Koch and Domina (1999) also investigated the reasons why consumers<br />

choose specific disposal options. Respondents’ reasons <strong>for</strong> disposing of textile<br />

products through specific options are summarized in Table 1. Reasons are listed in<br />

the order of frequency mentioned, with the first being most frequently mentioned.<br />

Note that the most common reasons <strong>for</strong> disposing of items, regardless of disposal<br />

method, included “did not fit” and “not wasted.”<br />
