• access water without any
difficulty.

animals is observed and
likely to cause injury, action is
taken to manage or separate
aggressive animals 21 .
Electric
prodders
Electric prodders
are ‘fit for purpose’
and used
appropriately when
moving livestock.
Electric prodders
are not used:
• on animals < 3
months of age,
• on sensitive
areas of the
animal’s body
(eyes, ears,
nose, anus, etc).
Electric prod use
is monitored as
part of the internal
audit procedure
