These activities allow your children to build their self-esteem and foster positive relationships with their peers. Youth development is a focus of the Recreation Department. Programs are developed to allow youth to experience increased self-confidence, success in learning new skills, teamwork, goal setting, education planning and decision making. In short, our programs are intentionally designed to develop life skills that help youth become successful, responsible adults. We invite you to look through this program brochure and discover the variety of programs that are offered for preschoolers, school-age children, teens and adults. Whether you choose to join one of our youth or adult sports leagues, an instructional class, utilize the dog park or skate park, or just drop by and take a walk in one of the City parks, we welcome you to our programs and facilities. You may obtain an Application for Recreation Youth Scholarship at any recreation center. This assistance is for City of El Cajon Recreation Department classes only.
