The Tetmajerowska Restaurant is located on
the 1st floor of Spiski Palace (Pałac Spiski) -
jewel of architecture in Cracow, in the Main
Market Square. The restaurant's name comes
from the festive frescos of Wlodzimierz Tetmajer, paintings of the artist became a
symbol of the restaurant which has been uninterruptedly opened since 1913.
Tetmajer Restaurant was opened up on the turn of two epochs. In the middle of the
19th century a modern canon of national cuisines appeared. Polish culinary
standards, although keeping a national character, started to approximate European
standards. Tetmajerowska Restaurant used to be the meeting point of artists in the
beginning of 20th century and today is the nest of the financial elite.

Szara is certainly amongst the best restaurants
in Cracow. It's got it all - a magnificent location
on the market square, a beautifully restored
gothic ceiling, friendly service, delicious and
well-presented food - you could go on. It's a distinctly pompous place too. In the
summer season - if you're sitting outside the view is one of the best in town.
