Speaker Biographies cLAirE HEnson Special Advisor WRAP Claire is an environmentalist by experience with a background in both private and public sector delivery. she joined WRAP in 2006 with responsibility for procurement and state Aid and since then, has helped to deliver over three quarters of a million tonnes of new capacity for green and food waste recycling. Jos van Buijtenen holds an Msc from Delft University of Technology, where he specialized in gas turbines. He served several companies as R&D engineer and manager and holds the Chair of gas Turbines at Delft University since 1990. in 2001 he established Triogen BV, for the development of a unique organic Rankine Cycle system. Material Change has eight compost sites including one iVC facility and processed 140,000 tonnes of food and green waste last year. in 2012, Ed oversaw the company’s first 1.4MW AD plant installation at symonds Farm, suffolk, completed on time and on budget. Material Change are UK sales agents of Agraferm AD plants. stEvE ricHMonD Business Team Manager Renewables REHAU Ltd steve is business team manager for REHAU’s renewable energy department, which covers REHAU’s district heating and anaerobic digestion solutions. REHAU are one of the market leaders in district heating pipework and are now the first company to manufacture pre-insulated district heating pipe in the UK. www.adbiogas.co.uk HEnrY roBinson Deputy President CLA Henry Robinson has farmed in gloucestershire since 1978. He chaired the Rural issues Task Force for 10 years, sat on gloucestershire First and the Rural Economic Advisory Panel. He joined the ClA Council in 1999; and has chaired the gloucestershire Branch, the Business and Rural Economy and the Environment National Committees. He was Vice President from November 2009 and became Deputy President in November 2011. cAtH AntHonY Rural Surveyor Land & Business Division Bidwells Agribusiness Cath, a chartered surveyor, has been involved in a wide range of AD projects advising on all aspects, including feasibility, due diligence, feedstock and digestate agreements, planning & permitting. Cath developed her specialism in AD before joining Bidwells in 2009 by a year undertaking research and consultancy work for Anagest ltd. Cath grew up on a 2,350 acre arable farm. MicHAEL LYLE Director HydroThane UK Entered the anaerobic digestion fielding 2003 when he joined Biothane systems international. After the takeover of Biothane by Veolia in 2008 HydroThane was set up in the Netherlands. Urbancharge ltd became the sole licence holder of the HydroThane technologies in the UK and ireland and now trade as HydroThane UK. rAY BurBErrY Qualifications Manager WAMITAB Ray Burberry has been with WAMiTAB since 1995 and involved with the development of the Technical Competence scheme for Anaerobic Digestion since the Environmental Permitting Regulations were introduced in 2007. WAMiTAB and CiWM operate one of two schemes approved by DEFRA to provide competence qualifications for the industry. AnnA BrigHt Consultant Organic Resource Agency Anna Bright joined oRA in 2005, following five years in the water and wastewater industry. As a consultant, Anna works with clients in the private and public sectors regarding the establishment and optimisation of organic waste collection systems and appropriate treatment technology. Anna is a member of CiWM and CiWEM.
