School Holidays
It’s great news for the kids, but maybe not so exciting for parents — Spain
has among the longest school holidays of anywhere in Europe. Be prepared.
The long summer break is a particularly
tough test of any parent's mettle as to
whether they can keep their child entertained
during the hottest months with no
school between the end of June and mid-
September.
Children moving up from primary to secondary
school get an extra two weeks
summer holiday, which usually includes
an end-of-school trip abroad.
(dias no lectivas, included below under
'Festivals') to give children and teachers
more breaks in the school year.
