Chris oldfield, managing director of shredding specialist<br />
UNTHA UK, has over 40 years’ industry experience. A<br />
passionate advocate of the ‘reduce, reuse, recycle’ philosophy, Chris is<br />
dedicated to increasing the UK’s commitment to alternative fuel production.<br />
He has supplied shredding technology to many of the UK’s food waste plants<br />
for use in <strong>AD</strong>.<br />

Hugh Bulson is MD of oRA which he co-founded in 1996.<br />
He maintains an active consultancy role on projects<br />
involving the procurement, commissioning and optimisation of <strong>AD</strong>, MBT and<br />
iVC facilities. Hugh works with clients in the private and public sectors on<br />
PFi /PPP projects and on merchant and agricultural facilities.<br />

Dr sandra Esteves has 16 years’ experience in<br />
anaerobic digestion technology and works at the University of glamorgan<br />
where she is a senior researcher within the sustainable Environment<br />
Research Centre and also the director of the Wales Centre of Excellence<br />
for anaerobic digestion, a centre which acts as a process development<br />
and deployment support platform and delivers industrial focused R&D.<br />

Born on a diary farm, Eilert has a Diploma in Agricultural<br />
engineering at the University of göttingen and a Doctor<br />
degree at the University of Kiel. Eilert has been working for Flygt since 1986<br />
in the agriculture business and since the beginning 1990s in the biogas<br />
business as well. Five years ago he took over the responsibility to develop<br />
the biogas business for Xylem worldwide. Eilert is a member of the board of<br />
companies in the german Biogas Association.<br />

Malaby Martin Ltd<br />
Thomas is director of Malaby Biogas and Malaby Martin.<br />
Together the two businesses have developed the Bore Hill<br />
Farm Biodigester as phase one of a regeneration scheme on the outskirts<br />
of Warminster in Wiltshire. With a history of increasingly sustainable<br />
development of rural properties Thomas has a unique perspective on the<br />
growth of <strong>AD</strong> as a renewable technology.<br />

Committee on Climate Change<br />
Dr David Joffe is a senior analyst on technology and<br />
energy systems at the Committee on Climate Change. He<br />
leads the analysis on long-term emissions reduction, and worked on the ‘best<br />
uses’ of scarce bioenergy resources across the economy within the CCC<br />
Bioenergy Review.<br />

A former corporate lawyer with an MBA from london<br />
Business school and an llB in English and French law<br />
from the london school of Economics, Charlotte is an entrepreneur with a<br />
passion for the environment. Charlotte is determined to ensure that <strong>AD</strong>BA<br />
maximises the potential of the anaerobic digestion and biogas industry, and<br />
that a supportive regulatory environment with appropriate standards, training<br />
and finance is created to secure the industry’s future.<br />

Mr Nash, chairman of gasrec, is active in the environment<br />
and renewable energy sectors as a non-exec director<br />
of NTR plc (wind and solar development, bio fuels, waste recycling), EVo<br />
Electric limited (electric vehicle technology) and until recently Zenergy<br />
Power (superconductor energy technology) – in addition to being a director<br />
of Current opengrid limited (smart grid solutions).<br />

Future Biogas, a biogas project developer and operator,<br />
operates two 1.5MW plants in Norfolk and is shortly<br />
starting construction on two further plants, one being a gas injection unit.<br />
Philipp has a background in law and renewables having worked in the city<br />
and run a leading cellulosic ethanol developer.
