Day to Day
on the Lower campus…
tK:
Along with the busy bustle of the holiday activities, the
shining stars of TK have been really busy learning literacy
and math skills in many fun-filled ways. As they complete
their “must-do contracts” each week, they have been
identifying beginning, middle, and ending sounds in
words, listening for and making up rhyming words, and
writing lots of words by listening for the different sounds
that make up the words they want to write. As for math,
they have been copying and creating patterns, writing
and ordering numerals, and solving story problems.
PK:
one of the favorite units in Pre-K is
Beary Good Friends. The children love
to explore and experience the world
of make-believe. We decorated, laced,
and dressed some very creative bears.
The children read many bear stories and
learned bear songs. The highlight of our
Bear and Bb Week was sharing the day
with our Teddy bears and having a
Teddy Bear Picnic on our playground.
The kindergarten classes were very busy getting ready for
their Thanksgiving program which was held in november.
The children performed many new songs and poems that they
learned. The kindergarten classes enjoyed rehearsing together
daily, as they got ready for the performance. in addition, the
children had fun preparing their versions of native American
and Pilgrim costumes.
