MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIR Dear Members, I am happy to announce that the 13th Biennial Conference on Wetland Systems in Water Pollution Control has been approved by IWA headquarters and the conference will take place at Murdoch University, Perth, Western Australia, on 25–29 November 2012. I had a chance to participate in the conference on Integrated Water Management this February organized by Murdoch University and it was a great event. I have no doubts that our conference next year will be a success as well. The first announcement for this conference is on pages 4–7. It is apparent that the information on constructed treatment wetlands published in international journals is still growing and at this point I would like to draw your attention to three recently published journal special issues which contain papers on the use of wetlands for water quality improvement: Special Issue of Ecological Engineering: Enhancing ecosystem services on the landscape with created, constructed and restored wetlands Volume 37, Issue 1, pages 1–98 (January 2011) (based on papers presented during the INTECOL Wetland Conference in Cuiabá, Brazil, 2008), edited by Jan Vymazal Special Issue of Ecological Engineering: Advances in pollutant removal processes and fate in natural and constructed wetlands Volume 37, Issue 5, pages 663–806 (May 2011) Based on papers presented during the WETPOL Conference in 2009 in Barcelona, Spain, edited by Joan García.
