Local accountant opens own practice
CHARTERED ACCOUNTANT Duncan Gray in his new offices on Teasdale Street.

Duncan Gray now has his own
ccountancy firm based in offices

He says he has always wanted

Not surprisingly he was an
agricultural tutor and then a
Rural bank manager with
Trustbank Waikato in Te Awamutu.
In 1998 he joined a local
accountancy firm as an accountant
before becoming an associate
for another chartered accountancy
firm in 2000.
He has had a wide variety of
clients over the years and many
are now based around the country.
"Many of them were initially
my clients in Te Awamutu, but
have since moved to other areas
and retained my services. I work
with people from the Far North to
Cromwell in the South Island.
As Mr Gray endeavours to visit
most of his clients this can now
involve a lot more planning.

"I enjoy getting out to see my
clients, obviously the local ones
are easier to visit, but I do keep in
contact with them all and make an
effort to catch up with them when
I can."
Mr Gray enjoys dealing with
clients from a range of businesses
and helping people achieve their
financial goals.
He has been joined by his son
Malcolm who has a Bachelor of
Commerce from Otago University
(economics major) and completed
a post graduate degree in finance.
The pair offer a full range of
accounting services including
GST returns, preparation of financial
accounts, PAYE, business and
farm financial planning.

Lopped locks for leukaemia

Tania Omundsen and Megan Brown are closing
n on $3,000 from their fundraising head shave for
haveforacure.
The pair had their heads shaved outside Fresh
hoice on Saturday to raise funds for the Leukaemia
nd Blood Foundation, while supporters helped
izzle sausages to boost fundraising.
Ms Omundsen dedicated her close shave to friend
ebecca Sargent’s daughter Maddison (who was in
ttendance with her mum on Saturday) and Miss
rown to her late father Garry Brown.
There was plenty of good natured bantering as
hey waited to go under the razor, with Ms
mundsen’s father and her five-year-old twin sons
eciding to join in by having their heads shaved too.
