Dracaena draco (dragon's blood tree). The tips of the<br />

branches bear crowded sword-shaped leaves and clusrers of<br />

flowers. This several hundrcd-yellf-old specimen is endemic<br />

to the Canary Islands; its much-branched trunk has<br />

undergone extensi\'e anomalous secondary thickening and<br />
