Transportati<strong>on</strong> Services has a fleet <strong>of</strong><br />

80 buses/vans providing <strong>on</strong>- and<br />

<strong>of</strong>f-campus, paratransit and charter<br />

services for <strong>Texas</strong> A&M University.<br />

Bus service is fare free to all students, faculty, staff<br />

and visitors to <strong>Texas</strong> A&M. On-campus service<br />

c<strong>on</strong>sists <strong>of</strong> routes that move passengers from point<br />

to point around campus. Off-campus service is used<br />

to transport students, faculty and staff to and from<br />

campus. Off-campus service c<strong>on</strong>sists <strong>of</strong> routes that<br />

cover Bryan and College Stati<strong>on</strong>.<br />

Paratransit service is provided for our permanently<br />

disabled students. It requires an applicati<strong>on</strong> be filed<br />

with and approved by Transportati<strong>on</strong> Services.<br />

what is a “transportati<strong>on</strong> fee”?<br />

The transportati<strong>on</strong> fee, located <strong>on</strong> the students’<br />

statement, is a $70 per semester fee ($35 per<br />

summer term) assessed to provide them with<br />

unlimited fare-free access to both the <strong>on</strong>-campus<br />

and <strong>of</strong>f-campus shuttle services, expand shuttle<br />

services and provide revenue for a l<strong>on</strong>g-term bus<br />

replacement plan. In additi<strong>on</strong>, revenues will pay for<br />

operating expenses and the enhancement <strong>of</strong> bus<br />

facilities <strong>on</strong> campus. This fee is subject to change.<br />

how does the shuttle bus system work?<br />

The university operates an <strong>on</strong>-campus transit<br />

system that can be used by any<strong>on</strong>e <strong>on</strong> campus at<br />

no charge. This is the quickest and most efficient<br />

mode <strong>of</strong> transportati<strong>on</strong> for students who want to<br />

move about the campus <strong>on</strong>ce they have parked<br />

their vehicles. For students who live <strong>of</strong>f campus,<br />

the university operates an <strong>of</strong>f-campus transit<br />

system that serves most <strong>of</strong> the major apartment<br />

complexes and housing areas in Bryan/College<br />

Stati<strong>on</strong>, as well as the Blinn College campus.<br />

All shuttle services are included in student<br />

registrati<strong>on</strong> fees and do not require a bus pass.<br />

Are bicycles encouraged <strong>on</strong> campus?<br />

Free bicycle registrati<strong>on</strong> is <strong>of</strong>fered and encouraged.<br />

There are numerous bike racks <strong>on</strong> campus and a<br />

growing bike community and program.<br />

where can students park their car?<br />

All incoming students need to be aware that parking<br />

is at a premium <strong>on</strong> campus, and <strong>of</strong>ten the available<br />

parking may not be immediately adjacent to their<br />

building or facilities. A student who parks a vehicle <strong>on</strong><br />

campus is required to purchase a parking permit.<br />

There may be a waiting list for premium areas,<br />

including garages. For more informati<strong>on</strong><br />

student’s name to the waiting list, please visit our<br />
