<strong>North</strong> <strong>Dakota</strong> <strong>State</strong> has an outstanding record of SUCCESS IN THE CLASSROOM and the community in<br />
addition to its great tradition of success in athletics. The student-athlete at NDSU is a student first, and is required to be in constant<br />
pursuit of his or her degree. Tutors are available on campus and at special athlete-only study sessions. Plus, a spacious study<br />
lounge with Internet-ready computers was recently added to the Bison Sports Arena.<br />

Enhancement<br />
Academic excellence is<br />
emphasized at NDSU. The<br />
university has produced a<br />
Rhodes Scholar and 28 NCAA<br />
Postgraduate Scholarship<br />

In addition, three Bison<br />
women were recipients of the<br />
Honda Broderick Division II<br />
Athlete of the Year award,<br />
including Kasey Morlock who<br />
received the NCAA Top Eight<br />
Award for 1997-98.<br />
Eight Bison athletes have<br />
been named recipients of the<br />
<strong>North</strong> Central Conference’s<br />
Stan Marshall award, honoring<br />

An outstanding strength<br />
and conditioning facility is on<br />
hand in the Bison Sports<br />
Arena. Jim Kramer and a fulltime<br />
assistant direct a yearround<br />
training program.<br />
A 9,000-square-foot<br />
weight room equipped with<br />
state-of-the-art equipment and<br />
a 6,000-square-foot conditioning<br />
area gives NDSU one of the<br />
biggest and best facilities of its<br />
kind in college athletics.<br />
Media<br />
Program<br />
The Bison student-athlete<br />
is exposed to a wide variety of<br />
media, including print, electronic,<br />
and video outlets.<br />
The Sports Information<br />
Office regularly assists the<br />
student-athlete with media<br />
requests and offers helpful<br />
advice and training, as NDSU<br />
athletes occasionally are<br />
guests on television or radio<br />
programs.
