Pride Sponsors Red Ribbon Week<br />

red ribbon week is dedicated to the awareness <strong>of</strong> making the right<br />

choices by not using drugs, alcohol, and tobacco. <strong>The</strong> 6 th grade<br />

group made the rounds through the entire campus educating<br />

students, sharing stickers, and spreading the anti-drug message.<br />

<strong>The</strong> event culminated with the entire lower school gathering on the<br />

athletic fields, dressed in red, and forming a human chain.<br />

All Faiths Food Bank<br />

<strong>The</strong> lower school student council<br />

recently had the good fortune to<br />

visit All Faiths Food Bank. <strong>The</strong>re<br />

they toured the facility as well as<br />

learned about how it serves the<br />

hungry in our very own community.<br />

it was an invaluable experience<br />

and gave the students a unique<br />

insight into how out-<strong>of</strong>-door<br />

can help to reduce hunger. <strong>The</strong><br />

entire lower school participated<br />

in its annual food drive, with the<br />

hope <strong>of</strong> providing provisions and<br />

warm meals to the needy in our<br />

neighborhood. Thanks for caring!<br />

Birthday Book Club<br />

<strong>The</strong> out-<strong>of</strong>-door <strong>Academy</strong> Birthday Book<br />

club has been celebrating the birthdays <strong>of</strong><br />

over thirty students who have participated<br />

in the program this fall. <strong>The</strong> participating<br />

students select their own book, pose for<br />

a photo for the bulletin board, and help<br />

affix the book plate with their name for<br />

perpetuity. This program helps the library<br />

grow as it gives the students a sense<br />

<strong>of</strong> pride and ownership in their school<br />

library. look for the explanatory letter and<br />

application that will arrive home during<br />

the appropriate birthday month.
