodate at least 50 people in
this building comfortably. Many churches, pastors and believers have generously
given to this project. We have completed all interior work including
kitchen. Now we need furnishings, furniture, mattresses, beds, dining tables,
chairs for 18 rooms. Parking lot is another area we need to work on. Please
help us if you can towards the total finishing up of this building. Total cost
would be around $15000.00
CHRISTMAS CELEBRATIONS:- Currently, we have 70 children under our care in three orphanages. Christmas season is
always a happy occasion for them as they expect gifts, presents, new clothes and delicious food as part of the celebration.
This year we have been blessed with financial help from our friends and families and children had a wonderful time during the
holidays. Its notable that in a hindu nation, Christmas celebrations with display of stars and Christmas tree, itself is a public
testimony that the Lord Jesus was born to save mankind from sin. Even nearby village kids joined ours for food and gifts.
YOUTH RALLY:- Last year we held two large scale programs for our youth. In November, 200 youngsters came together for
a day of spiritual youth activities at our headquarters. Many competitive talents were performed in Bible quizzes, songs,
sermons, essays, recitals, spiritual dramas before the audience and a five panel judges announced the winners. These youth
are the future of our denomination who carry the torch for Christ in this heathen nations. Please pray for as we commit them
under divine protection.
STREET OPEN AIR PREACHING:- Summer season is the
most popular time for spreading the Word of God outside of
our homes and churches. PCG ministers take this opportunity
to preach to the lost in markets, villages, highways and
byways, intersections where ever people are available. Every
week young ministers by groups visits hindu homes and invite
them to attend church. Through this kind of personal evangelism, they make conversions and baptisms ultimately becomes
Christians. Many state governments passed laws against conversions as some states already arrested hundreds of
pastors and they are in jail. Recently in Manipur, hundreds of Christians were killed, homes and churches destroyed, young
boys and girls publicly executed. More than 200 Christians have died in Manipur since the conflict began, with over 65,000
displaced within and outside the state.
CRUSADES, CONVENTIONS, CONFERENCE:- Many sessions of conference, revival meetings, conventions
in local churches are taking place. Indian Christians are in hunger for the preaching on the Word of God.
They receive renewed strength and power attending these revival meetings.
Dear partners:- Thank you so much for your faithfulness supporting our ministry in India. You play a crucial role in this
ministry. Lets work together as long as our Lord fulfills His commission thru us. May the Lord bless you and make this year
a time for renewed strength in Jesus name.
Sincerely Yours in Jesus, Brother & Sister Thomas , Missionaries to India.
SAKE PASE’ (translated What’s Up!)
From the beautiful people of Haiti!
There is one aspect of God that is undeniable both in scripture and in the course of my life experience. Simply put it is
this; God Does His Best Work At The Point Of Impossibility!
We are into the fourth year of constantly increasing violence across Haiti. Gangs have split the entire country into
zones for their control. Travel is impossible without the risk of your life. Nearly two years after the assassination of the
president, many people were indicted for conspiracy of his murder, including his widow,
who has fled the country to escape prosecution. Although they have been indicted it is very
doubtful that anyone will actually be tried nor convicted. The United Nations has finally
agreed to help by sending a peace force. Only Jamacia and Kenya have offered up
personnel to help reinforce the Haitian National Police Force. But they have yet to deploy
as they are first being trained by USA military forces. There is hope that by summer
reinforcements will finally arrive.
But in the middle of this chaos, God has been working in Haiti. During the Christmas season, hundreds of people
received food through the church’s outreach. Bishop Raynald and the staff of his church identified over 30 families in
dire need because of the violence. Along with your support, we were able to deliver enough food to help these families
and bring a bit of Christmas joy to their homes.
We are also able to start the year off with the addition of several new churches and ministers being added to our
fellowship. First out on the island of La Gonave, we have added 4 new works. The island is only accessible by ferry
and this doubles the number of churches we have in the area. Our leadership team facilitated several video
conferences to orientate and enjoin the new ministries. The second area is another four new works joining us in the
Anse a Veau region. The addition of these churches will bring us to 91 churches across the nation. We are grateful for
the growing in the middle of such great tragedy.
In Lascahobas district one of our pastors and over 60 church members were able to get into a program that relocated
them to the US until the gang’s reign of terror has ended. While there is relief that they are living in safety it has also
left a void in the churches of the area. The result of those who have left has been a renewed effort in personal
evangelism among the churches. They are working diligently to win new souls into the Kingdom.
Also, the national men’s ministry has made a plan to start a replanting trees of all types on the church property. Since
the great earthquake in 2010 much of the vegetation across the property was destroyed. In May they will be planting a
variety of trees for shade along with a few types of fruit trees like avocado, mango and coconut. It will be a blessing to
have such a variety of fruit handy.
Please pray daily for Bishop Raynald, Bishop Cerventes, and especially Leslie Innocent. You may remember a few
years ago we were able to bring Leslie to the USA for much needed brain surgery. Over the last couple of years, there
has been new growth but there is no chance of another surgery. Leslie has been a tremendous blessing to the PCG
family in Haiti but he is fighting a very hard battle right now. He needs your prayer daily. Blessings Everyone!
