1912, 50mm; bronze; artist: Rene Baudichon obverse: depicts 1912<br />

Peugot Lion race car, reverse: top half depicts Peugot factory, lower half<br />

depicts “Lion” symbol of lion in profile in front of car wheel and arrow;<br />

lettering across top “Societe Anonyme Des Automobiles et Cycles”; this<br />

medallion commemorates the exceptionally influential race car developed<br />

by driver-engineers Goux, Zuccarelli and Boillot, engineering a dual<br />

overhead cam 7.6 liter four cylinder that won the 1912 French Grand Prix<br />

and setting a lap record at the Indianapolis 500 and served as inspiration<br />

for race cars throughout the 20th Century; overall wear to surface with<br />

some loss of detail, particularly to “Peugot” script on reverse; nice patina;<br />

some dents and/or casting flaws; great racing imagery; Fine to VF<br />
