TThunder rolled for out-<strong>of</strong>-door <strong>Academy</strong>’s first autumn<br />

homecoming week, october 10-14, 2006. every<br />

segment <strong>of</strong> the school population was excited, with<br />

the newly instated football team leading the way.<br />

A $50 chili’s gift card was motivation to enter a sketch<br />

into the “homecoming T-shirt design contest,” and<br />

winner freshman Kevin Frey had everyone decked out<br />

in navy homecoming tees by Wednesday. Thursday<br />

celebrated overall athletic spirit as everyone wore jerseys<br />

representing an array <strong>of</strong> sport teams, and Friday was the<br />

epitome <strong>of</strong> out-<strong>of</strong>-door excitement as our student body<br />

became a vivacious sea <strong>of</strong> blue and white.<br />

A bonfire Thursday evening was hosted by coach<br />

Brewer. student council contributed to the evening by<br />

constructing the huge bonfire that was lit by football team<br />

seniors Jake Grollman, Kevin mercier, david cooper,<br />

William crouse, and harris Flynn. After a delicious dinner<br />

feast <strong>of</strong> hot dogs, the seniors caused a huge upset by<br />

defeating the reigning sophomore champions in the<br />

finals <strong>of</strong> the Thunder cup mattress racing event. steven<br />

laFrance was selected winner <strong>of</strong> the raffle for iPod<br />

speakers. <strong>The</strong> air was charged as the school day ended<br />

on Friday with an exciting Pep rally in the Thunderdome.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Varsity Football team and coaches were introduced<br />

and coach Timmons gave a dynamic motivating speech.
