Basketball Open Gym<br />
Adult basketball open gym will take place on Wednesday evenings 6:30–9 p.m.<br />
for ages 18 and older. This program started in October and will run through<br />
February 6 at the Hopkins West Jr. High Activity Structure. There is no open gym<br />
on December 26, or January 2.<br />
Participants are asked to bring their own basketballs. The cost is $5/adult/night.<br />
Advance registration is not required.<br />
This basketball program consists <strong>of</strong> pickup games that are played in a social, yet<br />
competitive atmosphere. Participants are asked to come dressed to play, though<br />
locker rooms are available if needed.<br />

Dates: Wednesday, October 10–February 6<br />
Time: 6:30–9 p.m.<br />
Fee: $5/night<br />
Basketball 3-Player League<br />
This eight-week league is set to begin on February 13. Games will be played on<br />
Wednesday nights through April 3.<br />
This self-<strong>of</strong>ficiated program is great for those who enjoy a great workout and don’t<br />
mind a little competition. It is inexpensive and all you need are 3–4 other people<br />
and a ball. Games will take place at Hopkins West Junior High. All teams will play<br />
two games per night, with game times at 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.<br />
To register, call Recreation Services at (952) 939-8203. Registration for returning<br />
teams starts on January 7 and January 14 for new teams. Registration deadline is<br />
February 1.<br />
The cost <strong>of</strong> this activity is $140 per team. Team entry fee includes 5 team t-shirts.<br />

Co-Rec Indoor Soccer<br />
Join the Hopkins Pavilion adult (18+) co-rec indoor soccer leagues. The use <strong>of</strong> hockey<br />
arena boards and a padded indoor turf make the game fun, fast, and safe. Teams have<br />
returned year after year to take part in this high-scoring, and challenging indoor sport.<br />
Indoor soccer is a great way to get your team ready to play outdoors. Including the<br />
keeper, co-rec teams play seven on seven. A maximum <strong>of</strong> 25 players can be on the<br />
roster; although only 18 <strong>of</strong> these can be on the bench at any one time.<br />
The league is comprised <strong>of</strong> two divisions:<br />
Premier Division: Challenging competitive play for current and former college or advanced<br />
players and teams.<br />
Rec Division: For teams looking for a competitive recreational experience.<br />
Season: February 27–Wednesday and Sunday (weekly game for 7 weeks). Note:<br />
Tournament games may be scheduled on Thursday nights.<br />
Start Time: 7–10 p.m.<br />
Cost: The team fee is $775. Team registration only, individual registration is not<br />

Registration<br />
To register a team, complete a team registration form and submit along with $275<br />
deposit by February 1. The team manager indicated on the registration form will<br />
receive all further league information. The remaining $500 balance and team roster are<br />
due by February 15.<br />

Badminton Open Gym<br />
Adults and youth in grades 10 and above<br />
are welcome to drop in and learn the sport<br />
or improve on the skills that they have.<br />
Please bring your own rackets— there are<br />
some rackets available for use. Up to six<br />
courts are set up for double play generally.<br />
Space is limited to 48 players each evening.<br />
Location: Lindbergh Center or<br />
Eisenhower Community Center–Main<br />
Gymnasium<br />
Date: Wed. & Fri. through May 31<br />
Time: 7–9:30 p.m.<br />
Fee: $5 a night, or punch cards are<br />
available to purchase for $20, $40 or $60,<br />
payable on the court.<br />
Pickleball<br />
Use a plastic ball and a wooden racket<br />
slightly larger than a ping pong paddle<br />
to play on a court half the size <strong>of</strong> a tennis<br />
court. Play takes place indoors during the<br />
winter at the Williston Fitness Center. This<br />
is not a league. Rackets are provided for<br />
newcomers to test the game. Players who<br />
want to play on a regular basis will need to<br />
purchase racket.<br />
Free to Williston Fitness Center or Silver<br />
Sneakers members. Non-members pay $4<br />
per time.<br />

Men’s Broomball<br />
Men’s broomball will be played outdoors<br />
this winter in Hopkins at Valley and<br />
Central Parks. Games are scheduled on<br />
Thursday evenings beginning December<br />
20 through mid-February (weather<br />
dependant). Games are scheduled on the<br />
hour beginning at 6–9 p.m. A broomball<br />
will be provided one per team.<br />
Registration deadline is December 7 or<br />
when the league fills, whichever is first.<br />
