sectors in new-building and refurbishment
projects. After establishing
requirements, soil constitution
and a heat-source concept, completion
of the geothermal installation
can get underway. The end result

power outlets in the building.

Wirtschaftsbetrieb Mainz did with
its sewage treatment plant. The
probe field there has been in operation
since late 2009 – after just

newly constructed administrative
building required 33 bore holes at
a depth of 150 metres each, with a
total of 1,580 metres of connecting
lines between probes and distributor
shaft. These impressive figures
only hint at the geological challenge
that is the Mainz basin – a challenge
