Joseph V. Canzani, 1915–2008
Joseph V. Canzani, artist, educator, and president of Columbus
College of art & design from 1949 to 1995, died in Columbus
on august 8, 2008. his influence on generations of artists and
designers was significant.
a memorial gathering, which took place on october 6 in the
Canzani Center auditorium, was a time for those who were
close to Canzani to share stories about his colorful character
and his influence. his son Vincent joined with faculty, staff, and
friends to pay homage to Canzani at the event. presentations
featured video clips and even a rousing sing-along led by dean
of Visual Communications richard aschenbrand.

to share their memories of this remarkable man.
